Are the cars fixed? After at least having them in the game for nearly 4 years are they fixed? IF not, then my point is not made. I can't be a bully to a company that WILLFULLY released a completely broken feature to the game, and has not made any VISIBLE strides in correcting said broken feature since FULL release. New players NEED to know how awful vehicles are before they shell out their money to play. Sarcasm is protected speech in the USA. I have no intention to stop. I was told this was the correct format to air my grievance by the forum moderator, so here I am. Feel free to ignore me in the future. -

I can't recall a game where I have seen such realism. The time and effort on display here to include such realistic physics to vehicles is just phenomenal. Any other game development company should just close shop right now, go home, developers should refund their paychecks as NOTHING can compare to THIS masterpiece of computer engineering... -
Hello survivors! We kicked off the new year with the release of Game Update 1.11. While the update might not be packed with new features and content, it did allow us to focus on our backlog of issues and provided us with enough space to prepare this year’s schedule. As mentioned in our previous DayZ in 2020 article, we are committed to supporting DayZ through 2021 by releasing regular game updates, just like we did in 2020. Support will come in the form of new content, features, balancing, and continual bug fixing. This article will outline part of our focus for this year. One thing we’ll continue introducing to the game is new firearms. Unlike previous years, we intend to mix things up more by introducing weapons which weren’t present in the legacy version of DayZ. You can already see evidence of this with the brand new SVAL rifle, which we introduced in the last game update. Another area of focus that’s important for us this year is balancing the damage system. For example, we intend to look at how we can improve melee (mainly against infected), including a more consistent way of landing stealth kills (rewarding players for a stealth approach). We would also like to look into differentiating more individual firearms, as well as increasing the chances of PVP encounters ending in an unconscious state (rather than instant death). Along with our efforts to improve melee with the infected will be a larger focus on Infected AI reactions to their surroundings. This includes balancing existing noise sources and adding new ones (such as light or doors opening). We’d also like to experiment with some new capabilities for the Infected AI. To spice up your adventures, we’ve begun looking into introducing a new type of environmental threat to both of our maps. We intend to improve feedback to players on the state of their character. This could include various states like bleeding, hunger, thirst and more through post-process sounds, effects or particles. Also being considered is further iteration of the in-game respawn menu. We want to focus more on seasonal events, mainly by introducing additional events throughout the year, as well as enriching the events themselves (mostly through new in-game assets). Last, but certainly not least, we will continue to support our creative community (i.e. modders and server owners). Our plan is to release four more game updates this year. And in an effort to breathe fresh air into the official hive, we’ve also decided to incorporate semi-regular wipes of character and server persistence files (bases, vehicles, etc.). We won’t be doing these wipes with every update, but we do want to make sure there’s an ending (and a new beginning) every 3-4 months. We already started with Game Update 1.11 and we expect to do two more this year. While these wipes will always be synchronized with game updates, the reasons are purely balance-related and not of a technical nature. We remain committed to providing backward compatibility between updates, so none of these wipes will be forced on community-run servers. Rest assured that all wipes will always be announced a few weeks ahead of schedule. During that time, we might spice things up a bit on the official hive, like we did with 1.11 and the increased occurrence of helicopter crash sites. They fixed them completely, now the vehicles tremble or jump into the sky like rockets. Following the last server update 2 or 3 days ago, the lag and bug of the cars appeared again, which they had in the past. Why did they have to ruin something that was going well? Amateurs.

I would like to warn you in advance about my bad English. 1. In the game at the moment you can only build a gate, it would be nice if you add the ability to build simple doors. 2. When building the watchtower, it would be nice to remove the hole for the stairs. The opening for the ladder must be built separately. First, a full roof is built (without holes), then a hole for the stairs. This will allow players to build small loot booths. This is better than when players place their bases inside various buildings. 3. At the moment, in the game, it is very easy to load the base with the help of vehicles or any other object that you can climb onto. I propose to add several types of barriers, a large barbed wire, various wooden barriers that should interfere with the placement of vehicles and annexes. 4. Previously, there were HESCOBOX in the game and there were certain problems with them. Instead, I propose adding large sandbag walls to the game, analogous to regular wooden walls for construction. P.s. Write your suggestions for improving the construction.

Couldn’t be more true! How could the game, especially the stamina system, not be balanced as-is, without considering vehicles?!? Whether they belong or not, the ‘difficulty’ assumes they exist! Huge component with major flaws!

Well, here's some news. I read recently from a modder that Vehicles count as projectiles in the engine. So we're riding around in bullets. With the same physics.... Let that soak in when considering how terrible cars perform. -
I have to admit that vehicles are performing much better than in v1.00! I know most of the spots where it lags a bit from loot and inventory interaction proximity, and crashing isn’t much of an issue. With consistency, I can get about two weeks (real-time) out of a vehicle before some style of brutal wreck because I’m speeding or even more often, a theft. The ONLY time driving has been a negative experience for me is when the fireworks go off. Bullet/projectile physics can freeze the screen for up to 10 seconds at its very worst in my experience. (Solid speed interwebs.) Leads to death 60% of the time, every time. Frame rate drop can be further reduced as more surfaces are involved with the bullets; most notably in cities. Don’t get me wrong though, I do enjoy my time on the beach. There is a sense of accomplishment that accompanies surviving a night spawn as a fresh hatchling on a first person server. Seeing that sunrise is a beautiful thing. Once, a random garden was responsible for my survival. Conclusion: Cars are things, which means they don’t matter. In my experience DayZ has always been about the different interactions with other survivors. Almost every situation is different because of the open-ended sandbox design. Don’t go bitching about materialistic goods while the biological-chemical apocalypse is in a full upswing. Everything is going to shit out here!

The reason I have stopped playing this game as many of us have, is due to the changes making it more and more complex to play especially on console. Zombies are near impossible to run away from if alerted, and now with the introduction of infected wounds from rags makes it nearly impossible to play the game without dying from something or other. This is the dilemma of realistic gameplay, is that when things become more and more similar to real life, they become very boring and dull to play. But odd as infected wounds are extremely easy to treat in real life unless it you don't cut the infection off or burn it. And most small infections don't even kill so I fail to see any reason why this was added. People have been asking for a long time to make the game easier, not very easy but easier to play. Another thing I have noticed is the push to talk. As you cannot assign controls, it is hard to have a conversation with people in the game whilst doing basic tasks. And the vehicles. There needs to be a lot more vehicles and parts to be somewhat easier to access. This is why many people are modding the game. If you really support modding in various servers, add in features to make this easier and the community would greatly appreciate this as it will allow amazing new ideas and concepts to excel the game forward. I think if you want a super realistic gameplay, it should be added in another gamemode such as "hardcore" or "realistic". This would also encourage more new players to the game and increase the success of the game. Thanks if you actually read this lol.

😆 and it happened with the car standing still... If that gate opened by some remote chance, then it would be even worse. It's another problem with physics - how doors work. Opening/Closing animations are absolute - they will move anything in their way and if it can't be moved, then the door will pass through obstacle - be it players, npcs or vehicles. There is a slight difference though... Vehicles are usually destroyed in the process.

what do u mean with "removed legs"? 😕 stones, fruits, mushrooms spawn nearby players. so that shouldnt be an issue. for example if u need stones to craft a knife - check the dirtpaths/railroads - no stones? loot the nearby buildings and check again - plenty spawned meanwhile. vehicles work fine for me; but im not playing on official servers. those might have a too high ping limit - or whatever reason. deadside is very very different to dayz - might as well go play fortnite^^

Just saw all of your replies, thank you all. Didn't get notified for some reason. Anyway, it basically sounds the same as before, except rocks are harder to find, in order to make a knife. Plus it seems like the negative effects are all accelerated. Disappointing that they removed broken legs. Not surprised in the slightest that the vehicles are still broken. Are they still space ships? That's probably the biggest black eye for this new engine, complete joke. Basically, it just sounds like all they did to make it more "extreme" was make everything more tedious. Might just go back to Deadside, but I can't get over how bad games look with the Unreal Engine. DayZ has always looked amazing.

It's not new, and getting them fixed should be a much higher priority. That is the argument. The devs say they know, and have even said we tried, but the game was released with broken vehicles. I want new players or potential new players to know that aside from the fact the game is STILL a running simulator they should not depend on vehicles, and should really consider buying a half-finished game. And yes, I consider Vehicles so necessary in this game that in their current state, it's half finished. Knowing what I know now about how the game was developed and the fact that it's still got major bugs and glitches, I wouldn't buy it. And don't get me wrong, I love this game. I own two accounts on PC plus bought it for my son on Xbox. I just want a playable game with as few bugs and glitches as popssible. Which should have been the goal before releasing, but that fat console paycheck couldn't wait and this is what BI has to show for it. A great IP with "less than desired" implementation. That's unacceptable to me. I have thousand of hours in this game, I pretty much play it exclusively but I just want it to work and I want others to know EXACTLY how this game behaves in it's current state. I intend to keep this issue pushed on this forum EVERY DAY until it's fixed. -

If you play on populated vanilla servers, it can take hours to find all the necessary components to get a vehicle working. Cars are most definitely a death sentence in the Vanilla game on populated servers. I have not played on a single populated Vanilla server that had working vehicles consistent... not one. I don't have exact stats but I would say that at least 1/3 of my deaths in DayZ have been due to cars glitching. PC Players have technical advantages with Keyboard and mouse and are much faster at reactions in PvP vs Console. I don't play on low pop servers, what's the point, might as well just spin up your own and play. Yeah, cars work wonderful if no one is playing on the server creating bases and such... again, what's the point? -

So basically you are saying playing DayZ on Console is like going to the Smithsonian Museum. Xbox and Playstation are preserving history so to speak. That's really sad. Most companies sweat about having their games perform the absolute best on multiple platforms. Not BI. They are mavericks... they now release games that are in no way shape or form capable of playing at decent frame rates continuously on ANY platform, and, of course, not to mention the bugs and broken major systems left in the game. They don't even bother patching those major systems two years after release. Anybody want to guess what Arma 4 or whatever the next game is going to be like? You think the Vehicles will work better in their next game? Not ONLY THAT!
