Hey all. I bought Arma II quite awhile ago to play DayZ. I was really enjoying the MOD because it was so hard and unforgiving. And it was nothing like any zombie game I've ever played. With that being said, I stopped playing the MOD because of all of the problems it had. For example, zombies hearing perfectly through walls and buildings, randomly breaking my leg, zombies clipping through doors, getting sniped on the beach as soon as I spawned, overall instability and what threw me over the edge finally were the hackers. Whether being instakilled, teleported in front of them and forced to PVP, even if they were being nice and spawning vehicles for people and weapons, it broke immersion terribly. Granted the last version I played was 1.3.xx My question is.. is the MOD still incredibly frustrating? Is it worth re-installing? Or should I save myself the headache and wait for Standalone? Thanks for your time, Cheffy.

Female players should have the option of stripping down naked and saying very loudly "I hope nothing ruins this risky skinny dip I'm about to make followed by a lovely nude picnic" and then be chased screaming, breast flailing through the forest by a horde of cannibal zombies. Dies Irae should play with intense gun fights with a flock of pigeons flying from behind objects around the winner. Walking away from vehicles slowly that are destroyed should have them explode violently with no damage to the player. Players should be able to cock their guns when aiming at another player and deliver an awesome one liner like "Your luck just ran out" or "Whose got the beans now?" Gun fights should include appropriate bullet time/slow motion sequences for shots that hit from impossible distances or impossible circumstances.

DE 1337 [Private Hive] [Passworded to keep Hackers away]

Hello fellas, i want to announce our Private Hive Server just went online. Our Server was meant to be Public, but after 2 Days of testing we had big issues with Hackers. So we decided to password protect it. After we did that not even one hacker joined our Server and we had a plenty time of fun. This Server is located in Germany, it runs on a dedicated machine that is maintained by me every day. The Database is getting backed up every 12 Hours, to protect your goods. Currently the Server is set to Daytime only, to let the guys farm their NVG's. In the next weeks, we will enable the day- and nighttime cycle. So everyone has a chance to get NVG's. The Server restarts every 4-6 Hours, that is announced 15 Minutes before it actually restarts, so you have enough time to save your tents and vehicles. Did i mention? The tents and vehicles saves are working, so you dont have to worry about losing some gear or your stored stuff. To provide you an even better experience, we set up our own Teamspeak³ Server. So you can talk & chat with ur buddies, while raiding cities and camps ;). To actually get the password, you just have to join our Teamspeak server, talk a bit with us. When we think your ok, we will message you the password. The password will be changed every 2 weeks, to provide additional protection again random hackers, that recieved the password by their "friends". So, if you want a flawless, non-laggy and very fast loading Server, you're welcome to join our teamspeak server. 85.114.137.41 The Server is monitored 24/7 by a logparser. So far about 50 Scriptkiddies got detected and instantly banned. The the basic feautures: Extremly fast loading times No Desync (red chain) Very friendly players Vehicle & Tents are saving themselve after 1 hour. Actually saving Vehicles and tens ;D Backups every 12 hours. Stable playerbase Sidechat enabled See you in Chernarus. ;) PS: You don't need to talk with us in Teamspeak. Just join in and poke one of the admins to get the password! -
Private hives and illegal vehicles - general inquiry

It's a private server so you can do whatever you want, the community will brand you a shit server if admins are spawning vehicles for themselves though. 1) Yes. 2) Nothing -
Maybe a few more vehicles than the ones currently available.But no "parking lots".

For gameplay reasons I hope not too many vehicles are added. Perhaps there should be more repairable cars but make them harder to repair then. Having a working vehicle in a zombie apocalypse should me something special rather than everyone on the map having one. I always avoid those servers with 100's of vehicles and 10's of choppers. Completely goes against what DayZ is about IMO. -
I like common vehicles because I'm usually too lazy to look for parts to repair and fuel them. Also, vehicles are fun and cool no matter what. Yesterday a survivor gave me two Volgas with a total of 6 jerry cans, an M249 SAW with 750 rounds, two FN FALs and ammo, replacement parts, the list goes on and on. That's basically how I get all my vehicles. B)

seems like you retextured all the vehicles and reduced the spawnrates and removed certain stuff, but did you also add more content, make the map bigger added new buildings? i need to know more

*Update* Dec.14 Me and a friend found a hacker camp before this update we took all the legit guns and blew up the hacked ones it was obvious that it was hacked because there was G36's alien snipers lupa mags idk what they were for. Either way a ton of hacked gear was destroyed a few hacke vehicles were blown up too. The entire camp gone now. Any questions about it pm me if you think it's nessissry.

It's amazing how easily people can find insignificant unrelated issues about simple suggestions. A zombie still weighs an easy 60-80 kg, even a Military offroad which I believe is a Land Rover Defender wouldn't be able to take too many hits from zombies until breaking. Maybe in the future we can build proper cattle bumpers or a cow catcher on the vehicles for moving down zombies in mass.

I'm happy with the number of vehicles. I think most cars in any given area will be used to try and escape the zombie apocalypse so we really should only be dealing with the broken down dregs. Making them more common would practically eliminate the chance encounters in the middle of the woods that could really go either way. People would just be zipping about from heli crash to heli crash and only coming into contact in these kind of areas. Cars will be more dangerous to have in the next patch anyway. At the moment, as soon as you have a car you can ignore the zombies due to them not spawning as you drive and not being able to attack you in the car. The new patch will have zombies spawn as you drive by and they will be able to drag you out the car. Will certainly make navigating the roadblocks/debris a bit more hairy, especially in cars that aren't great off road. I would like to see a bit more variety in the type of vehicle and spawn locations. Who wants to be just another guy in a white pick up when you could have a nice land rover? The set spawn locations make it too easy for the vehicles to get hoovered up.

Nah just leave it, there's too much good stuff I this game / mod to share, I hope all those who uninstalled don't bother with the Game any more, as it will leave more time for me and my mates to play. It's come a long way since the times your mentioning, vast improvements and some great maps. Some new features and different ways of playing! New vehicles and weapons! Nah you won't like it!

Two hours fixing up a Apache and you never thought - this is not in standard DayZ, why is it here? I don't think they should allow 'non-standard' DayZ vehicles in private servers - then there is no question about what can and can not be found and used. But thats just my thought -

Ive played on several private hive servers, and I do enjoy having several vehicles on the map. I play for the realism, and in an actual zombie apocalypse all of the working vehicles woulden't just dissapear now would they? On the other hand, I don't like the idea of vehicles being as rare as makaraovs. They should still be something it takes some skill to work for, and maintain. We wouldent want every sinlge bambi running around with a huey crashing them repeatedly into cherno now would we? So no, they shouldent be as rare as a markarov, but in the standalone I would like to see them not take four days of hunting to find an unclaimed vehicle, simply for the realism aspect of it.

what server are you playing on? All I ever see is 200+, 300+ vehicles in the title, but never really see more than usual. What you are describing is the type of server I would like to play on for a while.

I agree that adding additional vehicles to a server can be a positive. It allows players to meet with friends faster and also encourages team work to get non functioning vehicles working. Some servers take it way to far though with the amount they add.

We run a whitelisted private hive based in the UK, we are looking to get a few more players on the server. Even if you are just starting out I'm sure that a lot of the players would be more than willing to help you out and get started. Our server has the hive backed up once every hour in case something major happens and we've also added a few extra vehicles including 2 extra choppers. Server News: Restarts are every 8 hours, Timezone is GMT -5 Side Channel is disabled. Use our 64 slot Teamspeak 3 Server. All Air Vehicles and Weapon Restrictions have been removed from the server! 100% DayZ Server Tents no longer removed after death (they stay for 999 days) Dogs are on the server (alas very buggy) Kind regards Mac
