The Survival Operations Hard Corps server. >Has ACE installed (Adds more guns/equipment than I can think of) >Has ACRE installed >Lower loot spawn rate >Low amount of vehicles >No 3rd person, nameplates, etc. >No loadout >No .50 Cals >No NVGs >Added FOBs across the map for diversity >There's actual competition between players >Amazing community -

We currently run a hardcore Namalsk server on Expert settings, none of your n00b crutches enabled, we also have bloodsuckers and evr enabled. There's only 16-18 vehicles on the map and you start with bandage,torch and painkillers nothing else. Were currently getting high numbers so it's brutal pvp for those that can handle it, but tons of fun :thumbsup: -
hello, i have been playing this game for abit now, and i never get to see too many people or even make teams. I would like to find other people (ENGLISH speaking) via skype to play together ? we could roam the cities of cherno in search of the best weaponry and vehicles and be the best.

i'm all up for a serious HC server no backpack one bandage and a flashlight, low military loot low backpack spawn. It makes you feel awesome when you find a patrol pack and an AK with a mag. Also rax at NEAF few more towns NPCS and higher spawn rate of bikes. Can't deal with 1st person only because i have to be in third person while running around it gives me a headache, 1st person in vehicles would be fun, also no name tags etc. And kill messages! -

I shall post the server details in the private hive discussion when the server is ready. Charactristics as of now are something like this: Active/Fair Admins,Starting Loadout: Makarov+1 Mag, Painkillers, Bandage, Torch, 75 Vehicles at the moment (will be 50 or so), Veteran Difficulty, 3rd Person ON (contemplaing on turning it off), Crosshair OFF, Name Plates OFF,Time Zone GMT+3 (will be GMT-x) normal cycle, Location: Greece, Custom Buildings mostly to balance the map (1 NE Airfield Barrack/ Medical Tent and 2 Small Military Tents at Kamenka), Weekly Clan Events, 6 hour restarts, reduced AS50-M107 spawn rate, TS dedicated and no kill messages. Will keep you up to date. :P -

Not at all. I'm just saying, wait until they add vehicles if they're that important. Realism for movement can depend on the characters background/story and they've said quite a few times that the survivors are not necessarily military trained. The run jump did look a tad silly but I'm waiting to see it in person. -

No 3rd Person, Night-time (full moon acceptable), near "Vanilla" amount of vehicles but more variation is fine, no luxury weapons/items (AS50, NVGs, etc). Anything remotely close to this would be amazing, and I have looked around for ages on behalf of myself and a few friends. But so far it seems to be much more popular to add battleships and thermal scopes than something like this. -

I like the idea of minimal starting gear, lower spawns for food and weapons, very very rare high end weaponry and limited vehicles (as in vanilla). -

Namalsk about 18 vehicles 3 choppers... gear bandage since gettin geared up in namalsk isnt a problem... and a server restart every 3 hours!!! -

Because it is, you can change the whole gaming experience without changing the looks, to me it seems that to you there is nothing done if its not total facelift... Same you could do with the car, you can do the paintjob and interior later but make the car handle totally different with chassis and engine modification... That doesnt mean there is less features, infact could be quite opposite... Also releasing without vehicles, almost only example that you throw around with this. Even if you remove the vehicles there is alot more content than the mod has, as they implement clothing, desieses, crafting, interiors etc etc... Game doesnt revolve around clitchy vehicles.. And again, you show lack of research, rocket have never talked about kickstarted model.. which have bought up to you many times. There is nothing wrong with making new animations as they have explained, you think people without military training (a avarage joe survivor) would go around rolling thru cities and building with military/police moves? Vaulting super slow over knee high fences, thats just exceptional arma2 anim... Animations brings some freshness to the game when released and more fluid gameplay.. Still you are fighting agains the "minecraft model", there is nothing away from you or anyone else with it. If one wants to participate to the alpha testing they can do so, with minimal fee. If you dont, you can wait for the finished game and buy it then, like you can any other.. If you dont know how money hungry company works check out the "warz model" ps. Also why would you "finish" the mod, when the arma2 is restricting so much. Now with almost new engine they have "unlimited" possibilities to add features that mod never could handle... why waste the time? -

This is MY version of the story, not to drudge up old news... but I spent a while writing this and it tells every aspect of the encounter with Hippo and I. Thanks guys if you decide to read it. This is just a heads up to anyone wanting to play the DayZ Epoch mod, DO NOT play in the " The Syndicate" DayZ Epoch Server The Syndicate server IP: 74.91.18.202:2382 For all you griefers This little story about "Lark" and "Hungryhippo" begins with a friend of ours (Wardaddy) telling me (Lark) that hes been playing on a new Epoch server called Syndicate. One day our DayZ group gets together and we all log onto this "new" server... That was mistake number 1. After about and hour of being a bambi, scavenging for the necessities, acquiring a DMR with 5 mags and getting a fancy pilots outfit the [sYN] clan starts spouting off in side chat. "If anyone goes near our base at Pobeda Dam you will be shot on site, also if you kill or mess with any of our friends we will hunt you down like dogs and kill you! We allow PVP on this server but don't PVP against us because we will hunt you!". There are 2 personality types... Fight and Flight, Personally I am a FIGHT personality... So their threats were more like challenges to me rather than threats. Meanwhile they, they being [sYN] are basically giving their play by play in side chat saying "OK, i'll be in Cherno in 2 minutes, hey come get me in Kamenka, meet me at the Elektro grocery store, blah blah blah. I followed their trail which lead me to a convoy of about 6 of [sYN]'s "friends" which consisted of an armored SUV and a cherry red SUV. They were stopped at the Elektro fire station looting it for its goodies, when /u/hungryhippo13 and I show up about 200 meters out with a DMR and 5 mags ready to go. /u/hungryhippo13 begins to make his way to the fire house with an AKS-74u when he is gunned down by our targets, I proceed to pick them off 1 by 1 with the DMR until none were left. After looting their bodies and stealing their armored SUV we are told in side chat that we supposedly "Messed with [sYN] clan friends and now we are to be hunted like dogs". Hungryhippo and I start cruising down the coast in our new ride and off to the left, on top of Klen mountain we hear a little bird starting up so naturally we head up the mountain in our new armed SUV to investigate when we found a little bird and pilot AFK on top of Klen with the helicopter running and a (admin hacked) Apache helicopter sitting there stationary. We then proceeded to shoot the pilot out and crash the little bird, which was mistake number 2, because we had just killed a [sYN] clan member and stolen their hacked Apache. The entire clan erupted with "YOU WILL BE HUNTED, WE WILL KILL YOU, YOU MADE A MISTAKE KILLING US" in side chat, which made me giddy as a school girl. Hippo and I proceeded to meet up with our friends at the NE airfield when I hear another of their hacked choppers flying in to intercept us. So I did what any reasonable person would do... I flew my Apache into their other hacked chopper and destroyed them both then promptly ejecting to save myself from the explosion. Hungryhippo picked me up in the armored SUV and we started to haul ass to the western part of the map avoiding their "other" hacked in armed choppers. After 20 or 30 minutes of driving west and never stopping we decided to make a pit stop in Petrovka to eat/drink and salvage car parts from the local abandoned vehicles when, sure enough... 3 [sYN] clan members show up in ANOTHER chopper. Directly over where we were parked in the woods (using admin map probably), Hippo and I decided to open fire on the wannabe heroes with the armed SUV, So I took off driving while Hippo unloaded on their chopper forcing them to land. Being the "fight" personality I was talking about before, we decided to turn around and further engage them. As we roll up to their landed chopper, Hippo gets shot out of the gunner seat and promptly after that, the ARMORED SUV gets 1 shot by a "mystery" gun... it burst into flames so I eject and run into the nearest clump of trees to the vehicle while dodging bullets the whole way. I lose them in the trees and begin trying to find a DMR vantage point to take out these hacking punk admins. I found a good spot and shot two of them and killed the 3rd [sYN] clan member just as he put a bullet in my head, killing us both. Wardaddy, another friend I had playing on the server at the time came and picked both Hippo and I up at the coast and we all proceeded back to the battle zone. While flying back to the battle spot we noticed ALL the [sYN] clan members sitting in the lobby, not actually IN the game. About 30 seconds away from the battle field all the [sYN] clan members log back into the game and fire upon Wardaddys little bird that he picked us up in, How did they get up to Petrovka so quickly after sitting in the lobby for 10 minutes? Probably being teleported by the admin. We land and head to the bodies to find that all the gear on the [sYN] clan members bodies was still there on their dead bodies, meaning that the admin spawned them with a full load out... they didn't loot their dead bodies to recover their gear. We looted the [sYN] dead bodies to find Thermal Vision AS50, PDW SD, Coyote backpacks, Rockets Red Beret uniforms and each one of them having a full load out of tools (GPS, Entrenching Tools ect.) We called them out on hacking items into the game and teleporting, which they denied at first but eventually admitted that they did it "Just to kill us". Personally, I was honored that they needed to pull out all those hacked tricks to kill my comrades and I after besting their entire clan for the entire night. This is not a "bitch-fest" post, I just want to get the word out... Do Not play on their Epoch server if you wish to have a legitimate Epoch experience. Sorry for the long read. -

Changes: - Now a full day/night server.. - A.I. are more challenging. - A.I. no longer take vehicles to move around. - A.I. will call for reinforcements if a group is in range. - Will ambush players. - Players can now obtain certain items if they bring admins a list of stuff in the game. Ask an admin for details. -

Your point doesn't make a lot of sense. They made a lot of money off of DayZ and are looking to make more by selling another product. The point that I raised is that Bohemia Interactive does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. The example I provided was that the ArmA 2 campaign is inoperable to this date. They never finished the mod, either. They're extremely vague about what may or may not be missing, so it's hard to know if vehicles will be the only missing core feature. You can't say it's a good sign. What if they never add in vehicles, or any other features they decide to put off? My impression is that some of the people here would be content simply being able to log in and look around. I know how read Rocket's blog, too. If you're going to make snide comments then I have to ask; are you really incapable of thinking outside the box? The "release model", as you know it, is exactly as the person selling it to you has described it. -

I have to say if they used just the A3 movement, I for one would be a happy man. The A2 anims are/were a major turn off to many players. At the launch of alpha I don't believe vehicles will be in, much like fixed wing aircraft are not in A3. I have no doubt they will be and it will be an improvement on a2. Will it be a massive shift/improvement? I think probably not, but I'm still glad I have the full alpha at this price, I think the SA will be the same. L -

Well... there's the way it is, then there's the way you wish and they are not the same. I don't really care what you do with your trust issues, Rocket and BI make decisions you wont always agree with and if they are deal breakers for you, then it's your prerogative to either wait buying the Standalone until vehicles are implemented or take your hard earned business elsewhere. There's no controversy here. There's BI's rough and open platform and then there's Rocket's use of this platform. Both have their flaws, shortcomings and bugs, but there's nothing quite like them out there, because most other companies have decided to aim for the casual mainstream, where all the predictable sales are. Vehicles are not essential for the survival experience, they are a nice luxury, but it's simply been deemed that they can wait. Animations are being redone with good reason, but they are not being copied from ArmA 3, they are going to have a more civilian feel to them. I liked ArmA 2's animations too, but they are like BI's games in general, you really have to embrace their vision to both see the beauty of the games and to accept the uglier sides too. The old animation philosophy scared some people off, when they lost control of their characters, while it was busy on it's own, playing out some long animation they didn't want it to do and which they couldn't abort. What it comes down to both with BI games and DayZ mod is you're dealing with a product in progress. A major difference is, unlike unnamed others, BI and Rocket is upfront and candid about it. DayZ the mod matured over several months and we also saw some setbacks or upsets, when Rocket released a major update. This is the nature of the product, you're buying into an experiment and evolving world and if you view it with an obsolete and traditional mindset, you'll mistakenly think, you're entitled to more than you're sold. -

Custom Vehicles and Weapons. Custom Chopper crash loot. 450+ Vehicles. Small Playerbase. Friendly small server. Nice admins. And only the owner has access to the admin map and server controls. So no pesky admins spawning in gear and vehicles and then following you or tracking you down. Again, if the lack of vehicles is your only complaint, awesome. Everything else seems to surpass the mod quite a bit so I'm happy. You can always wait until you're happy with what you see. That's what I do. -

What's important to consider is that Bohemia has not earned the benefit of the doubt. As an example, their ArmA 2 campaign is completely inoperable to this date. They simply never finished it, and you can only (hardly) debug your way past the first missions. Delaying the release of vehicles in DayZ is particularly troubling because synchronizing them across many clients is not as easy and intuitive as units (players, zombies) are. Yet that is coincidentally a feature they're excluding until later. They're asking many (millions) of people to buy the game at a discount with the promise that they'll eventually patch and fix missing things after you've bought it. I do not think that we, as consumers, should consider it acceptable for them to sell the game until they've gotten it up to par with the mod. There's simply no reason to believe that Bohemia will deliver the goods after they've turned a profit. In the face of all of this, there's still the matter of Rocket mentioning a desire to adopt a Kickstarter model. That's pouring salt on the wound. -

You have to click Hide Unofficial if you only want to play on official servers and keep your equipment between servers. Private hives can be fun because they can modify the servers with new buildings, vehicles, starting loadouts, etc.
