Hello guys, I am 16 years of age. I am very proficient in the skills of marksman, pilot, and combat pilot. My most favored vehicles are the Cessna, the pook(aka bell 47) and the apache.I an however able to fly any air vehicle if needed. I am a great team player and would be delighted to fill any of the roles above. -

What how absurd they are trying to add survival elements to a game being sold as survival horror what is the world coming to isnt survival merely having the most guns??? I think someone bought the wrong game dont fear arma is on sale every other week try it out its an awesome mil sim with more guns than you can poke a stick at( specially with modded guns) I welcome as many survival aspects as possible when the weather is as big an enemy as the zeds and pew pew players... I welcome hunting and bare bones survivval crafting kinda like how i would imagine things would go in a complete and utter breakdown of society and all the luxuries that come with it. With no one making ammo for these guns how long do you think bullets will last when your shooting at the 99% of the population who have turned into zeds ( and in most cases the 1% of humans also ) Thats right let rip full auto your m4 a gun not made in this fictional country sure it would have come with nato forces but how much ammo did they bring how much of it did they use when it all turned to shit.. PvP should always be a part of this game fighting for survival for the dwindling resources but to many of you guys just want to deathmatch to deathmatch and are waiting for bases so you can stock them with ammo guns so when you die you can quickly re arm to deathmatch . For vehicles so you can travel fast to speed your kills how about some of you actually think of how to survive in a survival game rather than how many kills you can get with each life radical thought i know but has none of you noticed there is no K/D score. -
I'd rather they prioritise, in no particular order, these before the very occasional clipping death: Zombies Vehicles Random Character Wipes Desync Vehicles Ladders Loot Respawning Vehicles Hackers Dupers Vehicles That stupid walk like a cripple when faced with a minor gradient thing Also, Vehicles. This is an alpha that is constantly evolving. Expect bugs and you will be pleasantly surprised when you don't get murdered by furniture, gates, mysterious black holes in the map etc.

I used the search function, didn't find anything. If this hasn't been posted, I'm surprised it hasn't yet. I'm going to go ahead and admit, I don't play on full pop servers, usually only 5-15 people servers. The reason? I can't handle stress, or pressure, or making decisions while under stress or pressure! I'm very bad at encounters with people, especially since I don't have a lot of time to make a decision with what to say/how to act. If I think someone is in the same building as me? I freeze up and my heart starts beating veeeeery hard, to the point I can hear and feel the veins in my head throb. My thought process stops, and it's hard for me to decide what to do. I TRIED a full-pop server ONCE, and I nearly had a heart attack because almost immediately start to get chopped up by a guy with an axe. Needless to say, I haven't played on a full-pop server since. Now, finally, onto why I think larger maps would be great (Take note, I think this should only be implemented when they add vehicles). What I envision having a character in DayZ to be like one day, are long journeys across country sides to get to a specific place (i.e city, town, stuff like that), for loot and gear like that. Along the way, you'd hunt, fish, setup camps for the night (Which would be longer, but that would depend on the server anyway), with sleeping bags, and a campfire where you cooked your beans, and maybe had chats with your friends. A good balance of how often player interaction occurred could make this perfect. My inspiration for this comes from pretty much any post apocalyptic movie, where they travel forth into unknown lands. Also, with this, it would be cool for them to add where you could spawn with friends, if they approved, but not in certain areas, only around spawn points. Basically, what I think it would add would be: + A lot more to explore, which would make sense! + Player interaction less often, and much more important + The environment more of a danger, for this would be an issue along your whole "Journey", which would be a plus for me - Potential problem being that it would be more boring? But, there would be stops along the way, some that are better than others, thus attracting more people to them, some less valuable, so that there is less risk, but less loot. EDIT: - I'm not sure, but this might make the game harder to run? I wouldn't know about that Any suggestions? Feel free to comment/criticize, but with reasonable justification If I forgot anything, I'll edit it in!

I don't disagree, my point is that as long as you have multiple spawn locations and they are random, people are going to suicide till they get together. Giving people a timeout for that is a shitty way to curve the behavior. I'm of the opinion that any system in a game that punishes you by not letting you play at all is a pretty lousy approach though. Introductions of other methods to meet up would be better, ie Vehicles. I dunno what you mean by in the past, but since the mod people have always suicided to meet up. -

They barely work and are definitely not ready for the standalone. I ran into quite a few crashes and bugs testing them on a .42 server yesterday. The video that OP referenced is from the Kortal servers. It's a cracked server version of dayz and the cars "function" on .42. In all honesty, we're going to be much happier waiting for vehicles to be done right rather than forcing them into the game. -

When I saw videos of people driving vehicles in the standalone, I wanted to figure out doing it myself so I did just that. You use basic arma tools to unpack the pbo's/bins/mission files, edit them with a text editor, then repack the pbo's etc. This is how you also see dayz mod servers with custom content and scripts on them. I wouldn't call it hacking what so ever. -

Also, the vehicles only work on version .42 as far as driving them is concerned. In .43 they cut out a huge chunk of data in the vehicles_wheeled.pbo that enabled the use of vehicles. They will only spawn as static objects in .43. This method also only works if you are setting up a private lan server using a cracked .28 executable. -

Yeah, not legit. They either play on a cracked/modded SA server, or they loaded Arma2/3 vehicles into DayZ and tweaked around a bit. They're going to redo vehicles completely, so that your car won't blow up because you got stuck on a rock or glitched on a bridge. That and so we can Mad Max em a bit (put some Ural fenders on a Skoda!) -

All he did was port over the vehicles from Arma 3 and the modding community over there. He also just downloaded one of the mods that changes UI and HUD to the one from Standalone. Even though he clearly failed since he left in the some of the Arma 3 UI in the video. xD -

I couldn't remember if it was the brits or not. It's a DLC I wish I had when I played A2, though; the BAF had cooler vehicles. :( And the L115. And the Mk48 Para which had some weird complicated number-name but was pretty cool. -

Personally if they stopped development and just fixed the bugs, I could still have fun with this game. It might even feel like too much with vehicles and bases. I like simple survival, lone wolf for the most part. But that's just me. -

An interesting idea but you can pretend your buds are your family ;) ... Besides once hunting, temperature system, barricading, building, restoring power via generators and constant storage + vehicles are in there will be no "getting bored" :) -

Yes there will be plenty of custom servers set up like you want... but ARMA3 Breaking Point mod is already set up like that. Almost. Spawning in with weapons and vehicles is fun, sure- but is agaist the spirit of what DayZ SA represents. Once it's moddable (say, this time next year, maybe), you'll be able to do what you wan, but til then you'll have to suffer with running everywhere and wishing you had a melee weapon. -

It's a lovely helicopter, but why the hell would there be one in the Chernarussian Air Force? The only vehicles should be relevant to the scene - Mi8 / Mi17s. -

We just started playing on a new server, and we are fresh spawns we are a 4 man team currently, hoping to be much larger in the future so we can get a lot more done in just a day of playing. Some requirements are. Have TS3, or Skype Have experience with DayZ origins 15+ years of age Speak Fluid English Try and be active Some rules we like to follow are, Listen to all call outs, do not run on your own, and try not to afk while we are playing, but if you have to, it is ok we all have to afk at some point of playing. Do not try and steal other peoples gear. If you are told to do something please do it, even if it means you might get killed, its to save the rest of the team, and could get you some better loot. Do not yell, it kills our ears haha. Roles: does not really matter, if you wanna choose one go ahead, we will do every role as we play.Sniper: You are the one person who will have the first sniper, you are to stay back and over watch your squad, and protect us and tell us if there are any players in range and what direction. Looter: You go in and loot as we cover you, must be quick. Ground Infantry: When raiding you push up on the enemies as our sniper covers us. I cant believe no one has suggested it, but here it goes. I would love to see a working freight train. It could be a great vehicle to escort bambis. It would also make a focal point for fighting other than the towns. Could cause a police force type cooperation to happen, as well as a more organized bandit force. You could spawn in and see which faction has control of it. It would make a reason for people to team up. Hero's and bandits alike. I also like the idea of the older vehicles that are already modeled in game too. I just keep thinking how awesome it would be with a functional train carrying a few box cars. -

Show us what you got, get killed or even cry your way out of the server? I personally challenge you units to come and Fight. Server is up but will have more stuff added to it with Custom Bases and Auto Refuel. You'll have to fix your own vehicles though. If you want 15 choppers you'll have to earn it the hard way. Only the skilled dedicated player will do this. Do not need Cry Babies on the server. Come and get us, I don't think you have what it takes. ALL MILSIM AN OTHER UNITS SERVER WILL BE POPULATED WITH OUR UNIT and OTHERS ON APRIL 15th 2014. You are more than welcome to head on there now to start stocking up if need be before people get on. Because once we get on there We're killing all your asses. Good Luck and Let the WARS BEGIN. PS> We also have the Attack Littlebirds with Only Mini Guns on the server, for you pilots who think you can Fly. We post no arguments because we believe people are not blind, but here, just some of them: 1. Loot only spawning on server restarts. 2. Zombies aggro randomly, still die when walking downhill, walk through doors, walls, objects. 3. Lack of any sort of persistent storage or vehicles. 4. Only few firearms availabale. 5. Ladders randomly killing people, people walking through objects/walls. 6. No animals, fireplaces and cooking. And that's just compared to the outdated, forgotten mod. -

How do you think DayZ Standalone is going?

I have mixed emotions. On one side, I can't find in SA what made the mod the best MP experience I ever had. It might be that the map is pretty much the same, or the lack of endgame content like vehicles and tents, or the broken zombie AI. I dunno, but I can't feel it, and right now I feel like it will never reach to that point, at the rate we are getting updates. Something about the playerbase bothers me too, but it might be because of the current state of the game and might improve with time. On the other side, I like how the survival aspect has been expanded. But since release it hasn't been improved too much. So its all just a mather of waiting and see how it goes
