  1. You don't find any vehicle on your server or they don't spawn at all ? When the first player comes on your server on start, look at your arma2oaserver.rpt file, and, above the "Hive: Starting" line you have to see each vehicle name. Like this : (...) 10:05:23 "HIVE: Starting" 10:05:26 "HIVE: Request sent" 10:05:26 "HIVE: Commence Object Streaming..." 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137265 - ATV_US_EP1" 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137266 - ATV_US_EP1" 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137267 - ATV_US_EP1" 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137268 - ATV_US_EP1" 10:05:26 "OBJ: 5137269 - ATV_US_EP1" (...) You clearly see the vehicles spawning. If you don't see anything, look at your HiveExt.log, there is maybe errors.

    Chopper hiding spots

    That island is definitely out of bounds, don't know if out of bounds vehicles/camps are deleted automatically, but I consider hiding vehicles outside the boarders of the detailed map an exploit. My chopper survived the night, but I know every time I log off, it's back in play. No 100% guarantees in DayZ, I think that's what I like about it.

    Noob looking for a home.

    We run a whitelisted private hive based in the UK, we are looking to get a few more players on the server. Even if you are just starting out I'm sure that a lot of the players would be more than willing to help you out and get started. Our server has the hive backed up once every hour in case something major happens and we've also added a few extra vehicles including 2 extra choppers.   4. Hi all, I've come here looking to gather a consistent player base. We are a friendly bunch looking for new survivors, heroes and bandits. There is no whitelist so feel free to jump in and have fun. We have also begun to implement custom buildings/locations throughout the map. As it stands right now we have the following: - 1x Supermarket in Kamenka - 1x Firestation in Zelenogorsk - 2x Barracks in Balota - 1x Barracks & 2x Military Tents in Green Mountain - 1x Hospital & 2x Panelax (apartment buildings) in Vybor - 3x Barracks in North East airfield - 2x Barracks & 3x Hangars in North West airfield - Brand new military camp (at 086 052) with 2x Barracks & 1x Medical Tent We are open to suggestions and will try to only add things of value to the map. With enough players we will consider using a bounty system where we will occasionally set a bounty on a player's head (you may opt out of this if you wish).   5. I would like to give credit where credit is due. Apparently the Dayz.st server host was "hacked". From what I gather the "hacker" managed to do an OS reinstall on all or most of their machines. INCLUDING the dayz.st website. We where down about 10 hours or so. We came back up and the database was restored like nothing happened. Had it been ANYBODY else Im sure the downtime would have been at least ten times as long. And Im also sure that it would have been all F'ed up. Dayz.st managed to recover from the worst case scenario in a very short amount of time. So my hat goes off to you. Ok, i need a guille suit and as50 ammo, or a M14 with ammo - i will trade pretty much anything i have so say what you want and i will say if i have it, i have a FN FAL i don't want and a helicopter and ATV but still say what you want - i will pick the server seeing as it has my vehicles ok from pics you can see im not a bandit im friendly see you in game :)

  9. 1) What is our proposal ? Private hive server, protected with anti cheat systems and anti-cheat tools like Pwnz0r spectator tool. Server is also whitelisted to prevent from entering by random ppl. Server is hosted by main admin wchich is one and only that have access to database so possibility for other admins to cheat using database is removed. All overpowered "one shoot one kill" weapons were taken off or spawn chance is really really small. AS50 and M107 is totally removed, M107 sometimes accidently spawn but it's removed by admin manually. L85 AWS is also removed. Instead of those weapons you can find a lot of other weapons that are not banned in DayZ. Spawn chances of all weapons, especially those ones on heli crash sites are slightly reduced. Especially FN FAL and FN FAL AN/PVS-4 which were spawned in huge numbers. Spawn of crucial items like NVG, Rangefinder are modified time to time by main admin. Goal is to have few of each items per server, so if some items vanquish, chances are raised. When enough items are in players hands chances are reduced to 0%. That way we prevent from inflantion of top-high quality items. There is also a change in spawn rate of top equipment, coyote backpack and ghille suit. Here is some data about spawn chances of modified items: (0.01 means 1%) http://imageshack.us...7/broniehe.png/ There is also change in vehicles spawn rates. Number of vehicles is increased but spawns are delayed. So if vehicle is destroyed, next chance may occur next few days but not immediately. There is also a change about UH-1. There is only 1 UH-1 on the server. After it's destroyed it's spawned randomly next 4-7 days manually by main admin (there is no chance to guess when UH-1 comes back into the game). 5) Statistics We are working on statistics table. If you want, you could type in regulator on YouTube, a couple of us have made videos on the kind of thing we do.

  14. It happened in DayZNamalsk Max Vehicles + Nightvision at Spawn(0.60/99153)[VETERAN CH:ON][uTC-5]-Hosted by Walkerr at approximately 9:00 - 9:10 pm. Est. We came across the group when one of our lagging members died behind us and he said there are about 3 or 4 of them after announcing that he had seen a hacker crate. We dont normally back down from fights, so we turn around and begin fighting. We end up killing everyone of them except for the God mode guy, "Imma Eatch Yo Faec". We all ended up dying and then after confronting him about it, he began teleporting us over and over again and killing us with an m14. I was not able to get his friends names, but they weren't god mode, so I wasn't as sour. I should have put my nightvision on, but I believe you can see everything you need to. lol.

    I pretty much stay on the same servers. Actually I really avoid camping or getting vehicles. Both are an extreme liability, especially for solo play. I have a coyote backpack and use two primaries that share ammo. Don't have to carry bloodbags. There's plenty room for my camp on my back

Before coming into Chernarus, OVERTURE mainly operated only inside the US, but seeing the financial opportunity in countries outside of the US, the company decided to move out and branch out into the world. The first outpost and HQ outside of the US, was a base located in Chernarus. Business was slow to begin with, but recent mysterious disappearances in the area had the locals on edge. Soon business was booming, getting hired by many for protection services around the area by decent sized companies had moral in great shape. Then it happened. The Apocalypse. OVERTURE quickly fell in Chernarus and was inevitably split up. Few members are with each other, and that is why we are asking for recruitment possibilities. WHAT OVERTURE DOES OVERTURE is a group of Private Military Contractors, or Mercenaries. What we do is provide military services (Raids, protection, recon etc.) to you for a price. The price usually consists around either Ammo, or weapons, vehicles etc. More rarer the item, the more the value.   17. I'm strongly against this whole 'skills' notion. What if all depends on the player? Not on some artificial system of skills and 'experience'. Let's say someone would like to be a good medic, well, then the player should have to practice it, heal people and learn from it. What if there was a complicated wounding system? This would require the player to have extensive knowledge about wounds, the severity and the correct treatment. Make it so that the player has to inspect the patient's body for injuries and apply the right treatment. Let's take a bullet wound for instance. The medic would inspect the wound, see if the bullet is still in there and needs to be removed or not, perhaps check if anything vital was damaged. He would then have to decide the right treatment. Treating the wound badly would end in the patient not getting better or worse. Of course all of this would be visually presented so no text hints, this will require the medic to have actual experience at healing people, not some magic ingame 'skill'. The same method could be used for fixing vehicles.
  18. v1.7 is up guys, adding four new community maps, which hopefully includes the full set of available maps so far. This has increased the app size to around 30MB from 20MB, although the pros outweigh the cons! I've also limited the amount of zoom level available on the maps. This will reduce the ugliness of zooming right in, however I do realize higher resolution maps equals easier reading of names, buildings, etc. Its a balance between the resolution size of maps, and the size of the app itself. A new mapping platform will be added to DZC in the future. This will improve performance signifiantly, with moving around the map itself, and toggling of layers on the Chernarus map. This will be planned after Chernaus Plus is released with Standalone. Also included is three new aircraft vehicles which was added to DayZ with the recent patch. Information on most of these vehicles are still to be finalized. I am helping with DayZWiki on updating this. Cheers.

The Goal: Make it possible for players to create their own base anywhere* by using a "Mobile Construction Vehicle" (This name could be reserved by Command and Conquer...) * (mostly anywhere - i would not allow bases built in or near citys) The Idea: (Secure) Player bases would give this game a really exciting feature that would encourage team play and grouping and also bringing PvP to a whole new scale while battling for a clanbase Introducing: The MCV Its basically a transport Truck like the Ural (there are several versions of it in Arma the Ammo Transport could be used). When found this truck had to be repaired like all other vehicles. Other statistics are: loud, slow on terrain, high fuel consumption. This MCV could be driven anywhere* and there converted into the "blueprint" of a base. This would consume this MCV forever (and it could then respawn). The base would require building materials to set up then. There would be different "building stations" where you could fill in the right amount of building materials and then construct one feature of the Base. The Base would still resemble more of a "fortified field camp" with the "wreck" of the MCV in the middle. Possible Base features: - Watchtower with ladder (and maybe optional bulletproof glass so you could really watch the surroundings but not be shot (not shoot yourself either) - Wire fencing around the base - Big Storage Tent with lockers - Concrete Walls around the base - Closable Metal Gate (with a "lock and physical keys" as proposed in other Posts) - Camouflage Nets - Gun Tower with interactable M240 - Electrical Generator (requires Fuel) - Lighting towers (requires electrical Power) I am sure you can think of many more ideas. I would introduce different building part types and use them for different "projects": - Electrical building parts - Mechanical BP - Concrete - Metal I am not sure if this rather complex project can be achieved with arma 2... but perhaps for the comming standalone version it could be implemented.
  20. I was just reading a thread about changing the way things take up room in the backpacks. We know you are not going to be packing around 4 jerrycans or tires in a backpack. It's a game so compromises have to be made so you can actually do things otherwise you would not have any vehicles to play with.. It's a balance of realism and game play. People just need to use a little common sense and think that yes some of the things we can do are not realistic but otherwise there would be much less to do in the game.

    Operation Dogfight -- Private Servers

    Swore i updated the server automated messages, guess i missed it... I had given up hope that the server files was gonna get released :) But yes am intending to switching over to Taviana maps, only just found out about it last night... Already have begun work to add the custom code i using atm to the map.. i.e custom debug monitor / random spawn loadouts (toning down abit) / slightly custom loot / custom vehicles I am aiming for 2 servers setup & running thursday day/night sometime. That way we have a nice stable start for the weekend And will also avoid me tinkering with servers on friday... ------------------- ------------------- As for what servers are left running, still haven't decided yet, and there prob be anything set in stone till after the weekend. Be nice to focus on only 1 map, plus i dont want to overload the server.... nice to keep it running smooth. Panthera is fairly low pop, so its prob gonna get shutdown..... Lingor i might keep 2 servers up, or just the 1 server up & move all tents to IE#11, not sure yet. Lingor really just is a random pvp map & its v.hard to hide any sort of stash.... i have seen some v.ingenious methods of hiding tents...

    Alright mate! Just what I was looking for. Name: Patrick In Game Name: MRTrackFinder Age/Hours and days you can play DayZ: 17, I can play all week, but in the weekdays (mon-fri) I can only play after 4PM unless stated otherwise. On the weekend, I can play for however long and whenever I like. How long have you spent playing DayZ and any other Military Simulators? I've been playing DayZ for several months (6 months or more) after I was intrigued by a youtube video (I have now watched A LOT of clan videos, haha) and have had an incredible time since. During this time, I have... I have played with many team mates and have trained right up from the coastal beginner to the dude up north with his sweet gear and weather beaten skin. I have piloted many helicopters after being trained by a friend, and also trained on the arma heli simulator. I can drive other vehicles successfully, aswell. I have been exposed to a lot of PVP situations, and through careful gameplay have quickly learned all the tips and tricks and know how to handle myself. I now also have a decent knowledge of what's what in dayz in general. As for other simulators... I have previously enjoyed operation flashpoint, and have played several missions on the regular arma aswell as exploring the mods for arma. I'd like to say I have a lot of experience, and enjoy the realism. I also played a lot of the older battlefields (hoping that counts, I also own BF3, but it's basically CoD now.) Where about in the UK are you located: England, South East, Norwich area. I don't really have a regional accent. Anything else you would like to add: I'm a polite, friendly and knowledgeable person, I won't let you down! I enjoy chenarus on a public hive, as all my gear is there. I have, and can get, all new maps. I use DayZ commander. I also realise that we're all human and make mistakes, so I will never be angry or innapropiate ingame.
