Vehicles will be rare and will be hard to repair/fix up. Especially with how the loot is going to work in the future. I'm game with the odd vehicle or two, but when it starts getting crazy, that's when it starts getting crappy and boring. I hope vehicles will be super hard to find and even more harder to repair. -
In my opinion lightly armed vehicles are a necessity, like Technicals and MI-17s with PKM's and PKT's. While alot of people think helicopters with guns are OP, they really aren't. If the helicopter is moving at a decent, it is practically impossible to hit anything smaller than a car. If you do, it's more luck than skill. The only way to kill players with the helis was to slow down or stop the helicopter, at which point it is ridiculously easy to kill the crew - i cannot tell you how many times I've shot out gunners with M14s, M24s, SVDs, AKMs, Lee-enfields, and even a Winchester. The main use of armed helicopters is to Suppress the opponents so the helicopter can get away, or to engage vehicles. Your not going to be wasteing hundreds of bullets on players, like in the mod. And technicals - seeing as you will probably be able to shoot right through cars, they are extremely far from OP, as the same limitations to helicopter guns apply, but they are much easier to hit than heli gunners.

Can you please give me the IP to that Epoch server? I'm desperate to find a good one, since all of them are now "extra loot", "extra vehicles", "extra everything", cause little kids want everything extra...

Hey guys My names George, I am the lead coder for Evolved Gaming. Evolved Gaming was founded in 2013 and currently supports dayz epoch servers. As a small comunity we are trying to think of new ideas and support a multi game comunity. Currently we run 3 Dayz Epoch servers. Namalsk, Panthera and Napf. All of which have a large variety of mods that we all love. Recently we released of new server, Napf. We named this Overpoch, It is an amalgamation of epoch and overwatch. It's base is still epoch but with a addon pack merges Overwatch and roughly 20 mods that include new vehicles clothing and wepaons. The following is a list of all the mods the server currently supports. I don't really mind whatever kind of vehicle is put in as long as it consumes fuel, Starts of low to very low on fuel, if not empty. Finally, have fuel be a rare commodity. It would be better if the different types of vehicles used the type of fuel that they use IRL. Make the more powerful vehicles/weapon platforms harder to keep fueled. That would help mitigate some of the "zerging" of areas. People wouldn't not be able to troll areas to no end if their fuel is always at risk of running out. Would also set up some interesting interactions where one group may raid another just for their fuel or perhaps different options such as trading for the fuel.

I played the mod as a hero, i found it hands down the best way to play Unless they add distinct medical clothing or hero markers so I can display my intentions from a distance, i dunno...hopefully vehicles will rekindle the SA into a game that finally beats the mod for amount of stuff to actually do

Basically I'd like most of the vehicles that dayz mod already has. Don't want any crazy modern stuff anyway. Btw speaking about cars, don't tell me guys, you never felt the thrill ,when you heard one approaching? I've always darted to bushes, went prone, checked my weapon and waited.... If they did not plan to add any cars, it would be a very bad move. -

I have always been a fan, in the DayZ mod, of personal vehicles. Motorcycle, bicycle, ATV. Mainly because I am a loner and have no friends. No one loves me. -
Simple fact is also that not every building is enterable like the SA has. The loot is pretty much similar but the weapons are far more vast and easier to obtain than the SA. Also...don't overlook vehicles...they allow you to traverse any map MUCH easier

Some basic civilian cars/motorbikes/bicycles, a bus, some boats(jet skis and dinghies), a few military vehicles but nothing heavily armored, just logistic trucks and the like, and of course, jellywhoppers/possibly a few civilian planes, no fighter jets or anything. There should be a large variety of vehicles but they should be extremely rare and those that are around should be badly damaged, taking hours/days to find the necessary parts to repair it. They should never spawn ready to drive, apart from the bicycles, obviously. They should also remain on server restart, that's a must. -

For me, it's not so much about what vehicles are put in, but when it comes to motorized vehicles, I would actually like to be forced to operate a manual transmission with the mouse (maybe just have it so that you click on the required point on the stick, to not make it too demanding) in free look, and even possibly have different buttons for the pedals, including the clutch. Maybe: W for gas, Shift for clutch, and space for brakes. Also, bicycles. Those definitely need to be put into the game. EDIT: The free look -thing is totally doable, since you can pretty easily fly a helicopter in 'Take on helicopters' like that. -

I think add a few generic civ vehicles and make them fully upgradable so they are mil-grade. And Rocket, I swear to God, if you leave out my helicopters I'll personally murder you. -

Too bad for you, cus they are adding vehicles. thats a fact. you might enjoy running for hours on end taking forever to get anywhere, but most other people dont. and not sure if you noticed, but they're expanding the map to the north, so it'll only be getting bigger. sure sounds like fund running half an hour to get up there,, -

No vehicles please, I feel these would bring even more problems to the game and break the balance. Just think about the scumbag gang patroling the coast and kosing freshies for the lulz. Maybe the occasional bike, but these should be really hard to repair -
What's to stop people from staying at the coast where pretty much everything they could want is? Just suggesting that parts of the map need to have specific items to encourage players to travel there, all of varying value; these could be kept in special locations that would justify their existence pretty much only there. EXAMPLES: Petrol Tankers-- for when vehicles are introduced, a pretty much endless source of siphonable fuel for players that can maybe even also be driven; hiding at Gvozdno, just coming into the map near Grozovoy Pass, and innawoods trails near Vyshnoye. Military Museum-Dubrovka: Ex-Soviet uniforms, shashka sabers, and mosin nagants/ammo hiding out here. This should be a nearly exclusive spawn point of the Soviet uniforms and shashkas, apart from the odd civilian home. Prison--Riot gear and possibly tasers, or some other kind of nonlethal device not found in the police stations. I know the prison's been announced, so I won't try and slap a place label on it, but if they put it in, say, Zelenogorsk then like I'm saying you'll see more players making up-map treks. Can Opener Factory at Krasnostav: Not really exclusive but a guaranteed place to find yourself a can opener. Pitchforks: Only at midmap farming country houses, such as Kabanino, Grishno, Stary Sobor etc. Suggestions of map-location-specifc loot welcome.

I really hope they either increase the map size even more or add detrimental to driving top speed, since the cars in the mod could probably generate enough speed for lift-off if they were given wings. (it's a post apocalyptic eastern European country so rocks and potholes should really be discouraging driving super super fast) ^ same goes for a helicopter but I think weather and wind, availability and technical skill requirements will hopefully play a solid role there. The again I really enjoy the slow pace DayZ forces on you and I know a lot of people who don't. anyway since I haven't seen anyone suggest this but quad bikes, they should really fit in well. Also maybe some ancient soviet era amphibious vehicles/ military ones, although they should be very rare imo. -

Simplicity and realism please! No harm having the odd military vehicle, but these should be rare as rocking horse shit and really hard to reassemble. For the most part it needs to be civilian vehicles: cars, busses, motorbikes and PUSHBIKES! -
I would really like to see any vehicle guns spawning with no ammo, forcing you to go out and find some to put in the vehicle. But, I would really like shooting with the players guns from vehicles.

I haven't been paying attention lately, and I've heard conflicting things about Utes. The first was that they wanted to put the large prison on Utes, but they snuffed that idea because it just felt shoehorned in. Two things came form that, some say that they're not gonna add Utes at all, the second is they are gonna add Utes, it just won't have the prison (which is what I think is gonna happen). Right now Utes isn't in because it'd just take up resources and not get used. If they are going to add it in they'll add it in probably either with vehicles (boats and aircraft) or sometime there after. I don't think they'ed add in Panthera to the Chenarus map. Mostly because it's a fan made map as opposed to a BI map (at least I think it is, could be wrong). And lore wise Utes is on the Arma map South Southeast of where we play. Maybe they'll add some other things in that big empty area between Utes and the mainland (floating ships more than likely), maybe they won't.

Just make items have log that record few last persons that interacted with it last. This helps with groups. Dead person is removed from that when he dies, until he interacts it with again in his new life. Same with vehicles. If dead person is only in the log item is respawned somwhere or removed if its something that cant be spawned in immediately like rare high value stuff. Item that hasnt been touched for x days gets despawned. None can pefrect this system, but there is good compromise somewhere between realism and gameplay.. Also persons death could start rng on items he has interacted last to be despawned. Everything just cant be deleted/moved, then groups and their bases are screwd. Also you body and items cant be straight lootable for you..

If you find running boring then this game isn't for you. You'll have to do it for at least three months more until vehicles are added :D

Admittedly it isn't nearly as balanced as the mod, but the mod worked due to exclusive loot as well as vehicles and camps. You could only get blood bags and epi-pens on the coast and you could only get the 1337 uber awesome guns/NVG's/Rangefinders in the 2 barracks and heli crashes, and then plenty of isolated areas on the outskirts. The number of supermarkets along the western belt also helped, since tents were always sought after. Now admittedly it is focused on the coast atm, but a few basic things my fix that. First of all simply getting military tents to spawn loot would shift the focus back to the NWAF and Starry. Then of course as they get new places added, and then hunting and camps and such. It'll even out, we're just waiting.

Will DayZ standalone have all the features of DayZ mod like vehicles, helicopters, building a base? I hope it's going to be! Thanks!
