Vehicle don't respawn on Official Hive

My vehicles are not respawning. The hiveext.log does indicate that the vehicles are present but: They are not renderingor This is their last location before being destroyed Either way after several days none of the helis have appeared. The server in reference is US 434. P.S. I've tried the suggested method and the vehicles still do not spawn. -

We have noticed the same thing. If server connects to hive, sometimes the items do not load into the server. Requires another restart ... gamble for hive error . Vehicles for some reason do not respawn ... -

Thing is, I'm fine with custom buildings and stuff, but im not fine with ***SELFBLOODBAG-SPAWN WITH DMR-500 VEHICLES*** etc. So a few more buildings in the north is great in my opinion.

Enough HE rounds on a building will eventually destroy it, but I'm not sure how many it would take. Against vehicles, the HE rounds are super effective. However, destroying a vehicle also means you can't steal it for yourself. I tend to lob 203's through windows and doorways when I know there is a player inside camping out. The range of the explosion is pretty significant and it has definitely kept me from putting myself in harms way on a number of occasions.

I've limited my server restarts to a few times a day just to avoid baby sitting so many of them. However I myself have noticed vehicles not respawning. re: Frankie's comments on KoS I agree with him, the first month or so of discovering Dayz was awesome - this of course was when players would have a tendency to be friendly and team up to survive, at least more so than now. The reason is pretty easy to understand, once a player learns the game very well the entire process of surviving becomes streamlined/optimized so dying isn't a big deal, so you play the game more like a PvP deathmatch than a survival sim. I can't see anyway around this in the SA. If you make surviving too daunting a task then new players will be put off and quit playing and even seasoned players will get frustrated with the process. There is so much to do in the game: fix vehicles, find gear, explore, make friends, make enemies, survive (food, water, etc...) etc... If you make the game so that any one part becomes to daunting then you take away from all the other aspects. For instance if you want to hop on and try to get a car working, well that by itself can be a 2 or 3 hour ordeal, couple that with getting infected constantly or blinking for food every 5 minutes you are not going to end up with a fun experience. The main threat should always been other humans, zombies and survival secondary - however that is just my opinion. So how do you make the SA not ultimately turn into a KoS game and also not water down the fun parts with too big of an emphasis on just surviving? The solution is to punish players for being bandits or reward players for being heroes/survivors It's hard to do that organically, the only way to do it that I can think of is to use some immersion breaking mechanic. Such as having safe zones in the game where heroes/survivors can freely share resources, players could also game plan how to go get a bandit, share information on what they've encountered etc... (or something like that) and these areas would have to be off limits to bandits. Need a bloodbag? Try to make it to pusta, a town for survivors only, see if anyone ise there to help you. need a bloodbag and you are a bandit you are SOL, good luck. I dunno, but it does seem important to somehow draw a better line between bandits and survivors so the game just doesn't become a deathmatch session.

I really like armoury mode, Have tables with every item in the game on them x2. Vehicles. Endless ammo crates. Have a zombie spawn on button. When base building is implemented you could build and test possible bases before you try doing it in game.

yer its nice to see new players and new teams. The teams work great because you have genuine competition on the server between the big groups and they are to busy fighting over territory between themselves to agro the loan wolfs and newbies on the coast. It allows large groups to build bases and have large group battles but leaves room for the little teams and loan wolves to get on and do there thing. There was a big battle between the Special patrol group and the associates from detroit last night on the server was fun hanging round the edges watching it go down. The associates got there base raided and lost all the top vehicles so us in the firm will be loaning them some gold and raking in the interest............. cant beat a bit of loan sharking can you lol

Infantry and vehicles. If you hit a vehicle, you will bust it's wheels, and it inflicts ridiculously good damage on players. Can be a lifesaver sometimes.

A few suggestions for the mod - for once.

Played the mod for the first time in a while, and I have some thoughts. I'll try and keep this tidy. - add surgical masks and/or paint masks to help fight infection. They don't necessarily have to show up on your player model. Just include it as a "tool" you would wear on your tool belt, similarly to how the Namalsk map handles the PSI helmets. Basically, if you find this object and keep it on your tool-belt, it lowers your chance of being infected by a certain percentage when you are attacked by zombies. This basically simulates how this item would prevent blood and fluids from entering a person's mouth and nose - as they say, a stitch in time saves nine. It would also be interesting to see how those types of preventative items become valuable, like antibiotics. They should be fairly rare, but commonly found in hospital loot, maybe occasionally in grocery stores, and other variants like a painters mask might be found in residential loot spawns. - Pills and antibiotics should function just like glowsticks, flares, and magazines in the inventory system. Antibiotics should contain a few pills and should require the user to complete a full course of the medication to fully cure infections. If the player fails to take them properly, the infection should manifest again after a slight dormancy period. Pain killers should work one at a time so they can be rationed. - allow players to eat, bandage, and use self medication inside vehicles. That's all I can think of right now. -
That's pretty rare on a typical Vanilla Dayz server, like many have already mentioned. But there are servers out there (Private Hives) that have 500-1000 plus vehicles.

No tents or whatever place where you can keep your stuff except some vehicles but you shouldn't be able to pack it that muchs and very restrict inventory space would be the best choice. Have fun carrying that wheel when you can't carry almost anything else and when you die you really need to re-arm and not go to your tent.

Would love to see a Single Player SA. However I would like to see a little bit more story in SP than in MP. Also something like a boot camp series of missions like in Arma 2. Set just before the outbreak you play the role of different civilians doing 'normal' things. IE A hiker hiking in the woods learning how to set up a camp, collect firewood, and cook. Playing as a hunter's child who's father teaches you how to track, kill, and gut animals. So on and so fourth (learning how to repair and drive vehicles as a mechanic, medical training while a nurse, flight training from either military/coastguard or private airline, gun training while a soldier, ect) but all training ends with the player getting overrun and killed by zombies somehow. Of course there will be a few training 'missions' that take place after Z Day for when other things are added in (how to build bases, 'mad max' cars, ect)

I have to agree with Frankie...I know I am repeating myself but I am no fan of the open alpha idea I would prefer to see Chernarus+ finished first as well as all basic game mechanics ( which does not include basebuilding and vehicles) before going into an open beta. For the alpha I would be cool with a larger scaled closed alpha testing including straming and regular updates and screenshots. just my two cents -
so, dayz is infact mainly pve, not pvp as i thought.

DayZ is definitely what you make of it. I have personally played mostly PVE solo survival horror style. I avoided all contact with other players, at all costs. Last summer I had a 28 day character (no pun), with 1,000+ dead zombies killed. I had camps and built vehicles on multiple servers, all maintained by myself. Only when I began to get cabin fever, and tried to help a random player did I get killed. This game has a learning curve, but once you get comfortable gearing up, it requires some imagination to sustain replay value. -

Hello, All! Like most DayZ zealots, I use DayZ Commander to get into the game and sort the many servers I play in. One day I stumbled onto PAZSAS, and really, I haven't looked back... To me, PAZSAS serves as the pinnacle of servers, balancing everything you want from the game; Veteran difficulty (because no one should magically see bright green writing telling you who that is lying prone on a rooftop 700m away), plentiful buildings and barracks (loot!), a fair number of vehicles (Ram the Zs! Heli Evac!), a good spread of mods (Self-Bloodbag, anyone?), good connection with little-to-no lag (yellow chain? red chain? Never heard of it) a good core of reliable, fair and knowledgeable admins (no Freaks of Nature running around in God Mode and TPing to people they don't like for epic executions or unjust retaliation because you disagree on who is the best rugby team), and- most importantly- a great collection of players. Granted not everyone will welcome you with open arms, it IS a PvP server after all, but is is reassuring to know that not everyone you meet is immediately lining up their cross-hairs with the base of your skull. PAZSAS is newbie and Bambi-friendly. I can't promise no one will mock you, but I can assure you that you will receive assistance and a genuine opportunity to thrive on your own. The way we see it, the better other people play, the more we will enjoy the game. Today, it's the only server on my DayZ Commander list. When you find the best, why bother with the rest? I think Frankie needs to take his rose-tinted specs off. People actually robbing others "properly" by holding them up, making them drop their gear and so on has always been a very rare thing in DayZ even way back at the start. I know because I used to try it and 99% of the time people would just log out to save their precious gear. To do it successfully you had to be extremely lucky and find someone willing to play along. There were a few cool hostage and robbery vids around in the early days but many of those were staged. In the SA measures will be put in place to stop combat logging etc and lots of the other small changes already made to the game will go some way towards reducing the KOS mentality or at least make it easier for bandits to rob people without killing them. Lets not be silly though. Many people KOS because it's a legitimate way of surviving. That will never change. There is a large number of players though that currently KOS due to boredome etc and that's as a result of playing the mod for 100's of hours. The mod has VERY limited content, VERY simple survival mechanics and it's VERY easy to gear up. It's those 3 things that make people shoot first and ask questions later. That will all be changing in the SA, even before vehicles and base building are introduced. Anyway, doesn't Frankie script and stage all of his vids? If so he can carry on doing that regardless and manufacture whatever situations he wants. Maybe he's worried that he'll now have to be thrown in with all of the other players and won't have his usual controlled environment. His fans may have to get used to seeing him getting shot in the face a lot more often I guess.- 1178 replies
