    Off-road Military Pickup deserves more durability

    I think the whole way the vehicles interact and work should be upgraded to some degree. I'm pretty tired of flipping randomly on small rocks and invisible objects. But yes, some more toughness for that vehicle would be nice.

    So these base building tools... do they allow players to make 100% impenetrable fortresses where they can store their 200 cars without worrying about someone stealing them? I mostly play DayZ as a lone scavenger (I never repair vehicles myself or collect loot; I always steal from others since it's so easy to find other players' camps), and if that's true, I fear I won't be able to make much progress.

  4. I love this map so much. SO MANY friendly players I hardly see bandits and have been playing on 30+ player servers/ Where are the vehicle spawns, and what vehicles can we expect? One server admin even just said he didnt think vehicles spawned on the map :S

Also, not all scripters are so obvious, a friend of mine had a private radar that was way more robust than my script based ESP, he could see literally everything in a server, items, players, zombies, vehicles, helicopter crashes, tents. All the items had boxes around them, distance from, and a name, AFAIK his is still undetected by battleye, he had fun shooting players through trees and brush from about 500m away.

We just started our fresh server last, night lots of vehicles still left to get, and are looking for more players to come join us. some of the bonuses on our server are: 3rd party anti hack mods (they are server side so no extra downloads) Extra vehicle spawns, in different locations then the originals. so more reward for exploring the map and easier to get from place to place. Friendly admins who are on almost 24/7 We have several groups already playing with us, there will be some friendly competition (our groups are good about leaving noobs alone, we only want good fair fights) We will soon be having events: King of the tent (where we put some cool loot in a tent and broad cast the coordinates at a set time), Free car bonanza (we will park a working car in a major city and who ever finds it gets it), Organised group fights (we will pick a town and a time and any one who is willing can show up for a good old gun battle) *more to come* Side chat is active and so is VoN, (but please don't use VoN in side chat, admins reserve the right to kick for annoying everyone) we currently have 3 groups and 8 regulars that play but we have a lot more room for you and your friends to come have some fun with us. Just search "free beer" and you will find us, hope to see more of you out in the coming weeks.

As a scripter allow me to clue you in on some basic facts, I don't have to teleport behind you, with a map esp I can teleport directly on top of you or 200 - 2000 meters from you, along with map esp I also had a basic wallhack with playername and distance from me in meters, if I was feeling like kiling you for shits and gigs I would do it one of two ways, both unavoidable. Method one, teleport about 200 - 300m from you and shoot at you with a Gau-8 I had spawned in killing you instantly and usually launching your corpse about 500m away, method two is similar but faster, teleport directly on top of you with playershield on, you would die instantly and never know why. Along with these methods I also had a fondness for running players over in client side vehicles, you cannot see them or hear them. The only defense against a scripter is ALT-F4 and that is only if they decide they want to shoot you with regular weapons, if you want to avoid being instakilled by a scripter, don't play the game ever. As a side note, keep an eye out for lots of death messages in a short time, this usually means someone is teleporting around and killing players, GTFO the server as soon as you see that happening.
  8. Globally banned with the last wave, using a private script injector so battleye seems to be getting their shit together, bout fucking time. Now instead of being an even larger douche and buying some poor saps stolen CD Key for 2$ I am gonna wait for standalone to come out and hope to hell it doesn't allow scripting in things like, client side vehicles that only you can see or use (although running people over in a car they cannot see or hear is mildly humorous), giving yourself a Gau-8 disguised as a makarov and around 100,000 rounds of ammo (then destroying all the cities of chernaurus with it), teleporting, godmode, and other standard hacker fare. It was entertaining while it lasted but the most fun I had with dayz was when it was new and I was unaware of all the exploiting, glitching, and hacking that was possible. Here's to hoping the standalone can deliver the good that dayz did without the mountain of terrible shit that the ArmA engine piled onto it.
  9. I've been staying out of contributing towards a public argument. But this is now way too blatant for me to not pipe up. I got home and I just opened their pbo. Wow, you didn't even hide it. It's so painfully obvious that all you did was tear open my pbos and start customizing from there. In other words, you stole literally every line of code I wrote. The people who are shouting that I don't own ideas are spot on correct. However, they do not understand why I am angry. I am not angry that RangerZ has chloroform, flipping vehicles, combat log mechanics. That's fine. I encourage people to take my ideas and write THEIR OWN code to implement them. After all, I think my ideas are the best ways to do things. Why should I require that someone find a substandard idea? But DON'T COPY MY CODE. WRITE YOUR OWN CODE. It was originally claimed to me that didn't copy a single line and just used my mod as a learning tool/reference. You're right, they didn't "copy paste". They didn't even put in that much effort. They just opened them right up and starting using 100% of my code line-for-line. Even the basic loot tables are precisely as I had them. I await their explanation for this. (Yes, I'm posting portions of my code. This is for the purposes of demonstrating RangerZ's theft and is not license to just steal it line-for-line. (Normally I wouldn't feel the need to state the obvious, but apparently everything is fair game for RangerZ to steal unless you explicitly shake your finger at the person otherwise.) Every... single... file, is 100% verbatim character-for-character line-for-line exactly how my mod is with the exception of where they custom tweaked their arrays for custom loot percentages and other miscellaneous bull shit. They did NOT "use it as a learning tool" and write their own code. If they did that, then I would have nothing to complain about. If I found parts of my code in their code, I'd be angry. But I'm finding that verbatim entire code files are 1:1 exactly like mine, because they just opened my code straight up and stole everything right out of the gate. How can you justify this?
  10. I just had a great evening playing on a server where everyone was friendly. We chatted, helped each other out, had a lot of laughs and still went about out business. Some of us travelling, others repairing vehicles and so on. It was so nice to wander around with an axe and not feel under pressure to race to the most powerful weapon. Of course, as always there was a problem - couldn't find an animal anywhere. So I'm forced to enter my 4th supermarket and each time I lose more blood from those nasty bitey people. :o Thanks guys, it was fun playing on the server with you. :) :thumbsup:

    New US Private Hive Server With Password

    Aw lame the server has a password now. My friend and I joined this server yesterday and it was so much fun to actually have a vehicle. A heli no less! Eventually we came across this stash https://dl.dropbox.c...03-22-38-77.png and decided to wreck it. We took some guns, blew up the vehicles, stole one heli, damaged the other helis (they wouldn't blow up :\) and saved the wrecks. I hate when so many vehicles get hoarded like that. 4 helis there too. Ugh. So we hoped to knock 'these guys' down a peg, had our fun and logged off. We try to come back today but the server has a password now. Is banditry not allowed here? We just saw this server in dayz commander and hoped for the best. No idea if it had rules. We would like to play there again. If it's a carebear server we would still like to play there and observe the rules. I've tried the friendly routine plenty of times. Usually stop when people keep killing me though. We too are sick of hacks, dupes, and weak admins. We never seem to have fun on a server for more than a couple of days or weeks without every vehicle in the world disappearing, or finding a crate full of hacked weapons, or finding a camp loaded with stuff that respawns every time the server restarts. We simply want to play somewhere fair. I hope you can let us in. Sorry if we ruined your fun, but the thought of actually making a difference made us happy. We thought for sure it would be another load of crap; that we would log in and all that stuff would reappear as though we never did anything. Instead we come back to a passworded server. BTW, did we make a difference? Or did everything just get reinstated as though we were never there? So many times we robbed and wrecked a camp, thinking it was making a difference, only to come back the next day and find it just as it was, like we were never there. It's me and Dr Pepper. We have a couple of other friends that might be interested in playing as well.
  12. Hey Daimyo, I started playing on your server about a week ago and really enjoyed it. At least until you guys banned me. Why did you ban me? Fuck if I know, I wasn't even online when you did it. Your reason says "Hacking, Teleporting, added to Community Ban", but that is impossible since, well, I'm too damn stupid to understand how to even begin to implement any scripts. Well no problem, I'll just go to your guys' website or teamspeak and contact someone about a ban appeal. Or maybe I won't, since you guys don't share any of the information. You won't even share your teamspeak with my friend when I ask him to go into your server and ask for it. So is this server fun? Yep, plenty of people on at all times, lots of vehicles as advertized, and base building. But be careful, you might just get banned for, I don't know, being there...
  13. Tents and vehicles work perfectly fine now. They were fixed in the last update (v1.7.2.6). Ive had 3 tents now for the past week or two, and all of my crap is saved each time. The server has been restarted several times as a test, and the tents are located within bushes and sloped forests.   14. Item duping using tents and vehicles is still in the game. There won't be any more game patches. All work is being focused on Standalone. No dogs either. Private Hives have fixed many instances of duping if you want a cleaner experience.

Here I will wait for your suggestions, answer your questions and post news about the upcoming map. I will announce everything new with a new post and edit some side notes into this start-post here. No need worrying peeps, whether this thread is in the right forum or not. My oppinion is that it belongs here because it is a suggestion for the mod to make it more cunning as it already is. For now some more impressions on what I want to implement. You may have played some Namalsk lately. That Map is beast because of it's cold feature and the cunning ambience sounds. I want to implement something similar to that in my own map outer heaven. I want an Area that is, in fact, nothing other than anything else but I want this Area to make you sick on purpose. This area will contain the military grade weapons you want to find, will consist of old ruins, dark forests and a group of monoliths for the lore. On top of that the ambience sound shall make your bones rattle and give you chills. In this area you either need to stop and rest a t fires or kick out heatpacks. Hence the connection to either Namalsk or the game "Cryostasis", this area will give you a lot of threads: Cold, Zed's, other players and thanks to some ambience sound I allready gathered some nice chills while you expect attacks at all time ;) I am currently connecting the parts of my islands to one Island and hope I will be able to code both roads and terrain rather quickly because I have the needed values allready from where I took the parts for my map, I will just need to adjust that to my own Ground-Zero of the map so they are in place where they belong. Wish me luck and soon I'll be able to show you some actual screens of outer heaven :) Alternatively I will hand out some concept arts I worked out if the screens happen to delay! Info: The textures and sounds will be similar to THQ's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Shadow of Chernobyl Tell me what you think of this idea so far and maybe even make suggestions for sounds and textures. [GENErAL INFORMATION] A new theme for the map - releasing after standalone? Well, here it is the next wall of text about mind on the map before I will release first technical data about it. In the last post i told you guys I will have a minor change of plans for outer heaven! The update is simple. I initially wanted Outer Heaven to be a PvP map but PvP is natural and does not need another Utes-like map. Instead of this I will give Outer Heaven a stronger atmosphere and a darker theme. Alongside castle-like buildings and a mansion complex I will implement a theme of survival for this map, and this is going to be what this theme contains: A dark, cloudfull sky that is allways dark by changing the skybox if possible, darker colours for all textures, giving it an european game look by removing colors and darkening the scene. I will make those buildings that spawn food and supplies rarer and those who spawn bigger guns even rarer than that. Outer Heaven will become a map for survival fans. It will give DayZ a "hard but fair" touch and it won't be as easy to survive on outer heaven since you will need to go some longer ways to get food. Other than that hunting will be way more important and you need to keep an eye out for animals and gut them as a big source of food income. There will only be one lake where you an refill your water bottle meaning this lake will be a hotspot for PvP and survivalists. Why will I release even after standalone if neccessary? Just cause... thats why. I think the Mod-Community won't die so soon and I want to contribute to this community because I will stay on the mod for sure, even while playing standalone. Sadly rocket might never read this thread because I want to try and give DayZ what it missed a long time now: Survival. Zombies will become mean monsters once again because supplies are rare and you will not be able to eat your way up to 12k again so easy unless you go hunting much. This map will be meant to be for the more hardcore gamers amongst you. If I get this map on servers I will reduce spawns of supplies and increase zombie spawns, make them attack harder and give them their danger back! As allways, this is just telling you my mind, stay tuned for first details on terrain and size of the actual map, and how I think I will build it faster than normal. Allways remember: This is going to be one of the maps that are not ported from ArmA developers or former community geniuses before you guys even thought of DayZ. This will be a DayZ themed map that is specifically made for the mod as it is. Greetings, Pax [OUTDATED] For the start I will tell you my general Idea for the map and want your oppinion on it so I see in which way that Idea could be improved. The idea itself was born when I first played Lingor because I was sick and tired of Chernarus after a lot of playtime. l actually saw everything ingame, had my standard run-in's with Bandits, some good fights and raids but somehow DayZ grew a bit tiresome for me, not because of the mod itself but of places to see. The newest maps are some nice opportunities to see some new stuff and I enjoyed every single one of them, but soon after that again everything was seen and got a bit boring. What I wanted was some endgame content, something to strife on after you reached nearly anything ingame, saw all places and still wanted to roam the land for a purpose. That was the time I started thinking about a way to give DayZ a thing that would work like a system that gives you the chane for better loot by fighting for it. There were some ideas about arena fights but planning them would have taken too much time to be funny in the end. Another thing are griefers and hackers that make looting even harder. But what if there was something that did not spawn the big boy guns on helo's but in one place where people actually could fight against each other to take the price? That's when I realized that I should consider making a map that gives DayZ veterans an opportunity to have some gunslinging for a purpose again. I came up with the idea of a map that would be structured in two ways, one to get your standard gear and survive against the apocalypse and the other would make things hard for players. I have the idea to build one area on the map that is ideal for pvp, where people could go that actually want to fight and would rather die in an all-out-assault than while grabbing a can of beans. This area would house the more valuable spawns all in one, that could be contested and held by clan-server owners and people would be able to try and sneak into this area to grab stuff or bring friends and fight the clan or group that currently occupies it. Besides that there will be standard DayZ elements like bigger and smaller towns, farms inland and a standard airfield for the more PvE-ish players. As for the PvP area: There will be ways to defend it and there will be ways to infiltrate it, both on easy and hard ways, whether you like most. This are will be all about fighting and tactical gameplay, the reward will be vehicles (I will make sure that they won't be hideable elswhere, that makes sure vehicles finally become something you need to protect and retrieve back if stolen.) and better weaponry than you can find inland (See it as PvP gear). Yet again this designated area might reduce campers since they get their spot and you know that you need to tuck your head in in this area to avoid camper fire (here I will also implement element's that prevent campers from killing everybody by simply adding obstacles that need skill to kill a cover-seeking attacker from the camping-spots). Campers are not something to change, on this map as I imagine it I WANT CAMPERS to hunt people through their scopes and therefore this map is for those who understand how to play DayZ in the "correct way" Rocket once described as "Play as if there is a crosshair on your head at all times". With this map I want to bring DayZ back to the days where skill weighted more than an as50. This contested map was born in my mind under the name of OUTER HEAVEN since it is housed on an island and the Metal Gear Fans amongst you will know which kind of PvP area I thought of. With this information at hand, because I don't want to give away the surprise just yet, I leave you with the thoughts and hope you will pot your very own oppinion on what you read.   16. Hello my fellow bean lovers, havent done a suggestion for a while so things may not be up to scratch. In real world, weather can effect nearly everything, even gun scopes. So why not implement this into DayZ? RAIN - Rain drops appear on your scope, making blurring objects in-front of the rain drops. - You can wipe your scope, but you need to wipe it for 5 seconds for it to be fully clear, or scope will become blurry, rain drops wont form for 30 seconds. - Mud can splatter onto your scope if crawling through mud/grass, same with rain drops, you can wipe it for your scope to be clean again. (maybe longer?) SNOW/ICE (IF IMPLEMENTED) - If its snowing or temperature is below 0 ice could form on the scope, making scope size smaller until wiped off. - If snowing, snow flakes could appear on the scope but would melt after 0.5 seconds. - Condensation could occur? HOT WEATHER - Dust could form on the scope and small grains could form, but if not cleaned it will be harder to see through. - Dust could form standing behind/ by vehicles. Hope these suggestion are some what decent, will update if there is ideas i like! UPDATE: Heavy breathing causes scope to fog up in cold weather

    My first acc was banned, I was only posting about how some players don't know shit about what a scripter can do. I've seen multiple times people say, they can spawn in vehicles, NO THEY CAN NOT. Almost all public methods are patched, a people know how to do it, but batteeye makes a lot of cool stuff impossible without a remote execution bypass, like spawning in vehicles, turning invisible spawning weapons/ammo on players, and a bunch of other stuff.

We are a small group playing together on a Private server, currently we have 3 clans and a few peoples playing solo. the server was always full but we have been hit by hacker every night. we make the choice to reset the server to Zero and whitelist it. If you are interested to play on a brand new server, it's time! the Server should be reset tonight around 21h00 GMT -5 . Come have fun with us, mature player only please!!!   19. I haven't played in about 2 months. I was wondering if the saving of tents and vehicles are still bugged. can you put stuff into the tents and vehicles after they've been saved and still have it there after reset? can you place them near trees and not have it dissapear after reset and so on? And are there any other big changes I should be aware of? Are there dogs in the game yet for example?
  20. The intensity on this server just ratcheted to the next level. Last night we were ambushed at our base camp after it was exposed by a non aligned survivor (NAS). We tried escaping the hideout using our heli, but our pilot died mid flight, because he didn’t have a bleeding icon for whatever reason. After respawning, we found that the CDA guys were looting our camp. One of our guys (depraw) at around the same time, happened to run to their stock pile of vehicles and gun. Depraw then takes a Ural filled with various automatic weapons, and comes to pick me and Rayz up. I equip myself with a m240 and prepare to retake our base. Now mind you, the Ural is very loud. You can hear this thing from a click away. The CDA guys must have had a spotter, or were done looting our gear and came to face us head on. We decided that it might be the best to stand our ground and fight. We all pile out of the vehicle and get ready for the fight. The clan comes at us in two jeeps, flanking us with one while we’re distracted. They have us outnumbered at least 3 to 4. The firefight continues for a few minutes, with me trying to get a better position on top of a hill, but we can’t finish them off. They manage to take us all out and take back the Ural with all their loot. Rayz, depraw and myself both get pretty close spawns next to each other (and the CDA base) and we decide to hoof it up North to try to get there before they return. Rayz had a few minutes on us, and got there first. He takes and UAZ with some gear and prepares to leave. Just outside of their camp, depraw and I make our approach. About 100 meters from their camp, the CDA guys make it back in their Ural. Rayz gets demolished as the van just rolls right through him. Depraw and I are now in a full sprint to get to a vehicle, hoping to get out of their alive. We both grab a UAZ and try to make it out of there. Might attempt is futile as I’m shot and killed through my windshield. Depraw manages to make it out of there alive with some gear in tow. At this point, we suspect that the clan cleaned up the camp and called it a night. We, could not let the night end in that way. We regrouped at our original base camp, geared up with whatever we had left, and started making our way back to the CDA camp. We arrive to the camp, and notice that they’ve taken most of the gear from the vehicles that are left. Just to make sure that they can’t use any of the vehicles, we line them up in a straight line and blow them all up. We roll off into the sunset, feeling victorious. But only time will tell how this conflict will end…
  21. Day 9.... Camp Carnage !! Just in time for Halloween, it would see were the horrors and carnage that befell our campsite Tuesday night. It began in the dark sky to the north, Eatme trucking thru the forest in a white pickup that the day before he had wrapped around the tree, kids seriously natural light and driving do not mix. He was setting out on this repair adventure to right his previous wrong and return the pick up to the campsite, upon arriving at the camp he determined it would be a fine idea to park underneath the camo canopy. Driving forward with the greatest of ease he collided with the canopy and BOOM, the vehicle went up in flames and his mostly burnt corpse lay closely on the ground. The fire must have been a beacon of hope and joy for the van driving psychopath that found the campsite, after Chase was killed just a few hundred meters south of camp Marcus made his way swiftly back in an attempt to defend our base. After exchanging fire he was taken out by the assailant who was wielding a handgun (not sure how that happened, lucky shot I suppose), Eatme then made his way back to camp to see if he could fair better, he did not. Several minutes passed before Eric finally logged into camp, by that time it was far too late the amphibious vehicle was gone the remaining vehicles in camp were ablaze. Gathering up the pieces of the wrecked base, we sat forth onto new plains of adventure and in hopes of finding the one responsible in the near future.

  23. That wasn't what I wrote. I don't object to a server restarting every day or two, but I do object to a server restarting in a manner that loses vehicles every day or two. A daily restart is fine, but if every third restart loses all my stuff, then that's a no-go. Basically, I'm looking for the same thing that most legitimate Day Z players are looking for, only I have the added requirement of Expert (a.k.a. Mercenary) difficulty. Happily, it looks like Kerbouchard's server fits my bill, but it uses the beta version of A2:CO. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the the Steam version of the A2:CO beta to recognize Day Z. As soon as I get it sorted out, I'll check out his server. : )

I have decided to turn it to private because it is unfair to every one that looses items over and over again and to the Admins (mainly me) that have to check logs, find the hackers and ban ect, ect!     Progressive controls

    Vehicles: Use Joystick or gamepad and switch to analogue throttle for progressive collective up/down and thrust. Trying to fly a helo or plane with keyboard/mouse isn't really precise in the long run. I've seen a lot of players flip their helos and lose control because they have pressed certain buttons too long and when using auto hover it looks awkward and crude. Character: Would be great but it would make it a lot more complicated, but beeing able to use more than just stand, crouch and prone would be ok, wouldn't it?
