Hey semi new player looking for group or clan to play with. Usually play on emerge, the pink or 10k vehicles server, live in midwest so usually get good frames and low ping on these servers. Play mostly 6-11 pm cdt and some weekends mainly on Saturday nights and usually anytime on Sundays. Anybody interested in new member hit me up, been playing fps shooters long time and can hold my own. Have mic and Ts/Skype. Mature Adult looking for like minded ppl. Son also plays with me sometimes so maybe get 2 for 1 member. Plz reply if interested, I love dayz but get tired of playing solo all the time. Mainly looking for Overwatch/PVP clans/group. Thx

Hi guys its Jfiles here. Im telling you about a server i found rummaging through my old favorites. I remember great old times from this server. WIth great admins and decent players its makes the game fun, but also can include battles with the admins or fellow clans that roam about Chernarus. Features: Tow/Heli-lift Lots o'l vehicles (not sure how many) Obviously base building Ai missions (not sure if that is with every epoch server) Roaming Ai's (being fixed currently) Self bloodbag, with the chance of infection Helpful clans willing to help those whom are injured. Here is an ip for you if you care to join. It is at a low pop now but if you guys join there will be more players to battle. Thanks again guys. 192.99.2.174:2302

It's not an old thread, many comments in the last few days in here. Admins can still do all that. If anything admin tools have become more advanced. If the engine did allow for tree cover them hoarding would be so much easier...which would be bad. A while ago switching to Taviana a friend of mine over the course of playing a month or so managed to unwittingly collect all the spawned vehicles and park them all just above Jaroslavski airfield. Then he complained he had to run 8k after dying as there were no vehicles. This meant any player joining the server for the first time gave up shortly after Sabina or Dubovo as it seemed pointless to continue with no vehicle. My admin power and ability to see vehicles led to me crusading around finding vehicles and leaving them places a survivor could find them. Not that fun. A vehicle in DayZ is an asset. It is not something to be hoarded by one group. OP lost a heli, he can find another. -
Anyone else have this issue, where you play on a moderately low populated server and spend hours and hours getting a chopper going for your group of people you may play with. Have one or two glorious nights with it only for it to be mysteriously "found" and stolen? I find it hard to believe twice now within a couple days of getting my chopper going, that it was just "stumbled upon" by some lucky bastard. No one just happens to be running through a forest in the middle of butt fawk no where that goes even further into butt fawk no where. Can server admins see where the vehicles are on the map? What is the likelyhood it was found via maphack or something of the sorts? Really discouraging.

Adding more weapons and vehicles this week. Most Armed vehicles are on "sale" also. Adding trash items to be sold to traders for gold. -
You would have to get rid of boredom first...we don't know how rocket wants to do that until we see for ourselves. Rarity won't change the player mentality at all. And the ability to build camps or houses or vehicles wont do either. Since i started playing again i really didn't see any difference other than it beeing more difficult to find stuff ( at least where i play ) and when you got enough you just go play TDM with others. I had such a case just yesterday, 14 players, 8 of them doing tdm out of boredom with DMRs and Armalites, 1 freshspawn killing my buddy in the staircase because my buddy isn't the "shoot freshspawns guy"...so he was taken out..i shot the guy when he wanted to loot him and we got his stuff back. It's basically still the same...it just takes longer and actually nobody seems to want to "live" in the game, the only tiem plyers work together is when they know eachother and when they tdm against another team instead of trying to communicate ( verbally ). I was asked by another player if i wanted to build a camp with him but since the other server closed due to lack of players that problem was solved anyway. At least you don't get übermilitary loot unless the admin tweaks the loot tables.

if there server doesn't backup there database properly it very possible for vehicles and characters to be reset, how ever it doesn't have to happen, it can be prevented.

reading the last two pages: robbery instead of killing: i've tried and it doesn't work. people tend to shoot back or move and like 1% put weapon down.. you risk to be wounded for nothing. so it's better firing..obviously you can try, but as i said before, i think people kos because they are scared of contact so you feel a lot more comfortable shooting first, and i understand this completely. it's just the amount of players than changes the feeling of the game from friendly candy candy to kos hell. armed friendly behavior: the best thing you can do is yelling ''friendly'' with a weapon at their head. and this when you, for example, meet a guy at berezino while you search for hospital loot. you came down from your mountain, and as always you don't want to kill anyone. this doesn't mean you must go in screaming , and die ,nor go in spraying bullets..just talk and see what he says..when they don't respond i usually shoot or go away..if the guy is a mindless killer when i talk he's usually already repositioning/getting out for the chase..3rd person helps a lot here.. definition of KOS: i tend to consider that the behaviour of a guy who's geared and walks around just to kill people, or who finds a weapon and goes to the nearest town to cause some trouble while gearing up, a guy who comes from the north to kill people on the coast. this behaviour is more clear on the coast precisely, since if you get shot while coming out from the barracks or stary camp you shouldn't be surprised or whine for anything. examples of kosing from my experience: a guy in alice and ak running in elektro killing people, and another with an enfield, same gamestyle. a guy in mogilevka shooting in a barn and when we stalled, unable to speak a single word while aiming for about 15' a guy i entered a building to save him, who shot me while i was giving him cover from the infected(i died shot by me and then i died from zombies) snipers at the firing range watching cherno elektro: i've never seen the squad they are providing cover for(behaviour i'd accept as genuine gameplay) examples of banditry: robbering bambies/troll talk before shoot camp the house,vehicle, crash site before shoot stalk prey and establish weapons and gear, establish number of enemies go away from town once able to survive in the north( any rifle, matches, knife and all that shit) camping worthy sites, if someone goes to the barracks it's possible he's searching for ammo for his rare weapons and those showers could be part of his usual looting path pvp examples: squad fights in any location fight for vehicles fight to defend a position going in town with an objective other than killing people survivor gameplay: find a vehicle and fix it survive in the bushes hunting and hiding occasional raids at various locations occasional kills, even on sight kos bandits camp raiding hero gameplay: die multiple times healing people around yelling friendly status kos bandits heal team mates even in pvp situations this post is too long i might have screwed it..hope i've been clear..it's just a couple of thoughts. anyway, any role is needed to this game, we should just try to find a blance and stop being attached to our gear. i dont' play to pick flowers in the fields..and i don't lay down when they shoot me, i shoot back and fight, sometimes you win sometimes you loose, if i loose i just go back looting. it's only a shame when i see someone who is really stupid and dumb as fuck, but i've seen a lot worse.. and again, kos(kill on sight) mentality is caused from not being able to deal with the fear of the other, most common issue between humans irl form second one of mankind

Hi, Really liking the new options. I have, however, a few questions. 1. My anti-hack has, for some reason, stoped working (AH script). Any idea why? 2. I can't add the PKP to loadouts anymore, either for online or offline players. It says it adds it, but in the game it's just a no-show. 3. Can I add custom vehicles that will spawn directly? I tried adding a T90 just to test it. It works when it is a spawn vehivle for after the next restart, but not as a vehicle I can add in realtime. Thanks in advance -

When i was hosting a public hive server, I could see where the vehicles are spawning. Not directly though like on a private high. This was a half year ago, can't really say if you still can do that now. -

To be honest I've never found it any easier to find vehicles on a 500 vehicle server than a vanilla server. Excluding helicopters as the increased helicopter count can make a big difference. -
Since Rocket is redesigning vehicles, I feel it necessary to suggest some things that will increase immersion, realism, etc.. First off, real articulation suspension. All vehicles in ARMA use this very basic and unrealistic independent suspension style, even the trucks that have a solid axle. Most people won't care about this but this can hold slight advantages/disadvantages while traveling across roads, offroad, etc.. There also needs to be a realistic torque-curve. This will make the vehicles seem a bit more real while traversing across hills/mountains. If you notice in ARMA, you can use a yellow hatchback and crawl up a 75 degree slope. :| They need to remove that slow speed will going offroad. I honestly don't see the point in that, unless you're in thick mud or clay. Yes, bumps in the terrain will be absolute hell on the shocks, but you should be able to go fast while off the road. Finally, there needs to be a higher speed limit on the cars. I get almost ALL military trucks are governed to about 100 kph (60 mph roughly), but vehicles such as the SUV should be able to go to 140 mph. This is a rough draft of my ideas, so feel free to suggest more things, or correct mine. Cheers!

Editing loadouts and placing vehicles are built-in to our interface (except on Epoch where you can't edit starting loadouts through our tools yet, you should be able to soon). Adding buildings is not simple because the map is not accurate enough to be able to position them properly - you have to use the arma map editor, there are several guides at http://dayz.st/w/Custom_Buildings We are a month-to-month service, we do not offer contracts or prepay any farther than 1 month in advance. Generally if you are unsatisfied with the service you can get a full refund within 7 days and a pro-rated refund (refund minus $1 per day of use) at any time after 7 dayz. You want a private hive, the other options do not give you much control over the server.

Our Chicago provider had smoke alarms go off in the datacenter so all Chicago servers are offline for the next 1-2 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are by far the easiest DayZ hosting company to use - not even disputable, and if you want to run an unmodified, mostly stock server it is extremely easy. You just order it, change a couple options, and everything just works. You can place vehicles, move players, manage inventories, etc. through the easy to use control panel. There is a beginner's guide on our wiki that explains every feature of the control panel in depth and some basic server administration stuff. If you want to add a lot of modifications (scripts like self blood bags, lifting, AI, custom loading screens, whatever) then that is on you to figure out, we don't offer much support when it comes to custom mods like that. We have a pretty active community on IRC and the hive.dayz.st forums that are very helpful, and a few people that lurk in the chat room that you can pay (usually around $30) to customize and install complex mods. Our official support won't assist you if you intend to make custom modifications like that. There are also a few articles on our wiki that cover making modifications. Did you check the 'draggable' option at the bottom of the map?

As long as the standalone has a decent system in place to take care of any script kiddies and hackers it will be fine. I'd rather they only kept one 'main' hive purely because all the extra vehicles, loadouts etc. etc. are beyond pathetic and completely defeat the whole 'survival' aspect of the game. I'd be more than happy if all the silly players leave because they aren't getting everything handed to them on a silver platter - good riddance. -

Because a picture paints a thousand words, can you spot the vehicle camp in the following image? Let's have a closer look at the tractor, Land Rover, Humvee and bus: And let's take an even closer look at the Humvee: The other vehicles appear to have caught fire. Faulty workmanship in action. In my opinion the problem stretches all the way back to Operation: Flashpoint, and the decision to make the engine an all-purpose military platform that encompasses infantry combat, tank warfare, and aerial combat. It gets progressively less suitable as it scales up. I'm not a games developer, but it's a shame they can't have a system whereby beyond a certain distance the trees are treated as a single, dense mass - like a cloud - rather than remaining as a bunch of individual objects. 'cause as you can see it doesn't scale. -

The biggest problem with an idea like that is the genie is out of the bottle. People have already gotten accustomed to being able to have everything at will and most will not likely go back to vanilla even if quitting is the only alternative. I do intend on playing on public hives as the only reason I left them to begin with was the abundance of hackers. Once they get their network bubble figured out my one complaint should be gone. That's not to say that six months in I wouldn't want something more, and private hives might offer that extra content and experience that dlc would if it existed at that point. I agree with the OP that it would definitely help the game in the long run if they forced everyone on the same public hive for the first few months. The biggest threat to a stable community right now is the ease with which every twelve year old playing can pull just a few players away to a private hive. Once doesn't hurt anything but when the vast majority of servers have just a few players it doesn't help anyone. I always laugh at the amount of people trying to advertise this new amazing server that's loaded with absurd crap. The perfect piece of evidence of this community being broken was a post I once made on these forums. I made a joke post about a new server I opened that had thousands of vehicles, hundreds of helis and F18s, donate for an invisibility cloak, etc and people actually thought I was serious. I expected a few pages of people laughing with me and instead found people actually thinking it was real. It was kind of sad really.
