Play (DayZ) 123 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Just wondering how people play Dayz (audio wise). I played with the music on for a few months but then disabled it so I can hear what's going on in the enviroment! :) Edited November 5, 2012 by Play
Serious Stan 202 Posted November 5, 2012 so I can hear what's going on in the enviroment! This is not an option on your poll so i didnt vote.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) The first thing I do when I run a game for the first time is go in to options, max out the graphics and turn off music, haha. Edited November 5, 2012 by mZLY
SmashT 10907 Posted November 5, 2012 Disabled, not because I want "the ultimate simulation experience" though, I just find it easier to hear footsteps etc with it disabled.
Askar 177 Posted November 5, 2012 Yes, because the 'music' is little more than randomly played tracks that attempt to be scary, but in reality come off as annoying and never fit the situation. Walking through the woods on a sunny day next to the road? Time for some crazy weird music to tell you how scared you must be!I think I had it on for about a day, way back when I first started. Mr Nasty 1023 Posted November 5, 2012 Disabled, not because I want "the ultimate simulation experience" though, I just find it easier to hear footsteps etc with it disabled.Voted yes for basically the same reason. Having it off allows you to get a better sense of your environment. The music sounds can be deceiving sometimes.
tsandrey 379 Posted November 5, 2012 Dsabled. Just adds to much paranoia
Siberian (DayZ) 527 Posted November 5, 2012 since you didnt have a option for me i didnt vote..i play with music turned way down but not off..i like the ambient sounds the audio track plays sometimes it works out perfectly and scares the shit outa me.. hahahone time i was a fresh spawn with nothing looking for basics around a unentrable house with zombiels shambling all around me whilst i proned.the chainlink fence sound happened just then in the audio track practicaly made me go to clean my shorts out.. fuk me i was freaked out till i realized there was no one there.. hahahah
RogueOne 112 Posted November 5, 2012 I prefer to hear if another player's following/shooting etc. I don't see a point with the music, Especially with a game like this where you need to use all your senses. Music kills one of them..
10bag 22 Posted November 5, 2012 Yep. First thing I did.
ManiacMike69 37 Posted November 5, 2012 Yep of course
Darkwater (DayZ) 63 Posted November 5, 2012 Disabled. The music is to add some atmosphere to the game, to make it more "scary". But zombies aren't scary anylonger.. nor are players, the former being annoying and the latter being dangerous. Because of the Deathmatch mentality to most players I encounter, I need to hear what's going on.
waffen-79 32 Posted November 5, 2012 yeah I turn it off/down, so I can be full alert, but the "other" Z game does this cheesy-lame zombie music so characteristic of type B zombie horror movies I liked that
Parasprite 35 Posted November 5, 2012 Disabled, because the sound of footsteps from an unknown source is much more frightening than ambient sounds can ever hope to be.
Hetstaine 10852 Posted November 5, 2012 As i am running into a town the Terminator theme plays in my head so i have no need for in game. In Namalsk it is the Rocky theme.
rooneye 135 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) I cant believe no one has mentioned the most important and annoying thing! This is serious business.LISTEN UP DayZ devs and Bohemia peeps I DEMAND that those little click sounds when you put stuff in and out of your inventory are NOT tied to the music setting. I want those damn clicks, but i dont want the music. Sometimes I play with music just for those click sounds! Ahhh those clicks.....i think we can all agree this is far more important than dogs. taffer 4 Posted November 6, 2012 Yes, because the 'music' rapes my ears.
Conner (DayZ) 3 Posted November 6, 2012 I disable music in most games. I prefer it that way.. I find the music distracting.
Mad Z 51 Posted November 6, 2012 I leave it on most of the time. It added to the paranoia when I first started playing, and I've gotten used to it. I will occasionally turn it off so that I can hear movement better, though.
Angryofficer 89 Posted November 6, 2012 On chernarus, off.On namalsk, I leave it on low because it really makes the game more fun and tense IMO.
sausagekingofchicago 4711 Posted November 6, 2012 I like playing with music but not when I have my team trying to communicate with me.
