Tired of DayZ? Not playing ArmA II anymore because of DayZ? Money wasted?

My only beef with ArmA is how fucking hilarious it is in spots....so unpolished and hard to believe, really took away from the great concept and fair gameplay...and I did play it a good bit, and played the Namalsk Crisis mod, which was scary as hell. AND, life mods are hilarious :D

My reasoning for sticking tight and I mean tight with DayZ is that I played the tits out of Arma2 and OA with groups that would mil sim the dick out of teamspeaks and ruffle everyone up in butter like they were 15 year old generals. Red Rover Red Rover rolled my musty on over to DayZ and found what I was looking for.

been playing arma 2 years before dayz came out, dayz is so tiny compared to what arma 2 has to offer problem is you need a lot of patience and tolerance with arma 2 and many people (including myself at times) lack that.

When I needed a break of DayZ, I tried Takistan Life Revolution. And I was baffled - fantastic! I also bought Arma 2 only because of DayZ, but this game has so many to offer. I will stick with DayZ SA, but ArmA is a really good game and very immerse. And for all the flamers who are bitching about buying ArmA for DayZ: You should be old enough to realize you buyed a game for a free mod. No one forced you to buy it. So don't cry and be happy to have a good game for a low price.

I am surely not regretting that I buyed ArmA. With that I got a great mod which I always wanted to have and I support Bohemia. That is fine to me.

I bought Arma II after discovering some DayZ videos on YouTube. After I realized that I sucked horribly at surviving, I tried out the original Arma II campaign in order to try and improve with the controls. After I had played for a bit I became hooked and go back to it regularly (despite the voice acting, oh god). I'm also going to be trying out ACE soon when I have the time.

It's definitely worth trying out the other parts of Arma II rather than just DayZ.

If you want to play ArmAII vanilla with dayz installed just run it from this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead and run Arma2 OA Beta Patch shortcut. :)

You know Psysyndicate is posting Wasteland videos on YT now, I think there even better then his Dayz ones. It's nice to see Arma getting some recognition it deserves, just hope the hackers and scripters stay away from the Domination or Wasteland servers.

Been playing since OFP - I would suggest try playing a coop mission against the AI with your friends and it'll be the most realistic experience in gaming you'll probably ever have as long as you play it right (and u don't get one-shotted with a pistol at 300m)

Check out warfare its the renamed CTI. You can even turn any map into warfare by dropping modules on it from the editor.

Spend 30$ on arma2 and exp pack. I never try arma and only bought it for days. I am still having fun with the game.

Wasted money ? It kept me entertain me for a long time so worth any penny of it.

There's Project Reality, a team vs team based mod and City Life RPG 2 mod, a pretty hardcore role play mod (a lot more hardcore than the Takistan or Chernarus Life RPG versions)

I bought and played Arma II before DayZ was out. Arma II is fantastic. I still play on the servers. DayZ is fantastic too. There is little reason not to play both.

If I was stuck playing vanilla DayZ, I think I would have quit long ago.

Private hives and mods are the shit though. I joined DayZ Redux a couple weeks ago and it breathed new life into DayZ for me.
