  1. Please tell me you guys that replied... that you are trolling him? Please tell me this is so... Because if you actually look at the video, you can see very clearly that the boat is out of FUEL!!! Fuel people... most vehicles need it. Lol. Peace.
  2. Throughout the last week or so i've come across 2 vehicles, placed 1 tent and seen people take multiple shots with one hit kill weapons and just alt+f4 like they were never hit. As for the vehicles me and my friend came across a URAL truck and managed to kill the driver and take it, after hiding it the server crashed for an hour or so and when i came back on it had vanished. Considering it was hidden in the woods far west from petrovka i find it hard to believe someone happened to stumble across it within the short period i wasn't on. This also happened later with an atv we were fixing up, fixed it up, hid it elsewhere along the northern forests and once again it once gone within the hour. After leaving the server, i came across another atv that needed fixing up, so i sent up a tent even further north than i did with the URAL placed most of my equipment in and headed south-east for the factory (I saved the tent by the way). After returning with the vehicle parts, both the atv had gone aswell as my tent, no sign of it what so ever. What i'm trying to say is, is there some sort of way that players can gain access to whatever so that they are aware of where and when a tent is placed or where vehicles are? Are there dodgy admins about? Or do some people have nothing better to do than stroll the very north of the map and server hop when they don't find anything just to do it again? Don't put any of this 'Stop crying and get on with it' responses because having this happen to you multiple times and being unable to even hold on to equipment and vehicles due to someone coming across an area that has no reason to be checked is just frustrating.

    what exactly is end game in dayz?

    Endgame in DayZ? have atleast 50 tents full of weapons and equipment + all the vehicles that spawn on the server hoarded in a corner of the map... Atleast that's what everybody is trying to do haha
  4. I've been patrolling around the map borders for the last 3 days riding on my ATV having a GPS and Map handy, covering most of the Northern and Nort East forests. Except the occasional tents, ATVs and Red UAZ, I failed to find any significant high tier vehicle whatsoever. This tends to make me believe that people still hoard the vehicles outside of the map boundaries.
  5. It must have gotten stolen or despawned due to a bug, then. I've had a camp very near the edge of the map for weeks now and haven't lost any vehicles from it. Anything within boundaries isn't supposed to despawn unless it isn't used for a week.

    CryEngine 3 - Possible?

    So much want... Given the videos I do like the vehicles physics and the seasons and the crysis engine (NOT A DEVELOPER/COMPUTER GENIUS HERE) generally has been reliable. However Arma's engine seems to work well enough, I've encountered almost zero problems, except for like 4 but those have been on occasion. Also, I doubt the load time for something like this would be as fast as it is currently and working the seasons and physics constantly would probably not agree with servers. Along with that, DayZ is a MOD of Arma 2, I doubt you can just up and go switch the engine overnight. If DayZ became a standalone then by all means use the damn engine, hell, I wish I could see this in Arma 3. You've earned my beans.

    DayZ roadblocks, why?

    Roadblocks must have been setup by the military or appointed militia to stop and search vehicles fleeing from the three high density, high infection risk areas on the coast as they sought sanctuary inland and escape via plane from the two airfields. It was part of the infection quarantine, searching vehicles for infected civillians. The infected overran these areas, leaving the roadblocks where we found them.

    DayZ roadblocks, why?

    So i hear roadblocks are server side, why are the mass road blocks still enabled for Dayz? In a zombie apocalypse you're not going to spend time building a completely useless Somalian roadblock for any reason but however the burnt out car/truck/van wrecks are totally plausible. Suggest is.. Remove the road clutter leaving/adding a few more destroyed vehicles.

    I have noticed that sometimes when server is updated etc/ restarted your vehicles and tents may disappear until next server restart. Happened 2 times to me :)

    So I'm at camp and I'm moving shit around between vehicles. I take both my two L58A2 AWS's [one as primary, one in backpack] and I'm about to put them in the URAL when the game kicks me off the server... So I hop back on and.... SURPRISE... DUNN DUNN DUNNN. They're gone :D! Luckily we have two more. MORALE OF THE STORY: Never love the AWS Edit: I AM SO FUCKING PISSED RIGHT NOW

    using a mic with DayZ

    Alt-f4'ing gives you a massive advantage too, server hopping give you a advantage, reloging to refill magazines gave you a great advantage, hacking gives you a great advantage, running the incorrect Dayz files gives you a advantage, hoarding vehicles outside the map gave you a massive advantage, playing on the lowest possible graphics settings gives you an advantage. BUUUUUUHHHHTTT, doesn't mean I can recommend doing it (any of it). And to anyone thinking about the "well everyone else is doing it"...did your mother not teach you, that just because everyone else is jumping off a bridge, doesn't mean you should do it too. Also I would like to make it clear, that I do not mind VoIP in any other game, but in DayZ it just feels wrong. But still, it is all personal preference... I suppose.

    CryEngine 3 - Possible?

    Haha CE3 can hide from this. More stances, freelook controls, realistic balistics, vehicles run on GASOLINE not air. Not to mention the big 300 sqkm map. Sure CE3 looks good, its fine for some quick arcade fps fun. Also crysis 1 or far cry maps are NOT as big as chernarus. Sure if you put it all together but you can't have it all at once.

    Fort Friendly - Social Experiment

    Yo Yo, Good to see survivors joining forces, some form of signal(green smoke/red smoke) when approaching the fort could be a means of not getting yourself shot, although these things are not always at hand to use. I'll be on tonight to try and lend a hand. Also possibly setting up small scavenger parties to go out and find vehicles/ parts could be something maybe to look into. Lets make this a fully functioning safe haven. See you out there! D-Etnie
  14. I would be willing to try most everything. The only things I don't really like are; -Infection in cities, I think this is just uneeded. You could simply have a chance of catching the Flu after being hit by a Zombie rather than from just being in a certain area. -Antibiotics should have a chance to spawn in residential areas. It would be a much smaller chance than a hospital but would still make sense. They could also spawn in military medical areas. -Setting Bones is a bit to much but I like the idea of a Splint. Legs and Arms can break, if your legs break you can't Walk/Jog/Sprint but taking morphine allows you to Walk/Jog on it for a short period of time. If your arm is broken you can't use your primary weapon, using morphine allows you to do so for a short time. You would need another player to apply a splint to you. -There shouldn't be any time needed for the healing or curing sickness, applying the split should be instant. Making items more rare would add the need for co-op while not causing annoyances of not being able to really play for a full day. You would either have to get someone to give you items or get them to go get the things you need if you didn't have any. -Zombies spawning naturally in the wilderness should be extremely rare. If a player shoots a gun and zombies hear it they should go to where it came from then just wander around at that location. This could cause zombies to slowly move out of populated areas just from players shooting zombies on the edge/outside of town and cities. Player Vs Player combat outside the city could also draw them out. If zombies see a vehicles they should try and chase it until it is out of sight. So if a helicopter flies over a city tons of zombies would chase it out of town for a ways before losing interest. Other than that I really like the ideas. I would be willing to try it, I would enjoy the game being more realistic and have less pointless killing. I would also add. -All items should spawn far less often, I kinda hate that currently I'm not even trying to survive anymore. I always find food and soda, I really don't ever have to use my canteen and I only hunt animals to refill my blood. I found a URAL with like 10 - 15 weapons, a plethora of ammo and supplies, sure this was probably like winning the lottery but still, it happened 3 days into my DayZ career. Please do the world a favor, go to the nearest kitchen, open the cupboard under the sink and drink everything you find.

    All i see is hackers. You cant go on a populated server w/o having jets napalm you or crazy vehicles spawn. Got turned into a rabbit once. True story
  16. I was sitting in my first aid class today, and came to a great suggestion for DayZ. The developers should consider adding a crashed ambulance emergency vehicle, at random towns inland. I dont mean that the vehicles should be holding a bastion of medical supplies, only a very small amount of supplies. But this also means that it prolongs players from the inland returning to the shoreline cities to restock and resupply. What are your thoughts on this idea anyone?

    4 hackers on our server in 3 days...

    Whats worse is that serveradmins cant see names on the ppl doing this if they dont happed to kill "it". We are having big trouble on our server with invis hackers teleporting to vehicles and drive away with them.
  18. we had 3 massive camps raided last night be 3 people. and even though we shot 2 of them they managed to get back from the coast and continue raiding us within minutes... all our vehicles went. and 2 of them were AMAZINGLY well hidden away from camp I call B/s

    IDEAS FOR A BETTER DAYZ!!!

    overquoting is intentionalfor easier navigation Not crucial for now, but I'd be glad to see this feature, espacially if it will be visual too. No sir, not little more diversity. We need a scary freaking lots of diversity and randomness here. We need very big system to build character appearance so that there will be almost no chance to meet two character alike. That will be totally awesome. But knowing the amount of work it will require, knowing how DayZ is developed, I don't think it's realistic to wait for this feature in the next year or two :( Yes, this is willbe the most outstanding feature! Revolutionary. I really hope it will be in DayZ. Isung those gigantic tents to store loot. Dammit, rediculous. In real life you just wrap you stuff in a bag and put it under a log. C'mon, we need at least shovel with a pit to store loot. Defifnitely for it. This feature is about the game engine. Arma2 is not having it. But VBS (which is the base of Arma2) has it already. I can find a video of a soldier blon on mine with his leg flying away if you need. Zombie animations and speed are planned to be revized and optimized. Confirmed. Not sure of slowing them down for their bigger number. But they'll get more "realistic". See 5) It's a matter of time for dev to fix it. But I'm afraid it won't be dealt with until major serve\login\hacking isssues are addressed. It's coming in I guess in half a year from now at best. This is the server difficulty tweaks, but they are not aalowed by DayZ. It only showes the highest arc point of your throw trajectory, not the place where it will precisely land. You can't guess it in real life as well, do you? Minor issue. May be in long term development such subtleties will be added. This idea is spaammed countlessly around the forums. Dev are aware and taking measures. But not unitl ... see 7) for ETA. I don't think Rocket will add thermal imaging in the game. It's too combat\military. But who knows. Very interesitng idea. I'd vote for that. Good point. The social and grouping features are promised to come with standalone DayZ game at the end of the year. They are very numerous if you look more attentively. But most of them are ruined beyond repair. In a postapocalyptic scenario without proper engineering\factory infrastructure you cant seriously think that vahicles will survive at all. As far as crisi continues, vehicles will extinct. Hmm.. duplicate. See 3) YEAH! I can build a deadly trap with a few branches and a rope. It will be triggered when someone walks on the rope and be peirced with sharpened branches. There are plenty of recipies of them on the internet, where you can build one using only your rope and a knife.

    Vehicles do not spawn-Bug?

    The problem is the maps documenting the vehicle spawn locations ! All in All with the removal of helicopters at the moment there isnt a massive amount of vehicles to find considering the typical server hold 50 odd people. We all know where to look for the vehicles just like you did !. If you have a bunch of regulars on your server (clan, guild W/e) it's pretty much a given that they have a majority of the vehicles held in alternate locations. Here's hoping we get more vehicles in more random locations soon™ keep looking and you will fine one :/
  22. Vehicles only respawn if they are destroyed, so in order to find a new vehicle, you would have to find the camps of the servers, destroy all the hoarded cars there, and then they will respawn after 7 days (no idea if that number is true, just read that somewhere)
  23. First off I would like to say that I've tried looking in the dayZ wiki and such but couldn't find confirmation on this but here goes... What are the stats for the V3S Civillian truck. Are they the same as the URAL? To be more specific I'm talking about this vehicle - http://dayzwiki.com/...le=V3S_Civilian Anyone able to confirm the stats on this vehicle would be a great help, and while we're at it, if you know the stats of any other vehicles that are unconfirmed on the wiki, let it be known here! TL;DR V3S Civillian truck storage stats? Cheerz, Zen

    what exactly is end game in dayz?

    What was the endgame for this film? There isn't one, sure the film has an ending (which I won't spoil, but I assume anyone that plays this mod has seen this film which is pretty much dayZ without the zeds). The goal is to simply survive, well - as it stands that is the goal. Sure, there are things that you have not yet experienced, such as vehicles. but at the end of the day, with it being a sandbox scenario you make of it what you want. For some it is just a personal challenge to survive for as long as possible, for others they enjoy the chase, finding the loot, others simply just like to sit out in the woods with camp fires. I'm up for the being some new ultra rare items, what they would be I'm not too sure but something that when you find it, you feel like you are that little bit more unique compared to everyone else, maybe it could be attire based, maybe it could be a kevlar vest, something that adds a function that makes you that bit harder to kill. Hell. Maybe there is an antidote for the infected out there, somewhere... and you need to find it. Maybe it could be something as simple as the perfect weapon to take out zombies. I don't know exactly, but I wouldn't expect there to be a genuine 'endgame', ever. Perhaps stand-a-lone will introduce some that some will see as the endgame, but in an open world environment such as this, you can't add an end to someone's character because not everyone wants that. When I played Fallout : New Vegas, I exhausted the main quest and didn't spend any time doing side quests, when I finished the main quest I felt like the game has over so I didn't bother playing it anymore. If you add an endgame, people will achieve it then move on to a new game - but a game with potentially unlimited replay value will last for ever. I play CS:S mainly, that is where my online gaming stems from since I was 11 years old. I still play CS to this day, 11 years on. Sure, I've had been off it for alot of time too, but it still has my attention, that is partly because I still feel like I haven't reached my full potential, but also because there is no end game - Well, there is that is to be in a top team and win a large LAN event, but that's not an endgame, that's an accomplishment and I probably will never experience that because I fall just short of the required level of skill to achieve it. The point is, not all games need to have an endgame, especially not multi-player games.
