Thanks for all of the feedback. No the fuel would not regenerate, that would be so stupid it's not even funny. I really do like the idea of making fuel more rare because going to a fuel tank at a gas station and having infinite fuel is unrealistic. I think it should be like the Ural where only 1 would spawn on the map and it could spawn only at the NW or SE airfield. Also, I think there should be a fuel hose that you hook up to the fuel truck to pump gas into a vehicle. Imagine this: you have a UAZ and a fuel truck, you are driving in the UAZ and your buddy is driving the fuel truck, the UAZ is starting to run out of gas and there are no gas station/Fuel Tanks in sight, You don't want to leave the UAZ so you and your buddy jump out of the vehicles and hook the hose up to the UAZ and start pumping Fuel. Just a simple scenario to show the use of a fuel truck. Like indominator said they should be really rare. Thanks again for all the feedback.

So your saying that it will keep the loadout once it's reached the number of vehicles that it's set to? (Default is 50). Did not know that it was two months out of date, will have a look at bliss. Thanks for your reply! :D

This is an idea I've been picking my brain about for the last week or so. So, after doing just about everything there is to do in DayZ (except piloting one of those damned choppers) I started getting the feeling that the game is "dying" for me personally. I just didn't find the fun in storing more, more, more and more gear in my tents, never too use them. So, I've been helped by a few people and helped a few others as well and I've gotta say, I'm loving the feeling. So, what I wanna do now (as you may see in the title) is to coach a "bambi" or a person whom is new to the game. I'm not sure if this is a dumb idea but I feel that if I can help people in a game like DayZ I would be rewarded greatly. I'm looking for someone whom is interested in DayZ but perhaps hasn't gotten the hang of it yet. However, you must have a bit of dedication. What we'll be doing is : - Learning where to go when just spawning. - Learning the importance of backpacks and other useful utilities - Learning which weapons to choose for "your" playstyle - Learning where to find those weapons (heli crash sites and military loot) - Learning how to find and repair damaged vehicles. - Learning how to use and understand maps. - Learning how to interact with unknown players. - Learning how to survive. The person I'm looking for mature players (ages doesn't matter as long as you are mature) I'm not sure how I'm going to accomplish this "coaching" but I have a few ideas. If any other players have some constructive feedback I'd love to hear it. A few "must's" though. - You MUST have a working microphone with a decent mic (Don't wanna get stuck between a rock and a hard place while I can't hear what you are saying) - Unfortunally, because I'm Swedish you must be playing in the EU (otherwise one of us would have massive lag) - You MUST enjoy DayZ even during the "rainy days" If you want to be "coached" I'd love for you to post on this topic or just throw me a PM. So ive used Saintly to get my own private hive server, everything is going smooth, but I have got a few questions. Everytime I start the server an amount of vehicles spawn. Now my question is, as it spawns new ones every server restart does the old vehicles then save? And also how can I keep it spawning the same amount of everything and just kinda keep a loadout?

(Okay, so I decided to write a story about a guy in the world of DayZ. What I did was hit respawn and start a new character. I then played through my life as if I was a real person experiencing all of this for the first time. I am going to keep playing the character, adding to the story every time I play. This is not made up. All of this actually happened to me in-game. I just wanted to show how playing DayZ really can tell a great story. Now, there is a very strong possibility that I could die. When that happens, I will try to play off my death in the story as a near-death. I will then continue writing by making up the rest of the story. That or I might do something else. I don’t know. If I get enough people who want to read this and they have any idea, feel free to tell them to me. Also, feel free to leave comments on my writing and things you think I could improve upon. My additions will be made as new posts so the first post won’t become a giant book. I don’t want suggestions like “you should find an AS50” or “you’re not very good at playing”. That’s not the point. The point is the play as if I was that character. Also, I’m sorry of this first part is too long. I actually didn’t expect it to be this long, and I think I’ll try to make subsequent entries shorter. It also took longer to write than I expected, so I’m sorry about any grammar and spelling errors. I don’t really have time to proof-read and go over them right now. Thank you for reading, and please enjoy.) Entry One, Day Zero: It begins. Entry Two, Day One: Well, I guess I should start by explaining everything. Honestly, I’m really not quite sure about anything myself, but I will give you all of the information that I have. I don’t know where I am or why I’m here. I don’t even know who I am. The only reason I am writing this is to pass the time. I am extremely bored, and this was all I could think to do. Well, I woke up today on an unknown beach. I was beyond confused. I didn’t know my own name and I had no idea where I was. I did, however, have this feeling that something was horribly wrong. I noticed that not too far away there was a small group of houses. I decided to walk over and see if any local people could tell me anything. As I stood up, I noticed a pack strapped to my back. I didn’t think much of it and walked towards the houses. As I approached, I noticed a several men out on the streets and in the their yards. The one nearest me seemed to be hopping along on the ground, like some kind of animal. I wasn’t sure what he was doing, but I walked up to him none the less. As I got closer to him, I noticed he was covered in blood and seemed to be confused like myself. I called out to him. No response. I walked closer, cautiously. Once I was within ten to fifteen feet of him, I could smell something like rotten meat, and I could see blood and flesh all over him. I slowly backed away and headed towards the next nearest man. However, as I got near this one, he turned to me. I could see he was in the same condition as the last man, and I feared for myself. My fear grew and he started to make his way towards. All of a sudden he was in a full sprint, right at me. I panicked and ran for the tree line, just past the road I was on. There was a large hill just into the trees. I ran up it. As I was making my way up the hill, I looked behind me and noticed the men chasing me seemed to be having trouble walking up the hill. I got out of sight of them while I headed up the hill farther. I kept the road in sight, and as I crested the top of the hill, I made my way back to the road. I decided to follow the road for a bit and see if I could find a town that wasn’t full of psychotic killers. It wasn’t long before I spotted a small farming village in the distance. I walked into town, hoping to find someone to talk to. I noticed a similarity to the last set of houses. Everyone was wondering around outside. Still a little suspicious, I walked closer to one of the men. However, before I was within 100 feet of him, he started running at me like the last guy. I ran away, only to attract the attention of even more people. I ran to a barn, hoping to hide there. Once in the barn, I was able to find an axe. I grabbed the axe and clutched onto as if it was my child. I watched as only one of the men came through the door. I hid in the corner, but he seemed to know where I was. As he got closer, I told him I would kill him if he came closer. He continued to approach me. I did the only thing I could do. I swung the axe. I swung it as hard as I could. Right down onto his head. He died in an instant. I gulped and dropped the axe. My hands were covered in blood. I had never killed a man before. Or, at least, I didn’t remember killing a man before. I felt terrible. I sat down for a minute and almost cried about what I had done. But then I remember who was outside. I had to do. It was me or him. I picked up the axe once again and peaked outside. Most of them had moved on by now, but a few still lingered around. I went out the back door that was facing the woods. There didn’t appear to be any back there. I ran out, trying to take the long way around the village and make my way back towards the road. One of the people saw me and started chasing me. I ran as fast as I could over several small hills, but he kept chasing me. I turned around and bore my axe at him. I told him, like I told the last guy, that I would kill him if he came any closer. He just kept coming at me, so I did what I had to. My axe came right down on his head. It cracked open, and his brains splattered all over me. I almost threw up just then. I decided to look on his body to see if I could maybe find kind of clue as to why all of these people would act like this. All I found was a can of coke in his pocket. It was surprisingly clean. At this point, I realized how thirsty I was, so I opened it and drank it. As I finished it, I noticed another person had spotted me and was running at me. This time I stood my ground, axe in hand. As soon as he got within my reach, I brought my axe down on him. It landed right on his shoulder. His collar bone snapped under my hands, and I could feel every crack and snap as the blade tore through him. There was blood everywhere. I quickly removed the axe from his body and, as he hit the ground, I brought up my axe and swung it down on his head to make sure he wouldn’t chase me ever again. With tears in my eye, and blood on my everything, I headed away from the town. I wasn’t too far from the road, and I saw a small pond near by. I stopped at the pond and washed myself as best as I could. I tried my best not to think about the things I had done to those people. But they had forced me to do it, right? There was nothing else I could do. I followed to road again for a while. It took me several hours before I found anything. Along the way, I had noticed how much trash and broken down cars filled the street. Something must have happened here. I reached an intersection that lead off to the right and to the left. I noticed a street sign, but it appeared to be in Russian or some similar language. It was obviously pointing the right to a town, but had nothing pointing left. Wanting to avoid another incident, I took the left route. It wasn’t long before I noticed it was simply taking me back the way I had come. I also noticed not far ahead was a small dirt path leading back towards the town I was trying to avoid. Since I didn’t want to go back to where I was before, I stepped onto the dirt path and followed it for a bit. It headed up a hill and into some trees for a ways. As I was making my way up the hill, I started to smell a nasty, foul stink. I kept walking, however. Soon I started to hear thousands of swarming flies. I thought that maybe it was a garbage dump or something, so I kept going up the hill. As soon as I hit the top, I saw the worst thing I have ever seen in my entire life. There was a pile of decayed, rotten corpses, with a dozen others in bodies bags near by. I ran over the other side of the hill and threw up on a tree. I wiped my mouth and got further away from the bodies. Once far enough away that I couldn’t smell the bodies, I stopped to collect myself. I remember the pack I had, so I took it off and opened it. Inside, I found a box with a few painkillers, a bandage, a can opener, this journal and a pen. I put back the painkiller and the bandage. I looked at the can opener and thanked God that I at least had something to open food if I found it. I knew I was quite hungry after everything that had happened. I put back the can opener and looked at the journal with the pen attached to the side. The covered said “Scientific Journal” in big letters, and right underneath that it was “Markus” in smaller letters. I figured this must be mine and that must be my name. I said the name out loud a few times and tossed it about in my mouth for a bit, trying to get a feel for the name. I liked it. It sounded kind of manly to me. I opened the journal to the first page and found only one thing written in it. The entry above this simply stating “It begins.” This was actually kind of concerning, because this meant I might actually have something to do with this problem. I put the thought aside and decided it wasn’t worth thinking about right now. I looked around and noticed I could see some docks in the distance. There must be a city attached to it. I headed down the rest of the hill and out of the trees. As I exited the tree line, I could see the city. It definitely didn’t look very populated, but I had to hope. I walked towards the city, but there was some sort of construction site on this end of the city. I took the long way around it, because, if this was a real city, I’m sure the workers wouldn’t appreciate me walking around on their site. I found the nearest street and started to follow it into the city proper. As soon as I got to the first intersection and could see around a building, I noticed the streets were full of those sick, murderous people. I was noticed quickly, so I ran for my life. I wasn’t far from a warehouse, so I hopped through the door, hoping to hide there. I ran to the far corner, and the followed me in. They must not have very good eye sight, because they didn’t see on the far side of the warehouse. I went out the other door, only to be spotted again by more of those people. I noticed there was a hospital right next door, so I ran there. On my way over, I lost the men around a corner. I figured if anyone could help me, it would be the hospital staff. I was disappointed to see they had all gone. However, I figured while I was there, why not grab some medical supplies, since I had no idea how long I would be out in the wilderness on my own. I found some more painkillers, a couple morphine injectors and quite a few bandages. I headed out the door only to be spotted once more. I saw an open house not too far away, so I ran there. This time they followed me in and didn’t lose sight of me. There were about six of them, and they trapped me in a corner. I used my axe to fend them off, however one of them managed to scratch me pretty bad. I was bleed quite a lot, so I used one of the bandages I had on me to stop the bleeding. Right as I was leaving the house, I noticed a camping tent in the corner. I looked outside and noticed it was getting pretty late, so it would be dark soon. I figured that if I was going to be sleeping outside, why not do so in a tent. I stuff the tent as best I could into my pack and snuck outside. I decided to try and be silent thing time. I walked slowly and silently down the road, looking for somewhere else to hide for a bit. I saw a café at a street corner with its doors open, so I jumped in there. They didn’t seem to have seen where I went, because they all dispersed about. I went to the counter and, behind it, I found a water canteen, a map and a box of matches. I figured these things would be extremely helpful. I couldn’t read the map, because it was in a language I didn’t know, but it could still be very useful. I looked around more and found a large amount of food and drink in the café. I decided that these people didn’t need it, and since I didn’t have a place to stay, I could use it more. I stuffed it all in my pack. I decided now as good a time as any to leave the city, so I ran out the back door and towards the woods not too far away. I was surprised that I was able to make it out without alerting and more of those people. Once a way into the forest, I stopped and set up my tent. I was extremely hungry by this point, so I used to the matches and some sticks I found around to make a small fire. I cooked one of the cans of food I can found over the fire and ate it. It felt good to have something warm in my stomach. I also drank a can of the soda I had found. Soda probably wasn’t the best thing for me out here, but I had no other choice. It was dark getting dark outside, and I was kind of tired, but not quite ready to go to bed yet. I felt fidgety after the event of the day, and I needed something to relieve my stress. For some reason I felt like writing, so I took our the journal with the pen. I figured I’d just keep following the format of the first entry. I’ve been thinking, and this has to be some kind of outbreak. There was military vehicles and military tents all over the place. This must be some kind of virus that makes me uncontrollably angry and hostile. I just wonder why the only bodies I’ve seen are the ones stacked up in piles. I guess it’s possible the were, well, eaten. Maybe that’s another effect of the virus. It makes you have an insatiable craving for meat. That would explain why all of them are covered in blood and flesh. Anyway, it’s getting dark and I’m pretty tired now. I’m sure no one will ever get the chance to read this, but I needed to write down what I experienced somewhere.

Hello everyone! As of today, we have added care packages to the server. These are special air drops to aid the survivors in their plight against the undead and against themselves. There are four types of care packages ranging from simple survival supplies that can be found in markets, medical supplies similar to the hospital, industrial supplies as found at factories, and military supplies. They work the same as helo wrecks currently do. There are a number of them that randomly spawn throughout the map of differing types to loot for each server restart. The gear is spread out on the ground like a helo wreck - it won't be found inside the crates. Also, we have custom weapons spawning at our helo wrecks to include some more exotic weapons not normally found in game mixed with normal weapons to increase variety. As a side note we have around 80 vehicles to include the police car among others. Server info is in my signature. Enjoy!

Our server hasn't been working correctly since Thursday. I can log on, but our vehicles and placed objects are gone (which was the reason why we switched to the private community hive). Still waiting on a solution to #200884

Did you also happen to notice the showcased tweak that makes repairing vehicles so much more intuitive?

BMRF chicago #1 Search that in DayZ commander. You have to register on the servers forum, otherwise you can't enter, the web address should show up when you try to enter the server. Owner has added new weapons on heli crash sites and changed spawn % of the best weapons at crash sites. L85 thermal has been removed and more vehicles added. More importantly active admins and no hackers etc.

Just to elaborate on what fraggle said, If you play on private servers your character is "attached" to only that server. If you play on any of the public servers your character is persistent, Meaning everytime you log back in your character will be just as you left him. Other items such as tents and vehicles are server specific, You cannot bring them to other servers.

How do you get the rMod weapons to spawn like regular DayZ weapons, and how do we get the rMod vehicles to spawn naturally on the map?

How long have you played? 2 months How old are you? 15 How Frequent do you play? when i have time in between school an sports. What role would you like to play (e.g. Sniper, Support, Medic, Assault)? I can play anything needed, i can mostly provide support though. Can you pilot a heli, or drive a vehicle with a decent amount of skill? Im not very good with a heli, but i can drive other vehicles from point A to B without any problems. Can you navigate the map? Yes What area of the world do you live in? I'm currently in school and participating in school sports. I play this game when i have free time between school and sports. Nothing major is going on right now. Are you on community or private hive? Some of the community hive customers seem to be having an issue getting stuck on loading but I've been able to fix all the private hive's very easily. Let me know the name of the server and I can take a look. Glad all is running smoothly for you! We are aware of this issue and working to solve it as soon as possible. Nitrado Server 85.131.183.127:2302 This is a privater server and ran by nitrado.net. I was playing with my friend and were just running around the server for a couple of days now. After collecting a decent amount of gear and 2 vehicles, I was kicked and banned from the server. I believe it was a Keinzter who had done it and my friend and I do not want this to be overlooked. If Keinzter (or the admin of that server) decides to abuse the admin privileges in the past, I want this to be known. Please keep this in your notes and post if you have been unjustly banned from a nitrado.net server in a similar fashion. If the admin is reading this, please post your reason for doing so and a log, thank you.

I can't prove that script kiddie "markelsim" was responsible for a mass game kill on DE 3603 at around 1830 CET 13.10. (which included yours truly and all his gucci gear), but he was definetly spawning vehicles like crazy - witnessed it first hand - and was also invulnerable. I gave up playing this game because of stupid script kiddies making it totally pointless - to get killed like that is absoutely uncool. I came back after 6 weeks, confident that a solution had been found, build up my gear, and get wiped out again in a serverkill. if there is anyway i can get my gear back that would be great. S

(I am not english speaker, possible mistakes) Camps: Such as crash sites, there would be a camps which would be spawning in forest only, you will be able to find medicine,guns,food & drinks and maybe vehicles too... ATV's, bycycles, motorbikes, sometimes cars too.. it will be in forest so a camping and sniping survivors would be almost impossible.. and if so.. the survivor will be well hided... i think it's kinda hard sniping between trees.. there will be a 10-15 zombies... maybe new class of zombies ?? o_O Infected survivor class: A fast zombie, it will be possible to find a very usefull stuff when you looting it... Maybe you should be able to find sidearms,backpacks and another "inventory loot" (morphines,food,.. everything what a survivor player call usefull) New lootable skins: you will be able to find a new "NAPA" skins in those camps, these skins offers great camouflage which looks cool :D... camo jacket, "ghillie suited torso" , jush check out a napa skins in arma :) they're cool, trust me, add them :D

you know you can have those weapons without having to script? it works like the "local" vehicles - change the weapon in your client, and the server does not care... no scripting/injcting neccesary.

New vehicles have been added to the donation shop, check them out! These new vehicles will also be added to the normal server spawn next week, you will be able to get them without donating as well :)

Search gave no results for RPG-7, thats weird. So, the idea is RPG-7 as a rare military loot, these things obviously would work with the eastern european theme, there could be 3 warheads, the most common of them being PG-7VL, a HEAT warhead, good against vehicles and personnel, then a OG-7V fragmentation warhead which is rarer as it is a straight upgrade with its higher explosive radius and the fact its still enough to mess up any legit vehicles in DayZ as you obviously wont need to engage a LAV in the mod. Then there could be TBG-7V thermobaric warhead which makes a huge explosion doing the most damage to buildings of these warheads, very rare. The RPG-7 is reloadable obviously, and it would be excellent provider of fire support if you are playing with friends, i doubt it would be overpowered as it is a pretty specialised piece of equipment. Its griefing usage by destroying loot buildings would be minimal as the warheads lack serious power against buildings, even the thermobaric one. It would also be great against (bad) helicopter pilots, as a single shot is guaranteed to bring the thing down. And those of you thinking that a random civilian in no way would know how to operate this weapon, watch this video Now you should have an idea how to operate it, perhaps your character watched random youtube videos before zombies came and broke his computer?

Well I've played it for a few months before I got bored and decided to be a bandit and just kill everyone. Before this point I've done and had everything there is. I created camps with all sorts of vehicles, helis included. In the end I felt it to be a huge walking simulator once I lost my vehicles. It was super boring to walk thousands of meters... die... walk thousands of meters again... search for loot for hours... nothing... finally get something good... walk thousands of meters... die... rinse and repeat.

Is there a list of vehicles what can and can't be inserted into the game with RMOD? I have done a Tank and a couple of vehicles but I have an awful lot which don't actually spawn.
