    DayZ 1.8 Feedback

Overall, this patch puts dayz in a really good state with a few bugs. I like the new drink system a lot. I usually just went soda to soda with no issues, and now dehydration can happen (it might be a bit too rapid a rate, not too sure yet). However, I do have two main issues both with zombies. Their attack radius is either too long or bugged. It really makes any town completely not worth going into. I can work with their high damage output, but the range is too much. Another issue for me is zombies spawning in a line behind me as I run. Every few seconds about 10-15 feet behind me a new aggroed zombie spawns in. This can lead to me being chased by 30 zeds or so. >:( And Borges post before mine, I have the same issue. It is a bit drastic. This overall is a great step in the direction for dayz :beans: :beans: :beans: . Good job all, just keep it up.

Arma 2 DLCs..Buy all or just specific ones?

Thanks for info, got them all. Arma 2 extra missions was also a nice addition, I am sure they will be played at some point.
  3. So here is my question. All of Arma 2's DLC are for sale on steam, and I know they will only boost textures in Dayz. Is it recommended to buy all 3 with perks visiable from each one, or does one certain pack (like BAF) do more than others? Any info would be great, just wondering. Long Live Dayz Mod! <3

    why do YOU play DayZ?

I played the mod as a hero, i found it hands down the best way to play Unless they add distinct medical clothing or hero markers so I can display my intentions from a distance, i dunno...hopefully vehicles will rekindle the SA into a game that finally beats the mod for amount of stuff to actually do

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

I really wish there was some indication. I understand how that is not realistic, but a few aspects of this game really make the mod shine...

Dayz in five words or less

Dayz - More complaining, less gaming

Anyone Miss the Mod's Medical and Humanity Approach?

I agree the humanity system was broken as all hell, but if this could be tweaked into a new system, I would be all for it But I do recognize the value of everyone being constantly considered a threat without cautions being given by the game. I am glad I do not make these decisions :D

Anyone Miss the Mod's Medical and Humanity Approach?

Esolu - Yes, by giving my two cents, I am imposing my will of the exact definition of fun to all. Bud, comments like that do not pull you ahead any or win you any Internet fame. The SA is awesome, but I always felt that there was more to Dayz then just the survival aspects. Getting enough tools and medical loot was always step 1, then I could move onto Step 2 whichever that was. The humanity system was broken, but I still like player recognition even if it's not "like that in real life." But maybe I am just completely mad; this is probably more accurate. Just my opinion.
  11. First off, the SA is awesome. It has several upgrades from the Mod and the new survival aspects will take it into a new realm of awesome. Once vehicles hit, I will play nothing else, and there is still a ways to go. This said, I have stopped playing it for some time, and I am back in the mod. Why? The Mod is a Simulator that got 1.7 million players by NOT being completely lifelike. I would argue that this is an aspect that I have not seen in the SA at all. What is better for me -> An awesome video game, not a simulator where I will spend hours doing simply basic and trivial survival things (EVEN THOUGH I recognize this as a core game mechanic, I would kill for the old medical supplies as opposed to ALL the new aspects such as colds and heart attacks) and then move up to better things with some morphine and a pack of antibiotics being all that is required. Basically, I would rather worry about zombies, look for helicopters, shoot bandits, and talk with heroes (I vote for this system to come back). This survival approach has merits, but I have 400 hours in the mod with its limits, bugs, and 3 medical items. If I could have the Mod with better graphics and mechanics only, I would be happier.

    Humanity Bug

This just happened to me as well. The bandit actually wounded me, then I killed him. Still lost my hero skin. Dayz takes so much away...

    Current State of Dayz

the zombies are just fine, no problems I actually find med supplies now its just i miss the vehicle aspect of the game....you pass fuel stations, parts, and cars that are simply too broken too fix by meself....i mean, why keep them in the game at all if you need a 3 man squad to fix a motorcycle?
