If they are still making decisions to core architecture of the game such as it being server based now, I'd say we're still quite a way off a playable release. There has to be a balance between the quality of the product and the hype built up around it. They need to keep their fans interested and the gaming market has a fickle clientele. They promised news, after their assessment this week and they should keep delivering on their promises. As the Developer referred to in the last blog entry, (We are still working towards a target for an initial foundation before the end of the year. But we will slip this date if needed, we will not compromise the project for the short-term gain of meeting this date. The reasons for any slippage would be publicly discussed, and would most likely represent a failure personally on my part to plan correctly. We will be assessing the results of our major architectural changes at the end of next week, and reporting the results to everyone when we have assessed that.) The more hype, the bigger the expectation and then the harder the fall! I recon Day Z Stand Alone will be a good game though, even in it's early stages,but I do think some people on these forums have some really high expectations and I dare say some of them will be the ones making cry threads shortly after release!We are still working towards a target for an initial foundation before the end of the year. If it needs to be done then fair enough, but it is going to have an effect on the release date though, it's a pretty big deal I'd say! boxman80 964 Posted December 6, 2012 Lets face it, the target date was "before the end of the year" a few months back, i genuinely don't believe they intended it to be literelly the last few days though so I'd say it's fair to assume it's been delayed yes lol Especially as i say since they are talking about changes to a games' architecture. I think we will be talking next spring/summer to behonest at the earliest. Remember Rocket is human, his team is relatively small, it's christmas and new year, he's meant to be climbing Mount Everest come february ( that needs preperation time!)
