Alright. Well if anyone was wondering this was the CPU I was looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113336 But now I think I'll go for quad core, that seems to be the gist of what I'm getting here.

I've noticed this game is very CPU intensive so I'm going to upgrade for the mod and (mainly) the standalone. I know the standalone will be better in terms of performance but I still want a really nice CPU. But my basic question is: would I be better off with a 4.2 GHz Dual Core, or a lower GHz Quad Core?

Rage Quit, New server, lots of mods, lots of vehicles, custom buildings, custom bases, all players welcome!

Just another one of those servers. Nope. -
Anyone else worried about locking down graphical options to the server in SA?

I've heard that having anything above or below 100% will make your performance go down. -

I disagree because why should someone have to break their wallet just to be able to play a game when they could just as easily turn down some settings and enjoy? -
Key Stolen.. do i have to buy new game?
Lepryy replied to Freshling's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You're wrong. I was banned a while back and when i bought a new copy it still said banned. You need to delete it out of your registry or use a neat little program called Darky's Key Changer. The key changer method is easiest. -
Longest gone without seeing a player?

This. So many camps have been found here. -
If I was Rocket, after everything is said and done, and once we have a nice stable build to play on, I'd start working on some sort of world generation system. Make the game have much, much more players (like a WoW server with hundreds upon hundreds of people). It would be like Minecraft kinda, the world generates as you go. Granted, I don't even know if this would be possible in the first place, to automatically generate a complex 3D terrain, and not just some blocks like Minecraft does. Now THAT, would make this THE best game on the market.

I've never actually experienced screen burn-in before. I wonder what it takes to actually burn an image into a computer monitor. My parents leave their PC on basically all day and don;t ever put it to sleep, never had any burn in issues. My only guess would be is that Mac monitors are super shitty?

For me it did the opposite, it only enhanced the experience. I never play on private hives with hundreds of vehicles and so on. I play on vanilla private hives with small tweaks to enhance the experience. Private hives are superior to public in this game for me because they have smaller, more friendly communities. Everyone knows each other and people form small alliances. Just my preference, and it would be a damn shame if private hives are never supported in this game because that's how I enjoy it.

I guess I should feel good about my PC. My main machine is a Dell XPS 15z. I usually pull ~40-50 in Cherno/Elektro on a good day on medium settings. Specs are: Core i5 @ 2.3 GHz, Overclocked. Nvidia GeForce GT 525M 6 gigs of ram The shit that REALLY scares me is: Sometimes my GPU can get in the upper 80 degrees Celsius. I've even seen it get as high as 96 degrees Celsius. At that point I shut it down completely. I now have 3 extra fans pointed at it in every reasonable direction and it can still get to 80 Celsius.

I think the solution here would be to have different modes that appeal to different audiences, such as the casual, hardcore, etc. people. He should by no means re-wire the workings of the entire game mechanics to fit the broad audience. Let people fine-tune their experience (with private-hives).

Man I don't know what it is about smug people who say "duhh use teh search and find it n00b". It's so un-called for. Hell, even Rocket agrees, he went out of his way to say he doesn't like that behaviour.

Still no none can give any help?
