Vanilla did not have any Armed vehicles. In 1.8.1 they were going to be implemented. However, 1.8.1 is still being worked on..

Honestly, there should only be 6 or so civilian vehicles. Going with the "alternate brand name" schtick, For Civilian vehicles, I'd want: Bicycle Moped Jetski "Chetsy" Small Boat Pickup: "Fjord Z150 Truck" SUV: "Hand-Over"

MAP -Make Chernarus bigger to expand the world. 25km x 25km map with 441km2 of land (21km x 21km). Or make it huge when vehicles are added ingame -Make Cherno, Electro, and other major cities bigger and have it to look more like an urban environment instead of majority suburbs. Major Cities need more apartments instead of houses and have other areas in cities to make them more urban -Add interactive destruction physics to buildings but not entirely change the map -Create new maps instead of Chernarus. Include: Namalsk, Taviana, Lingor, Thirsk, Takistan, Al Fallujah, Pantera. -Create servers with each map individually and have servers with all maps -Make all maps visitable with vehicles in servers with all maps combined GROUPS/FACTIONS -Create a way to make groups/factions while at server room -Create random spawn points around the map unless players create a group/faction. In this case make players in a group/faction spawn together ZOMBIES -Make A LOT MORE ZOMBIES and have sometimes massive wondering hordes -Make the zombies a more bigger threat than other players -When a player dies the body of the player will become a zombie after a certain amount of time -Players' zombie bodies are lootable -Zombies cant go through walls -Zombies rely on mainly hearing and sight to guide theme -Fix zombie specs when zombies respawn PLAYERS -Fresh spawns will spawn with random condition (hungry, thirsty, etc). -Fresh spawns will spawn with random starting items -More character customization including: race, gender, starting shirt, etc -Create 12 slots on top corner, above items in inventory section for: Headgear, Facewear, Shirt, Vest, Pants, Shoes, Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Sidearm/Heavy Weapon, Melee Weapon, Gloves, and Holsters (arrow quivers, pistol holster) WEAPONS -Add much more old, inprovised, and modern weapons. -Create 4 weapon slots instead of 3 weapon slots: Primary, Secondary, Sidearm/Heavy Weapon, Melee -PRIMARY: Any firearm -SECONDARY: Any firearm -SIDEARM/HEAVY WEAPON: Any pistol and any heavy weapon (RPG, Rocket launcher,Mines, Crossbow, Bow) -MELEE: Any weapon used in hand-to-hand combat -Create new area to hold weapons when not in hands -PRIMARY: Strapped across chest (like in the military) -SECONDARY: Strapped behind left shoulder (Current DayZ primary weapon slot) -SIDEARM/ HEAVY WEAPON: Sidearms held in vests and holsters or anywhere with room. Heavy weapon strapped diagonally on the back in front of any carried objects on the back (backpacks) -MELEE: Strapped behind right shoulder (normal melee weapon slot) -WEAPON RESTRICTIONS: CANT CARRY 2 HEAVY WEAPONS OR MELEE WEAPONS. IF CARRY HEAVY WEAPON AS PRIMARY WEAPON SLOT OR SIDEARM/ HEAVY WEAPON SLOT, HEAVY WEAPON IS STRAPPED DIAGONALLY ON THE BACK IN FRONT OF ANY OBJECTS (BACKPACKS). IF CARRY HEAVY WEAPON AS SECONDARY WEAPON SLOT, IT IS STRAPPED BEHIND RIGHT SHOULDER LIKE ALL SECONDARY WEAPONS. NO MORE THAN 4 WEAPONS CAN BE USED AT ONE TIME -Much more weapon attachments, camos, sights -Have extremely rare weapon crates with all attachments, camos, and sights with a 3D interactive window when weapon crate is in use. (Kinda like BF4 multiplayer weapon customization screen) BUILDING -Add building mechanics to barricade walls and windows and build buildings and shelters. -Include: Military Camo nets, Sandbags, Tank Traps, Walls, Stairs, Doors, etc -Add harvestable trees to create building supplies. (planks) MORE IDEAS COMING SOON

Note about getting kicked: Problem about being kicked is you're probably in a street or some other interesting place when you get booted. So very probably the zombies will eat ya for sure. In case the next time you log in you're still alive, then start running FIRST, because by the time you can move properly, the new zombies will be eating you for sure and all the kids in town will be shooting at you too. Don't ever get kicked within a mile of anywhere at all. When I'm on low pop servers now, or "clan" servers or any of those other "XXX" servers, I just never go close to anything interesting ever. It's not worth it. I'm starting to meet enraged zombs half a mile out of anywhere. They used to be rabbits, but now they're NOT. Anyway: I think the 10 minute wait time is NOTHING when you find out a server that SAID it was 13:45h turns out to be Black Midnight. And so you log out. I think the wait time to log into another server should be increased to 2 hours. It is a very very very very very difficult task for a team of pro programmers to get a Server to Tell You What The Time is on the Server World. It's just as difficult as having the in-game sun move and the in-game shadows move during the server day... MORE difficult... definitely, because the sun moves on a timer, and that would have to be READ... My Great Gad.. (lol - do any of you remember in the MOD the clocks on the towers actually TOLD you the real Server Time inside the game). SO obviously we can't expect any paid group of experts to simply SOLVE this problem by working at it.. It's much more logical to tell ONE MILLION kids that the Server is set to 13:03h and then let them find out for themselves its really 02:AM when they get there, then they can spend their TEN MILLION minutes wondering what LIFE is ABOUT, and wondering if maybe they will find a server to play on the next time they try. Good Grief, you think a programming team can solve a problem like "server time" just as easily as sending manned vehicles to the moon or building the International Space Station or Analysing the Human Genome or something... jesus... there are problems and there are PROBLEMS spend your waiting time wisely children... play POKEMON like I do. Can the Standalone not be persuaded by EPOCH's bad features?

In my opinion I would love to see locks on both houses and cars , but it shouldn't be so unrealistic like epoch .. in epich you legit can't lockpick things , in standalone I'm sure they would realize that some survivors know how to break locks , and furthermore some survivors would just break the windows of the car and hot wire it which I'm sure will be a feature when advanced vehicles are in .. -

Destruction/ damaging of Locked vehicles is Not Allowed. How ever in a combat situation damage to vehicles, locked or otherwise, is to be expected. Taking wheels of a locked vehicle is Not classed as damaging there for this is Allowed. No blocking base entrances. No blocking vehicle spawn area's. Using a safe zone as a parking lot is Not Allowed - They will be removed after a warning. Admins have the last word - respect them and their decisions. Do's and Dont's when it comes to building your base: Do's when it comes to building your base: Block off a building! Make it anywhere on the map. Except places below. Do anything you would like to make anywhere. Except buildings below. Dont's when it comes to building your base: Don't block off a building at the coast. Building close to the coast is ok but when doing so, always contact a admin to make sure. Don't block off a barrack that is placed anywhere on the map. Don't build your base right outside of a trader - Placing a safe is Allowed. When moving your base, you have the right to have a admin delete your base and refund it back to you. Rule#2 Gaming has moved o Epoch and opened a new server, enjin and TS3 account for it. We are a PvP and PvE server that wants to make your experience fun and difficult at the same time. We offer - Hero and Bandit AI (They even fight each other) - AI in Vehicles (Helicopters and Planes) - No Plot Pole needed to build - Zombies by the hordes, I mean like 30 will come at you when you shoot - Extra castles, towns and random buildings - Tow and Lift - Self Bloodbag - Take Clothes (even AI) - Zone Alpha AI base (This one is very tough to get by) - Many more mods We are happy to be open after 2 weeks of coding the new server and hope you all enjoy it. When mods and private hives are introduced i feel that the game will turn into what the mod did. Servers with 1000 vehicles and 500 choppers, 5000 weapons etc.

I'm not saying DayZ is _only_ a PVP game, I'm saying the _core_ of DayZ gameplay is PVP, slight differance. You gear up to fight people, you build a base to defend against people, to store loot so it can't be stolen by people, you get vehicles to drive around the map with some protection from people. Zombies don't pose a threat in any of these statements. Even as a fresh spawn your at a greater risk of being shot by a player then dieing to a zombie. Zombies are a after thought, the side dish, the flavoring, nothing more. Non of us look at the airport and factor in zombies when you think about risks, you think about hostile players. People are the real threat in DayZ, not the zombies, not the enviroment, not hunger or thirst, people... -

23/04/2014 - 2nd Bugfix for Disappearing Vehicles - 2nd attempt at fixing this disappearing vehicle bug. There is 2 scripts that run with regards to debris. The first adds the items and the second deletes them when a player is far enough away. I think it could somehow have been possible the deletion one was deleting peoples cars when they were in the position of the old road debris. I've changed the deletion script now so that it never deletes anything on a road (there shouldn't be anything on them anyway). Fingers crossed we don't see this bug again, let me know if you do. -

The mod was a nightmare with no PiP. Will never play non HC if DayZ gets proper PiP for vehicles.

The game has little to no content in terms of "longevity". Once elements such as * Vehicles * Building * Disease system are implemented into the game, people will prioritize on other goals, but atm there really is little for bandits to do other than shooting new spawns and fighting geared players around the new spawn towns. For example : atm Berezino Personally, I like to take hostages and rp a bit. But if I see fully geared players, it's simply "KOS". -
Just a tip for anyone who gets a spawn on the Svetlo highway up north - the scrapyard to the east of Chernaya Polana is full of useful loot. Fully kitted out my newspawn buddy last night with a shotgun, several backpacks (kept finding ever larger ones), pickaxe, clothing with more pockets plus food and drink. Some items spawn under the vehicles so you might have to spam the tab key when standing close to them. Just as well, 'cause the town had been gutted...
