    DayZ 2017 Mod Released

I was hoping for something more difficult, and it is, but I got lucky. Found a dead guy on the side of a road. From that I got an enfield, some ammo, all the tools I needed and even a bunch of med stuff, and one single cooked meat. That cooked meat was the only food I had for a long time. Eventually met with a friend and we found a TANK. In it was an m240 machine gun (no ammo :\), and some other guns and stuff. It was all fixed and gassed up. Also, two meat. Those two meat were all my friend and I had for so long. There are still a lot of meds in the hospitals. Rolled around Chernarus in a tank checking the airfields and whatnot. Supermarkets always only had empty cans and backpacks. Airfields/barracks had practically nothing, like 1 ammo for winchester, 1 makarov mag, some chem lights and a bunch of empty cans. There are corpses and chem lights littered all over Chernarus. Can't help but wonder how SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many people died. I really hope they remove the tank. I felt really silly. Running over zombies, not worrying about ambushes. By the way, the tank is unbelievably loud. You can hear it from so many miles away, in fact I think you can hear it from halfway across the map if you turn your speakers up. Anyway, we feel like we're all geared up and beat the game. The tank really spoiled it for us. I might give up on the mod if they leave it in. Gave up looking for food spawns in towns. Animals work better. PS. Can't stop thinking about the dead guy that gave me all my stuff. He wasn't looted, had food, bandages, everything. wtf happened to him?!

Do you disable the Music in Dayz?

Yes, because the 'music' rapes my ears.

    Bandit Logic

I just hate when there's no warning. I'm playing the game and suddenly I'm dead. I don't see anybody, don't even get to hear a gunshot; no action can be taken whatsoever. Oh well, I prefer that over trying to kill some god-mode blood-fountain guy, they're the worst. Personally, I don't have the patience to sit around waiting for some guy to show up. That's boring.
  4. how about control+alt+delete and end the arma 2 process?
  5. huh, I didn't even know you could do this before :|

New US Private Hive Server With Password

Aw lame the server has a password now. My friend and I joined this server yesterday and it was so much fun to actually have a vehicle. A heli no less! Eventually we came across this stash https://dl.dropbox.c...03-22-38-77.png and decided to wreck it. We took some guns, blew up the vehicles, stole one heli, damaged the other helis (they wouldn't blow up :\) and saved the wrecks. I hate when so many vehicles get hoarded like that. 4 helis there too. Ugh. So we hoped to knock 'these guys' down a peg, had our fun and logged off. We try to come back today but the server has a password now. Is banditry not allowed here? We just saw this server in dayz commander and hoped for the best. No idea if it had rules. We would like to play there again. If it's a carebear server we would still like to play there and observe the rules. I've tried the friendly routine plenty of times. Usually stop when people keep killing me though. We too are sick of hacks, dupes, and weak admins. We never seem to have fun on a server for more than a couple of days or weeks without every vehicle in the world disappearing, or finding a crate full of hacked weapons, or finding a camp loaded with stuff that respawns every time the server restarts. We simply want to play somewhere fair. I hope you can let us in. Sorry if we ruined your fun, but the thought of actually making a difference made us happy. We thought for sure it would be another load of crap; that we would log in and all that stuff would reappear as though we never did anything. Instead we come back to a passworded server. BTW, did we make a difference? Or did everything just get reinstated as though we were never there? So many times we robbed and wrecked a camp, thinking it was making a difference, only to come back the next day and find it just as it was, like we were never there. It's me and Dr Pepper. We have a couple of other friends that might be interested in playing as well.

    How players are made good/bad

Yea I tried joining a private hive game. Loved having nothing, decided I'd try something different and be friendly. It was a lot of fun, til a cheater ruined it. so the next day I tell my friends and they decide to friend it up with me in Cherno on this server. WOW what a ridiculous cluster of confusing shit that turned out to be. Some people roll with it, play along y'know? It's neat, then one guy with an AK starts trying to kill people. We decide it's our duty to put this guy down, so we scatter and try to shoot whoever is holding an AK. Turns out.......A LOT OF PEOPLE have AKs. Before long it started to seem like we were bandits. So we left town and decided to keep the friendly guy stuff on a case-by-case basis. Trying to be friends with everybody when everybody is trying to kill each other is just insanity. Trying to be the police is confusing. Staying outside of town and killing snipers is the only way to help everybody at once.

  9. I want this game to go Rogue-like. I actually thought that's what they were going for when I saw the survival timer on the main page. There should be so many hilarious things that can go wrong and mess up your character and possibly end your life in this game. Then the game will be more about survival than anything. Super rare loot, some sort of stamina/tiredness involved, getting sick and injured in many kinds of ways, etc. That timer on the front page would have real meaning. Clearly, survival is not what this game has in mind. Heck, Minecraft is more of a survival game than DayZ. DayZ is just the saddest and slowest deathmatch game of all time. It kinda feels like the only thing that's keeping this game going, is the thought of ruining somebody else's game because people know how long it can take to get anywhere for a legit player; TrollZ. It's not even a decent deathmatch game. Most of the time it's just some guy killing some other guy who is either unaware of him or trying to get away from him. Whatever they wind up doing with the game, I'd like them to take a couple of points very seriously: There aren't enough interesting places, and getting to the interesting places we have now takes too damn long. For the love of whatever, add more vehicles. I've reached a point in this game where running all the time feels like a bullshit waste of my time. When I get hold of a vehicle, it's like a different, funner version of DayZ. When I lose my vehicle? I get bored of the game again. A mere bicycle would be enough for me to enjoy the game again. FAILING THAT; more points of interest. As it is, I'm either in one of the handful of interesting places, or just running to one of them for 20+ minutes. My game has boiled down to: Airfields, Stary, Cherno, Elektro, Berez, and a couple of Factories The rest of the map may as well be a desert. If I'm on foot, I might check a couple of vehicle spawns on the way to a decent place, but it's usually a waste of time. PS. It's funny how HUGE the map is, and yet, even with just 5-20 players, it feels so small because we all go to the same places.Heck I can bump into a stranger even if it's just the two of us playing. I wouldn't mind seeing the NorthWest Airfield nuked into mediocrity. PSS. Honestly sometimes forget this is a zombie game. They may as well be invisible. I got quite the reminder that it's a zombie game when I accidentally lost a car wheel in the middle of a town. The zombie spawns were going crazy!
  10. Ready for a weird coincidence? That's one of the servers I've been playing on. Tents and vehicles disappearing one day, showing up again next. I guess I can't blame the servers, but rather dayz. Sounds like almost all of them are doing that. Heck just today, a tent of mine magically appeared (empty of course >:(). Last night it was gone. My other tents are still gone though.

    The Crossbow Crusader Challenge.

I actually would like to use the crossbow, if the damn thing aimed properly.

1.7.3 - Lets Wipe the Hive

I'm all for it. I can't tell you how many M107s, AS50s, FNFALs, and L85 thermals I've been finding on people, vehicles, and tents in the last three weeks. A LOT, It's absolutely ridiculous! The CZ is actually rarer than the rarest sniper rifles :| . I remember this one dead jerk next to a tent. He had three coyotes with the exact same nice stuff in each of them. And besides, having everybody start out fresh would be fun! :beans: :emptycan: Not quite as related, but while I'm at it; can we have less heli crash spawns? I found three heli crashes in one day. That day ended with something like 3 night vision FNFALs, 2 MK48 Mod 0s, something like 3 Bizons, 2 DMR, 2 M14, and plenty of ammo. Not sure if I'm forgetting anything, I just thought "wow this is ridiculous, how are we going to carry any food?" edit. guy above,..............I know a guy who has lived a lot of days as well. It's because he hasn't logged in the game in over a month, so it's kind of hard to give a shit how long the game says you lived.
  14. My favorite server went bye-bye and I'm having a crap time trying to find a new favorite. Normally I just get stuck on the loading screen for an eternity and have to quit the process to try another one. Some servers run like garbage. We finally find a server we can all agree on. My friends and I have some fun playing like normal. You know, looting towns, killing zombies, placing tents here and there, collecting loot, finding/fixing vehicles. This goes on for days. Then we get lucky finding camps. So we take what we want and crush the tents, but the very next day our stuff will disappear. Our stuff being our own tents all around the server and our vehicles too. Each day we check again to see if a server restart puts things back to normal, but no it doesn't. This has happened twice now with two different servers. The very same story. Tents in different places throughout the map. Vehicles hidden (as well as they can be anyway) here and there. Everything saves and works just great for days and days. Eventually, me and mine get lucky and find camps loaded with fantastic stuff. We take this stuff and crush the tents. The next day we get on to play, everything all over the server is gone. Can somebody just help me stop being paranoid and tell me these really are just coincidences? It's not like we ruin an admin's fun and he has the power to reset everything right? It's just DayZ being stupid AFTER I collect a ton of great stuff right? This has happened twice now with two different servers; one of which actually went offline for a good while after we had our fun. Of course everything was gone when it came back. I'm not just being full of myself here. I can consider the possibility that our stuff just happened to be stolen and crushed as well, but these are scattered in nicely hidden places all over the map. Heck, even other tents that we leave alone to check on disappear. So we've become paranoid about the servers because our stuff will save and work fine for days. It's when we find other people's nice stuff that things tard out. The very next day/server restart, everything will be gone. Can somebody recommend a great server to play on? I'm on East Coast USA (GMT-5). I hear a lot about private hives and whatever. Can somebody point me in a good direction here? I'm starting to lose interest in the game.
