    what happen if SA sucks?

    True but you can't really overhype something that is already out. If he is just reworking the mod with better everything and more survival then nothing can really go wrong except melee. Seeing as that's going to be a big part of the game it better work and well. If it feels like the mod people are going to be dissappointed. Unless you're uninformed expecting to have vehicles and a load of guns from day one then you're over hyping.
  2. I would like to join a hero clan for vanilla DayZ on the official hive servers. I'm 14 years old and a male. I"m mature and have experience. I can fly and drive vehicles. I like the SVD, M14 Aim, M4A3 CCO, and sub machine guns. I have a mic and I can use Skype, Ventrilo, or TeamSpeak. Edit: Just realized the typo in my title.

    I'm sorry, maybe I got the wrong quote or I am missing something, but I don't quite understand. To me, "survival" play is what defined vanilla DayZ - and from what I heard from the devs and a few testers, it will be even more of a focus in Standalone. "Mega loot, weapons, 10.000 vehicles" I automatically affiliate to some of DayZ's mods, where mechanics seem to be exaggerated compared to vanilla (and I do believe this is what DemonGroover was referring to). "Ending up like every other shooter" is something I'm afraid of happening to DayZ Mod at this point, with every other version adding more loot and "shooter"-heavy equipment. If anything, I expect DayZ Standalone to be more of a barebone experience, therefore scaring people, than becoming a watered down "every other shooter". Again, I'm sorry if I misunderstood anything, I just find your two statements to be somewhat contradictory. If the standalone sucks, it will be a pity. My best guess is some friends and me will refrain from playing it for a while, waiting for things to get refined and finished, then returning back to it - I suspect if it sucks to me, it's because of the game's state, as I really like the approach they are going for.

    DayZ - Battle Royale Very first game

    I am having a major problem!!!! About 10 minutes after the game starts i yellow chain and am able to keep playing but cant drive vehicles and i never see any death messages or mission objective messages. Can you please tell me what i am doing wrong.

Hello all, im looking to set a epoch server up, with a few mods installed, looking to have the following installed, auto refuel, self bloodbag, safezone tradercities, loadout pack (What you spawn with), ai bus, crafting system, remove parts from vehicles, towing + lifting, weapon cache missions, medic cache mission, animated helicrashes, base building, custom wrecks with loot, siphon fuel, increased crash sites with brief case of gold if possible?, extra loot, ai missions, 500 max vechicles, infected camps, extra barracks, debug monitor with added server uptime, next restart fps etc. If anyone is interested in helping send me a pm and we can talk :) Thanks!
  6. Hello DayZ Forum! I have just started a brand new DayZ Overwatch server! We don't have a ton of players on the server right now but we usually have 3+ members on at all time which is why I'm trying to get your help! The server IP is: 69.39.239.137:3068 The TeamSpeak IP is: tscan1.vilayer.com:9999 The server has over 150 vehicles so it's not terribly hard to find one but it's also not easy which makes DayZ fun. Our server has increased loot spawns so you will find yourself finding more weapons and ammo! All of our admins are above the age of 15 and are not abusive. They are reasonable and they love to help out as much as they can. All that you need to do to help us is play! Thank you for reading this post and taking this into consideration.     Car ideas thread

    Here is a list of my car ideas post yours below - spark plugs -wheels( not tyres) tht have a nut that you can lock so ppl can't steel your tyres -air conditioning to keep you warm - gear appears in boot -siphon fuels -different types off glass -shoot out lights -working rear view mirrors -some vehicles need keys -in abundance but red and have little fuel - car battery's , rust over time -shoot out of them - spray paint - radio in car -find car stickers to use -IED plant in car to ignition start up =boom -need to refuel oil and eater
  8. Ah I forgot to update this again... For the Pro version I've added a new feature, Side-by-side comparison for Ammunition, Vehicles and Weapons. Picture paints a thousand words! This will make it much easier if you're in a situation where you need to know which item is better, and fast. I still need to add another drop down menu that will categorize all the items, as it is just one big list just now. Hopefully get this sorted out for next update. I hope someone reply's to this topic, even heavy criticism will do.. I feel lonely here :( If mods see this let me know if just me posting isn't what you want on the forum, and I will stop straight away. Thank ya.
  9. I'd like to see progression in the character's appearance. Like if you don't shave, he grows a beard over time. Or he/she gets fatter or skinnier depending on how often and what he/she eats. I'd think some scripted actions like swapping weapons, bandaging wounds or fixing vehicles could become quicker the more you do them. You character could also develop greater strength, running speed and stamina over time. These are things that aren't reflected by the RL players skill. But certainly no weapon power-ups for completing 20 head shots. That would be stupid.

More info added to the debug menu (Vehicle Count, GPS Coords, Players, Players with in 1000 m) Better way to set custom loadouts. Ability to Suicide. Able to deploy Bike & Gyro from toolbox. Custom Loot Tables. Removing Fog from weather. Halo Jumps for new spawns. Auto Refueling. Removing parts from vehicles. More to come over the next days

  13. We finished up for the day here just now. It was a good day, the focus has been: Finalizing the flow into game Not holding up release All the basic stuff like, creating your character, joining a server, etc... Then some steam integration so you know which servers your friends are on, and such. We're using steams API, which while is it great being free of gamespy we're not sure whether external apps (like six or dayzcommander) are able to poll steam's servers. So we want to make sure our browser provides some improved functionality. Optimizing/Bugfixing Dedicated server This is why we are not out. We need performance We think we need a minimum of 15 FPS will 50 players, 2000 zombies, and 25000 loot items. Our latest tests have all shown some runaway systems in the code we have to tidy up. The variable synchronization system that was developed for work with the network bubble, is checking the variables very often. We're optimizing this. Also, there are many string comparisons. These have been refactored so references are used (lookup numbers) to speed up the process. things like animations etc... are generally recorded as strings - ArmA wasn't build to handle very large numbers of things so this has been a large area of optimization. We also have a bug where sounds (which are temporary vehicles) are being queued up and sent to all JIP players. This causes us a steady loss of performance on the server. The synchronized variables are also checked for each player, this is inefficient and we are refactoring that. It is our biggest obstacle to releasing the alpha right now. We know what needs to be done with it so we're working on that, then we will again reassess the performance. Why not just say its not out on xxx day? If I start saying "oh it won't be out then" people start asking me about the day after, and the day after. So it just encourages people to keep asking me when it is, and the "announced date" would be when I go "yeah, it could be out then". What we have now We have now something that provides basic functionality for 10-20 players. The new zombies are in, they provide excellent pathfinding outdoors, and improved pathing indoors. They are capable of breadcrumb navigation or line of sight. At low server FPS they will start to rubberband and glitch through walls much more often. They are very much a work in progress. Client performance out of the cities is very, very smooth. We still have a bug in the cities that occurs (and shouldn't) that causes lower framerates. This will eventually be solved, but for now it is noticable when looking at center of cities. Overall, the feedback from the testers is that performance is much smoother than with the mod. The inventory is a bit of a mixed bag. There are some mistakes we have made that, unless we delayed the standalone, we can't fix until later. But overall, I think it is a huge step up. Stacked items, wetness, damage, crafting, containers, clothing, weapons, pistol holsters, bags, melee weapons, chainsaws, masks, gloves, boots... you name it. So, what next? We keep optimizing the build. In the meantime, I would encourage everyone to checkout Project Zomboid which is now available on steam. This has been a massive design inspiration and I recommend it to everyone interested in DayZ.
  14. Added some more features: Drink from all water sources - suchs as wells, ponds, ocean without a can. Just drink. But you do risk infection. Zombie Zapper - You can now build a zombie zapper and kill any zombie within a radius. Zombie lasts 3minutes, but it may be increased to 5 or so in the future. 3 seems a bit short. Old Tent Placing System - Now you should be able to place a tent in places as you could back in the olden good days. I haven't really tested this, but it should be just fine. Also removed the vehicles from AI Missions. No sense in cars being there when they wont last a server restart. I also increased vehicles on server. Our server's population is still kinda low, but increasing every day. Come play and stay :D

    DayZ Apocalyptic Gold Run

    AsDark Gaming is going to be hosting an event today on their DayZ Epoch server where there will be a convoy transporting an unspecified amount of gold. We figured that it would be more fun, with the more people there was, so we would like you guys to join us in trying to take the convoy and staking your claim.     A server like no other

    We are a growing community from lone wolfs to big clans to guys that are so friendly that if they get murdered the entire server hunts them down! (kinda funny actually) Custom Military bases spread out through the map, road blocks, New cities, New weapons, NO building degrade and buildings are indestructible, 500 build limit Roaming bandit AI, City filled with AI and good loot ( risk/reward) , self blood-bag, missions, 400+ vehicles, safe trade, take clothes, and many more to come. We do alot for our community!     I think that players who are used to servers that provide mega loot, weapons, 10,000 vehicles etc etc may be disappointed in the SA.

    Look for a server called awkack.org Basically has everything you're after (slightly more vehicles and buildings) and a few other tweaks but not overkill. Although it hasn't been hugely busy recently, there was normally 20+ people on at peak times

Our community consists of mature and decent people, and we'll welcome anyone with open arms. NPC Cleaning Groups - Patrols of anti-infection cleaning squads are spread around the map. These are hostile to any survivor, and one should keep a distance. Vehicles - We've added a lot of new custom cars, such as new trucks, new pickups and a Survivor Humvee. We've also retextured and recolored many of the existing cars, to make them more unique and personal for the owners. That good old GAZ might just be interesting after all! Weapons - For the weapon freaks out there, chances are you'll find your favorite weapon with our mod. We have as many as 65 types of weapons laying around all over the map. Custom areas - To spice up the map, we removed all the the randomly generated overlapping debris that was in the DayZ mod to begin with, and added new interesting areas to scavenge. Permanent camps - We also offer permanent camps here at Apocalypse RP. We won't to go into detail right here, but it basically means that you can build a camp that will be implemented directly to the map - and you can make it pretty cozy! ARP Mod v.1.2 RELEASED ARP mod v1.2 will introduce you to a much more realistic world, where you actually have to strive to achieve end game gear and items. The loot is rewritten and coded so that you have to look for items in, on or under furnitures such as closets, shelves, tables etc. Lots of new items has been added, along with use effects for some of them. You can for example use cigarettes and matches to cauterize wounds, and smoke weed to kill your pains. The mod opens for a better world both for teamwork and for the lonewolfs. You can for example cook different kinds of food which gives you more blood, and craft arrows and quivers from ingame materials. It would make filming easier, on us youtubers 3:If SP is added, i would love to see a SP development kit. Just for some of us that aren't coding prodigies, it would be something to see.
