  1. I'd like to see darker spots in buildings added to DayZ. I'm not talking about little corners but rooms where there is low visibility or being pitch black even in the middle of the day. This room could be a basement where it is very dark and a player would have to use their flashlight in order to properly navigate through old furniture or shelves. Maybe even small houses that have had its windows boarded up to keep Zeds away will block sunlight and leave the building very dim. If this could be implemented then maybe larger buildings like hotels could have the same effect naturally in the hallway especially if people decide to close all the doors of the rooms. Hopefully giving players a little more suspense when looting :)
  2. Pictures coming soon. Cherno was the largest most densely populated city in Chernarus, so it stands to reason that it would’ve had a strip club in its heyday. Fast forward to present day the strip club is now a rundown poorly lit building that survivors can raid for supplies. The only thing standing in their way would be the strippers and the patrons that died there during the virus outbreak. Imagine walking in and the first thing you see is the starving zombie cage dancers trapped in their cages, wouldn’t that be cool? (Now I know that cage dancers are only in clubs but let’s just say this strip club had cage dancers) The strip club spawns would include pistols, food, lotions, tissues, and those small balloons you can buy in the bathroom that say Trojan on the wrapper. This is in no way front so that scantily clad female models make it into the game, it’s just an idea I had to make the towns feel more organic. Add Dust. How awesome would that be?

oh ok, thanks for the info and by all means start the new thread(i'll try not to hate you too much for stealing my thunder), you seem to know more about how the game work.

Add Dust. How awesome would that be?

I had a mini brainstorm to try and think of a way do display if items had already spawned and this seemed to be the only way to display this in a very subtle way without breaking the immersion. Would it really be that graphically intense to show dust on the floor?
  5. For those tl;dr my idea is loot should leave an imprint when picked because they’re dusty. After frolicking from town to town I got pretty sick and tired of not knowing if the town’s local supermarket or buildings were already looted or if the items still hadn’t spawned. So I thought, this is a zombie apocalypse, the fall of civilization has to of been at least been a couple months ago from the look of things, items laying on the floor should of at least collected some dust. So this is where my idea comes in, I propose that when loot has been taken off the floor it should leave that clean imprint dusty things leave when you pick up a book from my book shelf. I’m not saying it should leave an exact imprint of what that item was but leave some sort of imprint to indicate items have already spawned and have already been taken. So what do you think? Like it or did you love it? 6. great idea. I never liked how 90% the cars in chernarus were exploded/wrecked for no apparent reason(at least in my mind). Having this would explain why the cars in chenarus are undriveable, the players before you looted them for parts.

    Wallets (add to the immersion)

With the debug monitor gone, wallets could be a good away to track humanity. Either by collecting ids or having the game automatically record kills on a piece of paper with hash marks. There should be a hotkey to open your wallet and have everything be displayed all at once (much like it is now when you open your gear) so it won’t be that bothersome for players to check it. Also works as good way to show other people your humanity.

    Wallets (add to the immersion)

i thought you were walking away from my so called bad idea but i see you came crawling back. Wow my first brony on the thread and here I thought I was the only…*clears throat* people getting mad upon losing their wallets should not be considered a negative aspect for this idea, using this logic i can say the same thing for why diaries shouldn't be implemented.
  12. how about no...jk I really like the idea of a hands free flashlight and extra pouches

    Wallets (add to the immersion)

its good to see that people actually do want pointless trinkets incorporated into the standalone. and thanks for fending off that bully
