i played the mod a shit load and loved it but once the standalone came out there wasn't much in the game so i got bored really fast, so im just wondering how many more guns are there now? are the any vehicles? and most importantly in my opinion are there camping tents/any way to store your belongings/make a camp yet?

Basic Vehicles ( Small Vehicles /Bicycle / Motorcycles / ATV) in Q3 Advanced Vehicles (Cars / Trucks / Planes / Helicopters / Boats) in Q4

Hi. When the producers include vehicles? (cars, boats, planes?) Greetz Lucaser

I'm against mounting guns on vehicles because I hate fun. I'd rather play a game where no matter how hard I try my character starves to death in his own filth. Fun is terrible and I don't want anyone else to have it. Mounting LMGs on vehicles would be awesome. Using small weapons to shoot out of windows is awesome. If you nay-saying scrubs can't think of a reason not to have these features in-game without saying "omg its like CoD, ur a little kid, go play Arma (which is a military simulator, you brain-dead dolts, not an arcade shooter)" then sit down. DayZ is a survival game, but that's not all I want to do. I don't want to find a bag of rice and go "whelp, that's my end game, gg". I want to mount a machine gun on a car and go buck wild on some zombies or some bandits and go out in a blaze of glory. I don't want to slowly shit myself to death. By all means, you should slowly work your way towards a mini-tank, but so far I've seen no legitimate arguments against the implementation of mounted weapons on vehicles beyond it breaking the rather monotonous status-quo.

lol You think it's bad now? Wait until the KOSers have vehicles and base camps for backup armaments. If you happen to lose your firefight and the group feels like griefing they will follow you to the coast and repeatedly rape you. How about armed helis when implemented? Sweep the coast and kill all new spawns. Rinse and repeat. There are way more important issues to resolve here than the availability of weapons on all servers. Just stop weeping and re-gear ffs.

Coast is for squares. Inland is where all the cool kids hang out. But naw, there's plenty of hot spots up north. Problem is, the map's not finished yet. Similarly, there's no persistent storage or vehicles which is what caused a lot of folks to head north in the mod. Aaaand they haven't upped the player count yet. Aaaaand they don't have zombies where they're supposed to be, which would (hopefully) cause the coastal cities to be suicidal. All in good time. And it has nothing to do with the spawns, I don't WANT people spawning up north.

Hey I'm just looking for a friend to play DayZ Mod/ Standalone with. I have at least 300+ hours on mod (estimate, but purchased Arma 2 OA early last summer) and probably 40 hours on Standalone. I personally feel like holding off on the standalone until they have integrated vehicles into the game. Age : 16 Steam : ѴLASƘƦÖG Teamspeak: Yes Skype : Yes Timezone : Eastern Standard Time ( I live in South Carolina)

ok, maybe I didn't say this clear enough, so let me reiterate Dean is going to have the servers control the rarity of loot spawns......so if there are any vehicles with guns, which none of the devs have even talked about, they would most likely make it a very rare thing, meaning hardly anyone, would have one..... Also, if your driving a car, it brings attention to zombies AS WELL AS other players. Having a car might make handling zombies easier, but it would make handling players harder. It's like running around town screaming with your mic on, it just makes everyone try to kill you...... So there's a catch to having a vehicle like that. I'm not for modern tech, but I'm also not against it, there is going to be some modern technology in a post apocalyptic setting, having a mounted gun on a car isn't exactly modern tech though, thats something that has been happening for a very very long time, it's not like we're talking about creating the T1000....
-
K... One: remember the mod? Remember all the pwning you did in cars?........ exactly. Two: how is a big noisy thing with an exposed gunner on top going to kill everything in sight? Three: if it takes 12+ hours to actually get the thing working, how would everyone be running around in it? Four: with your logic, why isn't everyone always in vehicles in the mod? Five: why the hell are you being so hostile? Vehicles have always been a part of dayz. Calm the **** down.

I think after a period of time, the people who survived would start to adapt to their situation, they'd find a way to salvage what they find and build from there. The would be people who find one spot to live in, they'd build shelter, maybe farm the land, set up defenses etc. Then there'd be the nomadic people who keep moving. It's not like having mounted guns on every car would be realistic in any way, but possibly finding a military vehicle to salvage with an already mounted gun on it is realistic. This is post apocalyptic zombie environment, not a post world war environment. Meaning not everything would be blown up and on fire. People just died from a bunch of crazy, hard to kill virus infected cannibal dudes, so why would vehicles be blown up or anything? I bet most of them would be salvageable. Just my two cents... Note: Also, if you watched the road map presentation, Dean was saying he wanted to have control over certain types of loot that would be in high demand. So parts for aircraft would be scarce and possibly on a different server. He was saying a group of servers would manage what spawns on each server. If there were military vehicles with mounted guns, He would most likely make it scarce. Besides, unless someone is driving around in a tank, its not like that person with that vehicle would be hard to kill. If anything that person would have the biggest target on their back......they wouldn't have the vehicle for very long.
-
No, I obviously don't want them all in dayz, but some variety would be nice, both because just having around five vehicles forever would get old fast, and for more incentive to keep playing in hopes of finding rare equipment. I know exactly what I paid for, you won't see me whining in the forums because the game hasn't met my every whim and demand. I'm not going to cut myself if there is no Humvees. :D However, as said in the above post, it can be quite costly to bring back damaged vehicles, and the u.s. often lends equipment to its pawns the countries it has fought in.
-
Having Mosin Nagant doesn't mean year is 1950. You've seen a humvees wrecks? me not yet (tell me where please). Your assumption is there is some leftover US equipment, mine is there is no "keep the change" with even a single $140000 military automobile if it could be repaired and bring back in ship cargo hold. I believe you want ArmA II or all DayZ mod vehicles in SA, but it will not happen (just like weapons). You are on the wrong game, be prepared to be disapointed.

This Article http://www.relyonhorror.com/latest-news/dean-hall-reveals-dayz-2014-roadmap-at-egx-rezzed/ might interest you: "For starters, the very next update, which is scheduled to drop in between two weeks to the end of April, will be the survival update. In this update, bows and arrows, crossbows, fireplaces, and network optimization will be found. In the short term (Q2), ragdoll physics for players, revamped AI for zombies and animals, 64-bit servers, 6 animal types, persistent objects, and world containers (cupboards, refrigerators) are scheduled. For Q3, Bohemia is looking to bring more players and creatures into online servers. Animal behavior will also range from hostile, passive, and companion. Barricading, basic vehicles (bikes, ATV, motorcycles), mod support (with Steam Workshop), Steam achievements, and persistent growing plants such as edible fruit and vegetables are also planned. Currently the game only has wild berries and inedible pumpkins. In the long term (Q4), the team is aiming to add advanced vehicles (cars, planes, boats), structure creation, faction identification (e.x. bandits), and advanced player trading."

1. Admins don't spawn us anything and we don't have any advantages 2. I wouldn't accuse any one of glitching if I were you since YOUR group was known for wall glitching into bases. Hell, your group members tried wall glitching into our base. 3. The building that we built our base in isn't the only one on the map. I know of at least 2 other locations with the same building. You couldve easily taken over the same building in another place, we just chose to be in cherno. We were up all night constructing, and moving our shit over to the new base. We received no help from any admin. 4. You weren't successful, you just blew up the building and no one died. The stuff in our safes were still untouched. No vehicles were blown up either. It's more like a failed attempt. 5. Tough luck, everyone is fair game and thermal vision vehicles are easy to get. Anyone can get one in a matter of a few hours. 6. Speak for yourself. Players receive help if they request it. 7. The average server pop. has been going up, get your facts straight. Take your shitty trash-talking, glitch-abusing group to another server, thanks for playing -
Server hopping, "matchmaking" and incentives to gear up on a populated server.
AryanBoogeyman replied to hefeweizen's topic in General Discussion
Once persistent storage is implemented this entire argument is moot. No matter the source people will have huge encampments on multiple servers to restock their weapons from. The mod proved this again and again. PermaDeath will not be an issue and the only problem will be the time required to rejoin the firefight in progress. Personally my group had no less than 4-6 starter camps setup near popular spawn points on at least 4 different servers ranging from high traffic to very low specifically for rapid redeployment into battle. Anything from small vehicles and starter weapons to military transport and high grade military weapons were stashed in these locations. Decoy camps were also deployed to reduce the inevitable losses. Further North we had heli camps and large vehicle stashes all over the place on multiple servers to save on losses. My point here is that no matter where you imagine people get the weapons, persistent storage will make a hash of any in game economy. All it takes is time and persistence. P.S. Leave the matchmaker B.S where it belongs.... on consoles. -
I think the best way it could be done is for open competitions for the playerbase to get invloved and submit buildings and areas to expand the actual map. I think this way they could get a larger diversity of buildings they could add to the game including the ones suggested. Star citizen currently does this with ships and as this game will have a very large modding community when its allowed that folding the mods into the game also will be a great idea as it will also encourage high quality mods for the game. Because once vehicles come in espec flying vehicles the map will seem much smaller. Personaly i would love a chernobyl type area where mask would be required and if you stay to long you will start to get sick, but some of the best gear is within the area.

Who are we?:MUC is a relative new clan. The clan has been created in December 2013 and it is containing Deutsch and Dutch people. The clan is containing a few people at the moment and 3 of them are responsible for our server. Our server:Our server has started a few days ago, so we are still working on the server, but we think it's stable enough to make an early acces server. Since we're still an early acces there still could be things that don't work very well. We'll need your help on that side of the server, because we can't find all of those bugs. What do we offer?:Since we're still working on the server features are still getting implemented. The features that are implemented at the moment are:AI Missions (Armored Vehicles, Disabled Convoy, Gold Convoy etc.)Custom Traders (Items, Vehicles etc. still getting worked on)Lift and Tow (currently only Cargo trucks can tow cars, still getting worked on)Snap 'n BuildAutorefuelCustom map (we are still working on it)Events Server information:Map: ChernarusMod: Epoch 1.0.4.2Slots: 22 (we'll update if needed)IP: 5.62.104.112:2302Website: http://www.muc.enjin.comServer host: Admins:[MUC] Darryl[MUC] Alex[MUC] mcjesus

In a survival situation, yes, there are bound to be at least a few people who KoS, though most of them would probably do it either A.) to take someone else's stuff, or B.) to make sure someone else doesn't take their stuff. It only makes sense. However, in the early stages of the DayZ SA, there still isn't very much else for people to do besides kill others, so I'm sure that many people that do it currently do it mainly to keep it interesting, because otherwise all there is to do is run around (literally) and collect stuff, or RP in some way (trying to help others, RPing some sort of character, etc.). I think that, once the game evolves more and there's more to do (hunt, cook, drive vehicles, build camps/structures, etc.), the number of people that KoS will drop, at least a little, because there will be more to keep people occupied, besides shooting the first person they see. As it is, the game can get rather boring rather quickly, so I think we just need to wait. Yes, it will always be human nature to some degree, but when there are other options, it won't be quite as rampant.

Reposting this post again.... The majority of this community is so cowardly and overly competitive that they almost always shoot armed players without even attempting to communicate. "He's armed and he's on the coast; must be a bandit... BAM!" Where is the fun in that? Play arma 3 wasteland. You won't have to deal with all of these bugs and I completed features. More guns. More vehicles. All of the things you beg for on these forums. "I KOS because there aren't enough features in this game to do anything else yet." This game was made for people willing to risk losing everything to engage in heart pounding interactions with potentially violent strangers. This is the only game where potential friend or foe can honestly only be distinguished by their ACTIONS; not by the color of the arrow floating over their head. "I tried being friendly. I got tired of getting killed so I don't even try anymore." This excuse is the worst. So many of you think the only two options are a.) kill or you will undoubtedly be killed. Or, B.) place your life into the hands of a complete stranger and hope that they are like-minded. The truly skilled survivors asses the stranger, place themselves in a superior position should a firefight erupt, and then you attempt to communicate. If you can learn to do this, not only will you increase your chances of survival (should you choose to interact with others), but when you ARE forced to kill someone in self-defense, it will be so much more rewarding KNOWING (not speculating) that they would have gladly done the same to you. Alas, this kind of tactical thinking (it's a fucking survival game for god's sake) is too much to ask for the majority of dayz's current community. Edit: took out drunk ranting at end of original post.

I would like to see a system in place where npcs could grant players hero status, whilst in hero status they could activly group with other players and be given objectives to hunt down and kill bandits who activly kill ungeared or who hunt in packs against solo players. Even to the other extreme of being given hero helper status where they will help people orientate to the game and map. Doing this would give a voucher to buy ammo or limited gear from the npc to denote that they are infact a hero and not a bandit. The npcs could also do some kind of insurance for players as an example, when you die the npc will have in effect claimed 10-20% of your gear when you died and saves it for you, paid with furs, meats and other products we are going to get from the world and could be used as a bartering system. With the introduction of barrackading coming into effect then a set of houses set aside to have these npcs within and even used as safe zones for players to meet up and form groups. I see this being a good idea from the standpoint that what we have now is not what we will have in 12 or 24 months as right now we have spiderman type zombies or the 100 yard punch zombies, as the game gets flushed out we will have better AI'd zoombies, more zombies, wild animals and the encouraged grouping of players to complete objectives such as vehicles and buildings. So as at the minuite we are sustained by heros vs bandits with bambies stuck in the middle just praying they arnt mobbed to an aspect of gameplay where we are beset by the world and enviroment and all that it can throw at us so grouping will be something that we focus more upon. So i agree with the OP on this, but i agree because i can see where the game is going and know that what we have now is not what we shall have in the future. And on a different aspect, the implimentation of npcs and quests such as this wont effect people who want nothing todo with them but will infact encourage a larger playerbase for the game as there are more features that an enlarged playerbase requires. More players = more cash, more cash = more stuff to get in dayz.
