    Today is a sad day for me

    Seriously, the whole map will be a safezone, no one can steal or damage your vehicles, and you have to turn pvp ON to shoot other players even when you're in pvp spots. Everyone gets a chopper at spawn and we got rid of that whole infection/sickness thing entirely. Now you just have to press the spacebar once in a while so your character doesn't take a nap. edit: You can now build barracks with barbed wire and tin cans.

    Pad locks for the moment, not much you can use locks on that make sense, maybe if they add stashboxes you could set up at your camp or something combination locks shooting secondary weapons from driver seat of vehicles Last I heard something in the Arma Engine prevents shooting from vehicles ala GTA/Saints Row, weapons have to be mounted to the vehicle shooting primary or secondary from passengers seat dormant zombies that sit in buildings and cars that get up and attack when you are near could add to the game, would mostly be jumpscares or lead to people 'double tapping' bodies, which isn't a bad thing knife, hatchet, and machete assassinations I assume you mean 'press R3 for instant kill' assassinations, dont really like the sound of that car keys for cars that u find on dormant zombies near that car been discussed many times in different ways hot wiring kit IRL there's no 'kits' for hotwireing, depending on how old the car is you could simply rip open the cowl from the steering colum, rip wires and strip them with your teeth, and cross the wires that way police stations think this has been added to Chenarus + but not sure, might have just been a jail ​subway/ sower system environments to play in something Rocket wanted to do, haven't heard much else about them deer Think they've been added or are on the agenda so to speak
  12. It's never specified how long DayZ occurs after the apocalypse. Obviously it's been at least a few weeks, but that could be just it, only a few weeks. I'd think that some vehicles would still have small amounts of fuel left, but at the same time being damaged. Also, not every vehicle should be orange, there could be the rare chance of finding well-preserved vehicles. Inside of garages or hangars, they aren't nearly as exposed to the weather and would likely be in better condition. I just don't think that using completely blank words like every or none work well.
  13. I think this is another one of those things we should 'turn a blind eye to'. Sure, old fuel in a rusty tank would probably end up damaging your engine or entirely useless, but in the name of 'fun' and 'gameplay' we should ignore that. In the SA players should be able to go around and siphon fuel from vehicles, with varying results, but as the vehicles are mostly in visible places such as highways it would draw a lot of attention. Perhaps it would encourage playing at night?

    Yup, US 3533 has had double vehicles for as long as I can remember, and I always thought the admin had somehow done this on purpose. There have been quite a few times where they spawn inside each other, resulting in massive explosions whenever I tried moving them. I guess this really is a bug. Anyway, this all makes sense now. Thanks.

    Answered your own question there. You do not have access to them, as those informations aren't stored on your server. Would be too easy to manipulate like in your case where you're trying to do it as well. There's a reason noone has access to it. Nein. Because it's bugged. Some servers simply have really exactly doubled amounts of vehicles, as they spawn inside each other. An old ARMA-problem as far as I'm aware.
  19. UPDATE TIME!!!! I just added another new feature to the Sanctum!! In case a leveling system, 900+ new weapons, 100+ new vehicles, 30+ new skins, setting tents on fire, stripping vehicles for parts, a 100% custom loot table, AI, and more wasn't enough. There is now a mission system added to the server. Random missions will be generated at random times for Survivors to take a chance to complete to receive the rewards at the end. Weapon crates are created with some nice loot (still modifying further) as the reward! If you haven't taken the time to check it out, it truly is worth the effort to download rmod2.1 and SoC Mod!   20. Hello there! I am 16 and I am looking for a EU based Epoch clan. I'm not into Taviana so I'd like to play on a Chernarus map. I prefer playing on a private hive without 1000 vehicles/instant repair/barracks everywhere. I speak fluent English and I have a teamspeak that we can use (40slot). I have a lot of experience with arma 2 (200 hours) and DayZ (400-500hours). I prefer using a long range weapon as I hate CQC as it is broken on arma 2. Send me a message if you want to have a chat!

  22. Hello, everyone! I think I'll make this a thread for me to share my personal experiences with the people that desire death and chaos over life and peace, in these dark times. I also would like you all to remember that I have only been in DayZ and entire day (today) since my break from the game a long, long time ago. I'll begin with two stories! I loaded up an overwatch server to see what the difference was between it and vanilla, surprised to find that the military loot was much more broad in spectrum and convenient to locate. My friend and I hopped into a UAZ that was near the coast, just left in the middle of nowhere and set off to see the sights again. Finding our way to Devil's Castle, we ran across a jeep that was driving in the opposite direction. Quickly, we turned off the road and got out - weapons ready for a conflict if there was to be one; but not before shouting the classic 'Freindly!' call-sign, which we also got one in return. There were three men in total within the jeep, though they didn't seem all that friendly to us. Only one had the good grace to leave his vehicle to greet us, but they soon turned away and drove off about 200 meters away - leaving us with the impression that they didn't much care for us. Getting back into our UAZ and continuing on our way, I peeked out the back windshield and spotted a secondary cloud of dust, indicating that they were following us. Urging my friend to keep moving forwards and into the next treeline, we rushed back out and got behind some thick trees for cover. Once they were within range, I called out again, questioning why they were following us - only to hear their faint voices as they too exited their vehicles a mere 150 meters away. "Let's kill them." Oh, they were in for it now. I glanced at my partner, who lined up his sniper and took the first shot in retaliation, nailing the jeep with a loud clank. The three immediately went to take cover, but one sadly couldn't make it as I rinsed him thoroughly with a cleansing stream of hot lead. Now see, the thing about 14 year old bandits is that they typically don't think their cover through, nor about who they're messing with. It didn't take the sharpest eye to notice that they parked on an incline, the jeep having rather high suspension and in turn leaving them (as they've now gone prone behind it) rather open. With another few seconds of burst fire on their position, the three died - not a single shot having been fired in return. A fitting massacre to the silly, blood-thirsty teens. As for my second story... My partner and I parted ways soon after the conflict, mostly due to his need to shoot people on sight. I found another server, one that was still vanilla DayZ but with more buildings and such scattered throughout Chernarus. I spawned just east of Elektro, leading me to think that I may as well just go see what was going on in there. With the successive firing of sniper rifles and what sounded like an AK, I discretely made my way ip the southern side of Sniper Hill, spotting a couple of bandits hiding behind trees near each other. Seeing as I was completely unarmed, I decided to try and sneak up on them - hoping to snatch a gun from their bags and deal with them smartly. After about five minutes of careful crouching and rolling about, I ended up directly behind them - the two completely unaware of my presence. Now, this is where it got a bit interesting. As soon as I opened the bag of the nearest bandit, I noted that it made an odd noise. And that the UI for it was completely different to what I was used to seeing. This server was apparently very unique. So unique in fact that the two bandits were now completely alerted to my presence, due to the fact that it had just sounded as though I'd unzipped and flopped my junk out for the world to see - right beside their ears. They turned silently, looking at the unarmed survivor as he simply laid prone in the grass behind them - speechless. I took the initiative. "Well hello there!" Suffice it to say, they were amazed by the fact that I'd managed to sneak up on the two of them and get into their backpacks (which were both empty), offering me a sidearm and a hatchet to solve my peaceful nature. Accepting them with delight, I asked them what they were up to ( at this stage also noticing that the initial bandit turbans they were sporting had since disappeared within the draw distance, replaced with a camo outfit and a normal survivor's skin), trying to play off the fact that I had almost killed them if the circumstances were right. Seeing as they didn't kill me, I accepted their offer to hang out with them - another of their friends rocking up a few moments later with a Dragunov rifle, which I rather liked the look of. Nevertheless, these people weren't on my kill list any longer - as they certainly spared me. We headed off, down back to the shoreline where I had previously spotted a car in need of repairs. Foregoing them, we continued past and towards the unique compounds scattered throughout the server; a castle much like Devil's Castle, only the insides were all wrong - a hospital, some barracks and a factory replacing what would have been towers. We continued scavenging from these, slowly getting more and more geared up as we went until we finally said our goodbyes - my gear now primed for action. From having absolutely nothing, I came across a DMR, M14 AIM, Ghilli suit, a tonne of supplies and an interesting experience with what people usually think are the scum of the island. What about you guys? Had any similar experiences? Or perhaps some questions? I'm open to any comments! Also, before you ask; I am trying to run as a hero at the moment, meaning that I won't be shooting anyone that doesn't have a turban unless fired upon first. Any other heroes out there? TLDR; I killed some noobs, got geared up travelling with some bandits even though I'm doing a hero run.

    Limited Climbing Ability(as average people can do)

    If their brain were gone they would be dead. I would rather see the zeds as humans in a rabid like state. No social skills whatsoever, the only emotion they know is hatred towards the living ( maybe because they are different? ). Basic skillsso to speak. I don't see anything stopping them from doing what we do expect manipulating complex things like weapons, vehicles and other things like f.e. bandaging. Firing would not be a problem, even a monkey can fire a gun when he pulls the trigger but i can hardly believe you can tell them how to point a gun at a target and hit it.
  24. I'd love for fuel stations to not have fuel or have very little on rare occasions. Maybe crashed fuel tankers could be a rare but popular spot to nab some fuel. However "limited amounts" and a huge player congestion zone for all tiers of players. Cars IMO should spawn commonly as empty abandoned wrecks aside the road. Farms would be the best place to find fuel tanks that still had fuel and jerrycans aswell. Farms always have jerrycans where I live, often when you might be on orange light and just too far from station to risk it so you always have a couple fuel cans. I'd like for fuel to have a few more uses aswell, a handy dandy fire trail. If BI could make something like GTA has for its fuel can I'd be a very happy bean king. Also sticky gasoline stuff from polystyrene and petrol mixed together. Boxes of poly styrene would occasionally spawning warehouses and residentials suggesting packaged auto parts or a new TV was inside once upon a time. I'd definately love to have more vehicles though, the most fun I've ever had was a 400 vehicle server but... We didn't spawn with DMR's only a Makerov. :D

    Majority of playerbase are kids?

    The problem with "modern" aka "younger" gamers is that they grew up during the tutorial generation where games hold your hand and walk you down a linear path while your health regenerates within a few seconds of taking damage and, just like the special Olympics, everyone is a winner in the end. Contrast this with my generation (33 years of age) I grew up on games like Ninja Gaiden, and later on, Quake II, Counter-Strike, etc. I'm not going to say that gamers now are "worse" at video games, only that they have been spoiled and become entitled. They never had the character building experience of spending an entire weekend after several months of practice making it to the final boss in Ninja Gaiden, just to die on his 2nd form and be thrown back to the very beginning of the area, losing all of your power-ups in the process. DayZ is MEANT to be hard, and unreasonably cruel. It's meant to test your meddle and force you to make difficult decisions. It's a SURVIVAL game. The object is to SURVIVE.. There are better 1st person shooters if what you're looking for is constant PVP action. And yet, somehow you see it.. You see servers catering to these clowns who want non-stop gun-battles. I'm not about to say gun-battles are not fun or that I do not enjoy occasionally hopping into a private hive server for some good ol' fashioned PVP action.. But these servers should not be the majority of our options and they should not be the most populated. The fact that they are populated means that some people out there actually are attracted to the idea of 1000+ vehicles, which means you never have to experience the pain and frustration of getting shot and having your helicopter stolen RIGHT when you were on your way back to put the Main Rotor Assembly on.. It means they never get to experience the tension of being completely helpless in front of another survivor who's menacingly wielding a Winchester in your general direction while you stand there without so much as a backpack or a hatchet... Because those servers spawn you with items/gear/weapons. It means they never get to experience running around in the dark with flares never knowing that you're being watched by a DMR sniper who has night vision, because there's never a night time on these servers.. It means they can fly willy-nilly over Elektro in broad daylight in a helicopter because if they get shot down they know they're only 10 minutes away from having another chopper. Of course, this "EZMODE" version of DayZ attracts the entitled and the entitled are usually entitled because they've never had their character forged and sharpened to a hard, cold edge in the fires of Ninja Mother Fucking Gaiden and others of it's ilk. They've never experienced the ecstasy of overcoming something TRULY difficult and daunting in their entire life. <3
