1. It's a cool idea, but in a fairly slow game like DayZ there are only a few times when you even have the opportunity to fix things, let along need to do it quickly. I could see it being useful for morphine or blood transfusions. It would just depend on how fast they want to make these actions in the future. 2. Cool idea. Don't know how they would do it, but cool. 3. There should be a lot more you can do with a heavier heli like the Mi-17, even carry small vehicles. Then again, the thing probably shouldn't be a flying warehouse. 4. Yeah, I'd probably rather blow my brains out that have to play with a bum leg and my ass flapping in the wind.

So I searched around to see if these were posted about specifically, and they weren't. Or at least not in the way I am about to describe. 1. Proficiencies Now before everyone yells at me for this, allow me to explain. This is not skills or anything like that. Think like this: When you just start, yur character is your average Joe. But let's say you run around and fix tires and engines a lot. Your proficiency would go up. Not levels or some huge amount. Imagine it like the "humanity" function. You give a bandage or blood transfusion and your humanity goes up until you hit the hero skin. The proficiency would work kind of like that, except give a subtle boost to the speed of doing specific actions. For example, fixing vehicles if it were based on a 1000 point scale: Replace a tire = 25 Replace the windscreen = 25 Repair the hull = 50 Repair the engine = 75 While the boost would work like this: 0 = 0% boost 100 = 5% boost 200 = 10% boost 400 = 15% boost 800 = 25% boost 1000 = 35% boost This would add an additional layer of realism, as most people can't just plop a new engine into any vehicle, let alone repairing a Huey. Learning by doing. 2. Fire Propagation I can hear the hackers and trolls laughing at this one. Semi-realistic fire propagation. Think Minecraft meets Far Cry 3. The fire only spreads so far, and the terrain is adversely affected. This would go perfect with the suggestions I've seen for fire engines and other emergency vehicles. This would definitely bump the difficulty when you're in a storm and lightning strikes. A forest fire would induce panic to the local players and encourage teamwork and interaction, perhaps even an elaborate bandit trap. 3. Realistic Vehicle Storage As an avid pilot in DayZ, I can honestly say that the Mi-17 should really hold more than what it can. This could use a serious overhaul to allow us to have more than a few dozen magazines in a transport helicopter. 4. Disabilities I know Rocket has confirmed many new ways to kill off survivors, but you could always use some more. One must take into consideration that the average life span will still be very short in the standalone. Lasting Deafness (not permanant) Obscured Vision (concussion) Partial Blindness (flashbang) Permanant Deformities (break your leg, you oughta limp for a while) Paralysis (not being able to move a part of your body, say an ar if you were shot or took a hatchet to the shoulder) That sums up my ideas currently, except for one. Suicide You're stuck in a zombie filled hell and you've got a broken leg, dysentry, and cholera. You should be able to put your gun to your head and pull the trigger. Why be a burden on your friends, or worse yet, be trapped all by your lonesome in the Cherno fire station tower with a horde after you? Just some ideas. Feedback is more than welcome, as I am not a genius nor do I think of everything. Have a great whatever it is where you are!

Custom Military Base When the military and civilians learned that ZIV (Zombie Infectious Virus) had made its way to the Island of Taviana they quickly set up a impromptu military base in a field outside of Solibor between the capital City of Sabina and the City of Lyepestok. This was to be a last resort base where the uninfected could fall back to if the zombie population became too strong. Unfortunately it did and it did fast, a small group of military personal and civilians made it to the base - code name LR Alpha. By the time they had made it there the team working on the base had finished the setting up the exterior walls, the tents, the lookout towers, the gates, painting heli pads onto the field and where nearing completion on a permanent military barrack. Somehow ZIV spread into the LR Alpha and as the virus took over the population it drove the barrack construction crew insane. Reports have it that the construction crew built the barrack with double doors throughout to try and be safe from catching ZIV. Best places to pitch a tent/make a base?

I've had a lot of trial and error experience with campsites on Namalsk. That said, I had a camp with two tents for around half a month hidden in plain sight. The West point area--broadly speaking--is one of the best, but far off the beaten path if you are without a vehicle. Along the road to Western army checkpoint is another. I don't know if hackers/cheaters use ESP to find vehicles, but I have hidden cars and even a helicopter in places not visible from the air and well screened from roads, etc. and I think the longest I have had one is just a few days before it is discovered and "borrowed". -

We don't have a fancy or funny name, we don't offer donor perks and we are staying around for a long time to come. Recently, we have added starting gear of a Mak/1 clip/axe/2 bandages and NVG since we think night play is still valid and fun There is no need for 100+ vehicles! We have it set to 60 as it is a nice mix, but they are guaranteed to not be fully repaired and full of gas. Some work will be required to make them run. I think the biggest over all flaw in dayz the mod or the stand alone is that there is very little end game. Which is fine by me, but what is not fine by me is that you make your own end game, say stockpiling weapons for example and there is absolutely NO way to keep them safe. Vehicles can be spotted from miles away and either stolen or blown up and tents are no better. I understood there was talk of underground bases, in my opinion the stand alone must implement something like. If all else fails some kind of small inventory system like WarZ, which I'd be loath to see as it would ruin immersion. Since I mostly play by myself and when I do play, it's only maybe a couple of times a week but for quite long periods of time then it is absolutely impossible for me to protect my gear. The gear that I spend alot of time and effort collecting so that I can reduce down time after getting killed. Which I don't think is a bad thing... But every bloody time I make a camp, it get's raided or utterly destroyed. Which makes the entire process of collecting extra loot completely pointless. I'll admit that it's made me quite bitter to the dayz mod and I've taken the gloves off now. If I don't get to enjoy my end game then no one else on the server I play on are going to enjoy theirs. Every single person I see from now on is going to be sent packing to the "you are dead" screen. Absolutely no exceptions. -

I agree, I was conisdering voting on this poll until I realized it made hardly any sense. Once SA is out there is really no reason to play the mod. Custom servers are out of control with infinite vehicles and weapon loadouts on spawn. I'd like to spend some time in dayz 2017 but within an hour I encountered "thunderdome" (which I hate to say because its 2 men enter 1 man leaves, god damn idiots out there) AND a flying tank. so yea... I know so many people dislike chernarus but I don't understand how, its a large map and once we CAN enter all buildings PLUS all the new buildings it will make the map so much more colourful. I think most people dislike chernarus because they favor the smaller maps for fast-action PVP, which is fine, but not what this game should be all about. Of course the majority of people will get SA leaving the script kiddies behind which only means a larger concentration of those players on a server. -

I can't help but think player infrastructures in DayZ would be rather pointless. I mean it'll be about as useful as base building in Ace of Spades. Your base is going to stick out like a sore thumb. Not to mention the engine quirks where trees "disappear" the farther you get. They're going to be completely defenseless because no one is going to "hang out" there. And let's say there are - well, what happens when you disconnect? Booby traps? Oh, it will kill me. But I'm just going to respawn and run back because I know exactly where it's at. If it's barricaded people will just server hop and gain access that way. I mean I see the usefulness with tents and tarps or camo netting to hide some gear and vehicles. But underground tunnels and bases with buildings like hospitals? I don't know for me it kind of defeats the purpose of the game. Which this would be a different story if this were a sandbox MMORPG like Wurm Online. Though in the end this is just my opinion. -

Well maybe it's just me. But every time I work hard to get vehicles and spend hours getting good gear only to get sniped by a cheap player, it's a reason to quit playing. Some eventual reward or achievement or anything worth striving for would help ease the frustration. Dare I suggest even servers where player vs player killing is not possible? These are things that would broaden the appeal of DayZ to a wider audience. In a standalone release, DayZ "classic" rules could be like playing as the game is now. But servers could also choose to disallow player killing and allow an end game for the more casual audience. Widen the appeal in this way, and DayZ makes more money.

We run a whitelisted private hive based in the UK, we are looking to get a few more players on the server we are currently aiming for 25-30 players daily and are peeking at 20-25 at the minute at 9pm GMT or so. Our server is a vanilla server and the only modification we have done is to increase/double the zombie count depending on what area of the map you are in.
