What happens with my items when I switch between servers and which servers are always very populated?

The databases are all different on unofficial servers. Official dayz servers all share the same hive, so location and gear switches between servers. Unofficial servers have their own hives, so it doesn't switch And for the last question: Yes for vehicles, as for zombies im not sure -

Hello, My first post here so sorry if the formatting is a little out. Anyway enough with that for now and down to server info! We've recently moved hosts from Dayz.st to Survival Servers and hence we need to bring back some more regular players to our server. So far our server is doing well and we have quite a few regulars that join and play together and we currently have a small amount of bandits. The server is currently protected using anti hacks along with 3 active admins to watch over the server. We try to provide a friendly experiance and listen to all of our members suggestions or problems. The majority of the time we fix any issues within the server in a small amount of time and offer an easy way to talk to the admins if required. Currently our servers settings are set to: Loadout: M1911 (x3 rounds), Morphine, Pain Killers, Flashlight, Map, Matches, Bandage and Assault Pack Side Chat - On Kill Messages - On Care Packages - On Wrecks - On CrossHairs - On 3rd Person - On Name Plates - Off Day + Night (3 hours day, 3 hours night) Rmod- Not yet Despite our server been in Germany we have the majority of our players from the UK although we do have players from everywhere. Started playing here 3 days ago, here are my experiences so far... Day 1: As a fresh spring chicken i spawned near the coast on the slopes of a gigantic snowy mountain. Getting my bearings crossing the mountain, i devised the plan for that day: finding a boat and going to those yummy oil rigs they got on the map. Little did i know those places are bugged and dont spawn loot, read before you act Harafat! For this endeavour i would require a large pack, food and drinks. Weapons seemed like a luxury viewing that no zed's are supposed to spawn on those rigs. After planning out this mission i left the cold snowy plains and found myself close to the town of Sabina. Excellent, i thought, and i set of towards the supermarket and the mall to fetch the items required for my mission. The feel of Taviana is so awesome. The cities actually feel like real cities where a zombie acolypse JUST happened instead of chernarus, which looks like it has been going on for a few years. Anyways, i quickly found myself in the posession of an Alice pack, tons of foods and drinks, basic surivival equipment and bottles for advanced survival, should the mission prove succesfull. Next stop was to be Ekaterinaburg Harbour to find my boat. However, i wanted to swing by the airfield cause of the 2 barrack complexes and the airfield itself. In the first complex i found myself an AK-Kobra and a sidearm. Overjoyed i decided to skip ahead to the harbour untill i found myself 3 mint condition airplanes on the airfield. Jumped in the double-dekker, heart racing because i never flew a plane, engine on and off i was! Happy as hell i flew to my target to find no boats there! Not turned off by this slight dent in the road i flew to the island nort of there with the prison complex on it. Located two boats, was rdy to bail out of the plane. Then suddenly the server went out. Logging back on i found myself no longer in the plane but on the West side of lake Umag, near the castle. Then a call for help came over the radio. 2 BSB guys were flying a chopper when the incident happened, they were now no longer in the chopper but somewhere on a random location in the ocean. Knowing these guys would actually hunt me soon and show no mercy, i still decided to help them, because losing your gear due to server restarts sucks balls. I devised the plan to do flyovers grid per grid of the ocean with a C130, mark their location on the map, then pick em up by boat. Adrenaline roaring, i set off to the airfield again. Found the c130's still there and prepared for take off. Being an inexperienced pilot, i didnt check the terrain around the airfield, just taxied my plane onto the runway, cigar in the mouth, whiskey in the glass and off for a glorious rescue mission. I punched down the throttle, took off, and swirved immediately towards the east to reach the ocean. Little did I know that there was an enormous mountain range there. Immediately realising my mistake and inevitable doom i started evasive measures and pulled up, to no result. Plane stalled and i just got out be4 it drilled itself in the mountain. No worries, i tought, another plane remains. Not making the same mistake twice, i took of again, directed myself safely towards the ocean and started the search. After about 5 mins of flying the engine turned itself off tho. I was too late to eject and died a wet death trying to rescue 2 people. They made it back to land however, i was back to square one Day 2: After messing some more around with 1 plane earlier, i decided i had to stop my shennanigans and start to build my base and gear up, or i was going to be trampled by whoever i was gonna meet here. It became an intense day of looting in which i perfected my looting tactic for barrack complexes, repaired a hatchback and a UAV and found a coyote backpack and some basic zombie-culling weapons, nothing fancy tho, AK's, M16's, Shotguns. All these were alas depleted during my rather rash looting of sites, drawing attention of lots of zombies. Looted nearly all the top-loot locations twice, hit 2 helicpoter sites, and still found myself with only an AK74Kobra. I was about to give up untill i hit the last firestation for that day and i found an M24 and a GPS!!! Whole day of top location loot, nothing, 1 firestation, GPS, M24. Happy with this, i decided to make a camp and drove my vehicle i decided to keep out to a non disclosed location and logged of. Day 3: Deciding to keep the gear in my basis, i left everything behind besides my sidearm, bandages, 1 food, 1 drink and 1 morphine. After an early day of looting and getting a pack, equip, food/drinks, meds and yet another Kobra. I decided to go on another sight seeing tour of the islands by plane, maybe ejecting to loot anything that caught my eye. After a long while of boring flying around i decided i had enough and i ejected on an undisclosed location, looking for some more military loot. I missed my dropzone, but not by much. Not knowing exactly where i was, i looked around in my surroundings. My heart, nearly exploded when i saw a chopper near me. I quickly went in to investigate and found myself in an extensive camp. 3 working Heli's, 2 Urals, SUV, UAV and Hatchback. All loaded to the brim with weapons and gear, unfortunately no NV, Ghillie's or Rangefinders. I helped myself to a DMR, an M16AcoG and a ton of ammo. I then contemplated that i had to destroy all these vehicles, because a ton of weaps remained. Wepons and Heli's that would be used to kill me inthe not so distant future, especially with me stealing from them. However, i decided to be mercifull and leave this camp alone for this once. Would it remain there till next week, then i will destroy it. So guys, move your stuff, your location is compromised :) Now i find myself with 2 full sets of my fav loadout: zombieculler with low noise and non-overpowered sniper. From now on you can consider me to be a hostile XD. -
I play on balota buddies european server and they have the same issue ( they know about it ) placed a tent, filled it full of stolen loot then logged out. Logged in to find the tent gone and all it's content. Oh well I've powered through and stolen even more, keeping it in vehicles for now.......till they are stolen from me!!!

Mortars would be found on barracks and mortar rounds will be scattered around the are. Mortar rounds can be thrown. You have to manually reload the Mortar when it runs out of ammo. It can easily knock out planes and vehicles. The ammo is beyond rare and only responds at random times.

Looking for Taviana Private Hive [Must fullfill certain requirements]

I'm looking for a private hive server that fits what i like, below is a list with things that must be in it and some optional requirements too. Must have: - More than 10 players average - Lots of vehicles (atleast 300+) + Almost all of these vehicles must have atleast 1 broken part + Need a toolbox and the required parts to fix it - Helicopters - Be on the Taviana map Optional: - Around 30 players average - Have some fully-working vehicles (around 20 vehicles) Is there any server like this? If you know a server that looks like this, please leave the name and include the servers features. -
Pretty much an island where you can fund wreckage and the primary camp of the survivors. Also places like the barracks, oracle etc. the only vehicles are rowboats, a sailboat an ajira airlines plane and a bunch of hippie vans. I know this will never happen but wouldn't that be hilarious?

I've created this topic to discuss what new DOABLE add's you would like to see with the next Day Z update (And by doable I mean addons in the line of the ones added until today. Fixing zombies walking through wall doesn't fit to me as a doable as it is a graphic engine issue). This is some of what I would like to see - Infection can now kill you by dropping your blood to 2000 at normal speed, and keeps droping it to 0 at -0.5bu/s (blood unit/second) until death. It gives you an hour more or less to get a cure. However, you still gain blood by transfusion or by eating. (As a matter of fact, you can keep yourself alive with just a simple foodcan every 5 min, a can restores +200bu and you lose -150bu within that time. Eating any sort of animal meat will result even better). - Blood bags now take up to 5 min to refill your blood (depending on how much blood left you have). That would be around 12000bu/300s = +40bu/s. Being hit within that time will result in blood refilling to stop. Blood bags effect can't be stacked (only one at a time applies). - As long as your temperature is good, you ain't tired (as you are after a sprint) and your hungry/thirsty icons are completely full, you will automatically gain +3bu/s (it takes more than an hour to full restore your health, and only if you're in perfect conditions -besides blood-). Any type of injure such as bleeding or an infection will stop the gaining. - Can't drink/eat more than once every 5 min. - Eating/Drinking and using medical consumables on yourself (bandage/painkillers) is now possible inside vehicles (this is doable?) - [New added item] Amphetamine (hospital/helicrash loot) - Gives you +400bu plus momentarily restores your senses (blurr vision/hearing) for 5 min. - [New added item] Energy Drink (Residential) - Gives you +400bu and restores your thirst. - [Change on existing item] Water Bottle can now be used two times ("Full Water Bottle" -> "Half Empty Water Bottle" -> "Empty Water Bottle"). - This way it can be shared. Not possible with cans. - [Change on existing item] Cows give you now at least 20 meat steaks. (As you can only use 1 every 5 min, is not possible someone kills a cow and restores all his blood in the spot. And lets face it, it is a cow, you should be able to feed an entire group from one single cow). This changes allow multiple pretty good ways to restore one's health but not as easy as spamming meat like it is now. +600bu from a steak +400bu from anfetamines +400bu from energy drink +3bu/s*300s = +900bu == 2300bu in 5 min. == Almost half an hour to restore yourself completely. Seems pretty fair to me Hope R4Z0R49 likes some of my ideas :D -
Hi Bros, Every time I get a chopper I become "Chernarus chopper cab", I take whoever needs a ride to wherever they need to go. I do the same with land vehicles but I preffer choppers. When I play with my friends I use TS3, I was thinking it would be a good addition in SA to be able to find a radio, set a frequency and people can reach me and say "hey can you pick me up? I´m on 765070" and I can easly keep in touch with my clients. I apologize if this was already posted.

Sometimes vehciles show up on the map in blue or the Old Bike shows in Red, sometimes they dont and I would be within 100m. Is there a trick to have them show on map? or just a random occurance. Flying over cities that could spawn a vehicle, what are some of the things you look for? Red and White vehicles show up pretty good but the camo ones like the UAZ or the Humvee sorta look like everything else that was blown up during the outbreak. I cant tell the difference unless I'm like right next to it and it gives me the click options. Just wondering if there are suggestion while I'm vehcile hunting? Thanks in advance.

This. I've played mainly on EU servers, and they don't seem to be quite as badly infested, although it's still an occasional problem. Like Biggles though, I struggle to find a Whitelisted server I actually want to join - I just want to play vanilla DayZ, I don't want to be swarmed by vehicles, dogs, crash sites etc - I just want a normal game! -

I've been playing on the main hive and TBH will bail from a server most days due to hacker suspicions. US servers are far far far far far far worse than European. I was pestered by some invisible guy on Sunday, just disconnected. I have been finding it hard to find a good white-listed server, there's seemingly no standard servers, the phrase "100+ vehicles" is just a huge turn off for me. -

I don't understand where you're getting this "poor graphics" idea from. All that happens is desaturation of colour from the screen. It's really not a big deal. I find it a good way to represent the idea that blood-loss has left you a little fuzzy. The game will NEVER be balanced for solo play. Even that term "balanced" should leave a horrible taste in the mouth of a DayZ player. :lol: It's brutal. It's supposed to be that way! Some of the best times you can have are when you're hopelessly outmatched and struggling. I love it. Yeah it's frustrating. But it's all part of the package. Vehicles, if they're in use, will not respawn. Folks hide them away, or lose them. It makes it all the better when you've got a little car of your own. I'm not going to comment on night vs. day. I let peoples attitudes about it annoy me too much most of the time. -

Hi, I've gamed for well, since technology allowed it online. I kept hearing about this game and decided to give it a once-over. First impression was amazing, the fear factor alone kept me logging back in over and over again even though I was dieing constantly, which is expected. Night vs. day: I played both types of servers and frankly if you bump up brightness, it's no big deal. If I couldn't bump up brightness, I wouldn't play, sorry, just way too annoying, which goes full circle back to whether there should be night and day. I guess bumping your brightness could be considered as having your eyes adust, who knows. Enough about that. Player vs. "Zed": (ranged) ok I guess, I rarely shot a weapon at a zombie because that usually means more zombies, no more ammo and death. (melee) Poor to say the least. Just swing and pray. Even if you learn their movements there's a good chance you're going to be bleeding or even sometimes knocked out, not because the zombie is so talented but because the placement/lag during melee sucks. That being said, I find melee to be my preferred primary weapon since I was 99% exploring and searching for loot. Vehicles: this seems like it can be alot of fun and at the same time very frustrating when you lose them. I got my first and only vehicle (other than the inflatable boat) by stumbling across a dead guy who left his motor running. I just followed the sound and there it was. Very fun to play with and maintain. It seems like the vehicle spawns were either broken or they need to be adjusted because I tried about a dozen spawn points (according to the dayz map) and never saw anything. Graphics-to-health/blood: This is where I draw the line and probably why I'll move along if the game remains like this. The game looks good, not great, when all factors are in your favor. Meaning the time of day is perfect and you're at 100% health. If those are not the conditions, then the graphics are poor to unplayable. At times I was searching for something to kill me, it was so annoying. Which brings me to my last topic. Group vs. solo play: Will someone please make a game that caters to or at least keeps it balanced for solo play? I mean it's the zombie apocalypse for God's sake and I have to find another player to heal worth a crap? I killed a goat and a cow, cooked and ate every piece, was fully hydrated and still wasn't healthy enough to have a frickin decent graphics screen. Whereas if I just get my buddy to give me a blood transfusion, voila I'm at 100%. Problem is, there wasn't a buddy, which if I tried to get a friend to play, that starts a whole new adventure trying to get to each other. (just run up to a Zed and get it over with) The game is designed for solo play but punishes solo play. Look at the servers. Usually a 2/1 ratio of players to servers, sometimes 3/1, not to mention almost all servers are capped at a max player setting of 60, so you aren't talking about clan/guild type gaming unless you just want your clan/guild to be the whole server. Starting Equipment: I actually preferred the times when I started with a bandage, flashlight and painkillers (I think that was the set). It meant that from the time you spawn, every structure could have something you needed. Much more immersive. Suggestions: 1. Adjust how graphics are set per blood level. If you can't see worth a crap or the graphics are pretty much gray scale, only hard core players are going to hang around. 2. Every town has a doctor. Turn one of the useless eye candy buildings into a town doctor's office and throw the solo player a bone. Then either allow a play to administer their own transfusion OR (probably much simpler) increase or find a way to heal better with the food system you already have. For example, if fully fed and hydrated, you regain health quickly when seated. Well there you have it. I'm actually still playing, it's addicting as hell, but had to put these notes down before I come here after a "rage quit". -
I'm a new Dayz player who's looking for a server. I've only just tried the game out and I like what I see, but I can't seem to understand where to find info about server restarts and why some servers have 2-3 hour nights, while others follow authentic time via selected timezones? I would prefer a server with full lengt days and since I'm from sweden (GMT +1) and will be playing evenings and nights mostly, I would prefer a server with daylight during that time :) I don't want to sound too picky after 2-3 hours of gameplay, but I don't think I would enjoy too many vehicles and equipment in abundance. Seems to me that a part of the charm is to start out small and try to build from there. I've always enjoyed a little bit of RP, so if there is anything like that out there, let me know :) If anyone has some tips in general or a good idea of a suitable server, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.

Awesome, Day-Z+ is a modification of Chernarus, adding basebuilding, loot table editing as well as vehicles. They increased Zed's damage and added all kinds of new goodies. I downloaded the mod with the DayZCommander. edit: or here is thier website

I have acquired some pictures of these heli crash sites, all within (roughly) 1000m of each other. It still amazes me at how lame it is finding these crash sites now, since they spawn nothing. Here's a pic of the first one near the airfield. Without moving the helicopter, here's are some pics of some more in the same area. Notice here that there are actually three crashed helicopters, as the ground is lit up behind the first one. The smoke stacks just aren't registering from this distance. This one is rather ridiculous, albeit away from the airbase. Same position as the last one, just changed the angle. And the grand finale, out in the middle of a field... This obviously blows, because I don't know which heli crash actually has loot near it, so I'm forced to get on a different server to raid heli crashes, but that means I don't have my vehicles! Just to keep you updated. @elfishov The main reason why your seeing this more now is due to the amount of zeds chasing now. The behavior of the AI has never changed they have always hit players when your within 3 meters of the zed no matter what they are doing or even looking at. They have always stood back away from vehicles, They have always glitched through walls. They have always attacked through walls. They have always run through objects. The amount of zeds now chasing is the biggest reason you see this more now.

There will be no benefit to being fat within this game as you would be easily overrun by the infected, and will require lots more food, blood pack in order to regain health. Also, greater area for another player to hit with greater trauma and you won't be able to fit in vehicles as well (or as Homer would say, require two seats for the twins)

It is just a Regular Private Hive DayZ server up the the newest version (No Mods Just a Private Hive) 4. PVP is aloud on this server ( So if you are a person that doesn't kill other players be sure to watch your back and don't trust people that can't be trusted) 3. And it is waiting for Survivors. Actually I think the non-ATV vehicles have gotten better. I can run over fences and hit small obstacles without getting stuck or exploding.
