9 day survivor lost to hacker. I was running along the north western perimeter looking for camps and vehicles when suddenly someone took a shot at me. I could not hear where the shot came from so I tried to run for the nearest row of trees. Next thing I know, large explosions are erupting from the treeline I am running towards, and the first thing I thought was, "Satchel charges", (now I believe this to be artillery), so I still think I am in a legit PvP run for my life and don't Alt-F4. Now my assailant starts firing with a different gun and I am shot dead. Heart pounding and now beginning to get the slight inkling that I may have just ran into a hacker, I respawn near Cherno. I run in the general direction of my first possible loot location when I am suddenly teleported to the wilderness up north with a large group of other new spawns mostly barehanded, some with hatchets. People are generally bewildered running around yelling. Suddenly cows parachute down from the sky. And then what I believe was a serious of bombs or nukes went off. After aborting and switching servers I spawned in the wilderness bleeding knocked out and with legs broken. Needless to say I respawned when I could. I dont feel I have it in me to play more right now. I might fire it up in an hour or two.... The only consolation I take from this is a full reset of my kill count now that ammo limits are now in place. From now on, the kill count will mean more. Edit: I found a low pop server and gathered some basics and headed to the NE Airstrip After clearing the control tower, I found what I would describe as a "survivor tent" pitched directly in front of the first hangar. Inside was mostly lower tier weapons, but the remington was better than the crossbow I had. Also inside that tent, to my surprise, was a GPS! Which had not found up until now. The latest patch seems to run very well for me too, btw.

Stupid argument. Same shit as "it's an alpha". I don't need to program a mod by myself to complain about another and saying rocket is incompetent in programming a mod for a community which is that big. We patched back to 1.7.2.4. There at leat the tents and vehicles are saving again. But paying 100 Euro for servers and getting crap patches all the time, which fuck up the game more and more is a pain the ass. 1.7.2.4 is the most stable build I think. Only the graphical glitches are a mess. But let me see, 1725 has them too. So, why don't roll back to 1.7.2.4 fix bugs which are important and then adding features? Who needed the bandit skin? tbh it's useless. It brings more bugs like losing your backpack and such things. That's the reason why I don't understand, the devs adding more and more features instead of fixing important things.

Since patch 1.7.2.5 I've never seen or heard any kind of vehicle. We checked around 50+ vehicle spawn points over the last few days. Seems they all have disappeared magically. We didn't have any problems finding vehicles prior to 1.7.2.5 though...

So that's why vehicle saves are borked. Servers no longer save the data and the hive does (like for players). LOL that's one way to stop admin domination of a servers vehicles I guess :D

Ok but in the last patch it was a pain in the ass to find a vehicle, Hacked or not I managed to find only 2 vehicles while I played DayZ 1.7.2.3-1.7.2.4 and now suddenly I fount this ^^^ wired right???

That's not the point! The point is that the Developer just think about new features and how to expand the game. My opinion is that DayZ is a fucking nice game and it just brings a lot of fun! But when I see that this Developers just bring new features instead of fixing this bugs which wouldnt be such a big worrk cause for example spanwing at the coast cant be such a heavy bug. Fixing a bug would cost less time than programing a new feature! I already had a lot of fun in DayZ but when i see bugs like spawing at the coast or vehicles which respawn i rage and think that the next game i buy will be WarZ! Yes it's an Alpha and how works a Alpha? You release an Alpha and let the people report the bugs they get! Next step is fixing these bugs, not bringing new features! An Alpha should be so large. An Alpha get released to show the Developer what doesn't work and what they could do better! DayZ dont work like an Alpha! It works like an already released game and that made me sad!

There is a tool that admins can use that shows the locations of vehicles. Its not in real time though. I've only used it once because we had hackers on our server take every vehicle on the map and put them as far north as possible. Most likely you lost your vehicle to hackers since they can see vehicles in real time or just teleport directly to them.

Admins can't see any thing in new patch also there is a BUg with this patch that tent's / Vehicles are not saving so every time server resets they go back to were u found them even if u save

Wasn't there an issue with the latest patch that made it so that all spawns were glitched including players who now randomly will spawn on the coast even if they logged in a different location? Could apply to vehicles as well since they seem to only be saved before the last patch and it would explain why the loot you took isn't gone.

Bandit skins last between lives. There are more vehicles on the map because hackers spawn them in, use them and leave them. They don't go until they are destroyed.

So far I've tried the hatchback, pick-up, atv, bicycle, and dirt bike. Bicycle is my favorite - quiet, fast, doesnt use fuel, repairs itself, and with a little practice on the controls you can gun through forests at full speed. I've got a dirt bike with red rims and flames on the fueltank which would be a close second, albiet for the badass factor. Also from the little experience I have, it seems like the bicycle and motorbike wheels have a smaller hitbox (maybe the tyre?) than the 4+ wheel vehicles.

I just wonder why my tents remain untouched. After all, they are filled with the gear I stole out of their vehicles.

then why would he have tents and vehicles in the mod? dumbass

Hey, not sure if its fixed yet or if you figured this out, but I downgraded back to 1.7.2.4 and hive 0.7.2 and all the vehicles and tents work again.

I knew vehicles didn't work but I just logged out while having bloodbag, morphine and epi-pen injector in a tent lol

The admins i know told me they can't see vehicles, but they can watch your movements (via a map tool). Hackers can see your vehicles. Helicopters see them really easily.

Fuck your arguments it's an alpha it's alpha. That's fuckin bullshit. Rocket had a great idea but he's not able to manage a big community like this and he's incompetent in programming such a big thing. The fact is, they say we are only allowed to pay for the server, we can't even access logs anymore and can't see whos hacking or not. In every game there is admin abuse, if you want or not, you can't take admin rights away to prevent this. I was banned on many BF servers, because they said I was hacking. We pay for the servers and the community is growing, so we are in that position to get a service or even answers. With every fix there are new bugs, and instead of fixing bugs, they prefer to add more features. that's so sad. We pay for servers, we can't use anymore and that's a no go. First the tents did not work, then they worked, now they don't work anymore. Vehicles also. It's a mess. They said, they would have to manually spawn vehicles on servers with an id over 8000 and instead of giving us vehicles, they add features nobody needs, like disabling the respawn button, which brings the new gameplay feature of running to zombies and let them kill you. great. and saying it's an excuse for us duping items. LoL... We are 20 members and we have about 6 weapons of every weapon in the game. we don't need to dupe and we don't allow duping in our clan. so stfu with sentences like this bullshit.

Admins can see vehicles. Yup. What a nice game, where every admin can legaly cheat.

This is an issue with 1.7.2.5, we have the problem of tents not saving and vehicles being reset on server restart and I know many other servers do too.

It is legitimately an exploit and a bannable offense, but the dev team doesn't do bans. It's up to the server admins to police their own servers. Send proof to the admin and it will (should) be taken care of in a just (hopefully) manner. Most server admins cheat just as badly, if not worse by hoarding vehicles and shit, so good luck.

Hello, i have been playing Dayz for about a week now.,..but for some reason when i log onto my home server...i will get maybe...2 seconds per frame :P. I'm not sure if this is the server's fault, but if i hop servers, the lag clears right up and im fine. However this is very frustrating considering my tents, and all 5 of my vehicles are on my home server. Anyone got a fix for this or can tell me what im doing wrong? Thanks!

ok check this out. i think i figured out the problem, tents for me at least only save the items i put in on my FIRST save. any items i add after that wont save and will disappear. at every server restart the contents from the first save will all be there. im pretty sure same with vehicles. i also found a temp fix for adding stuff. what you need to do is throw a couple tents[at least one] inside the tent you freshly put down. anytime you get new gear that u want in your tent you have to make a new tent. ALSO if all of your tents are disappearing and you havent died, try waiting for a server restart or 2 and they WILL still be there. happened to me a couple times tents always end up back so if youve moved camps or tents check your old tent locations they might still be there. hope this helped.

How do you know that the people you mentioned are using spawned vehicles and weapons? They could just be people like you who just happened upon the gear lying around.

Yeah, so me and a buddy of mine were at our tent in the middle of nowhere in a low populated server. Somehow a helicopter finds exactly where our tent is and guns me down. Friend survived only to just fall down dead for no reason. On the way back to get our bodies we've run into multiple vehicles (Tons of crashed buses, ATVs everywhere, etc). Also on the road up to our bodies I found 6-7 MG ammo belts and a few sets of civilian clothing on the ground. Found about 15 cows all spawned in one place, bodies with nonlegit weapons, spawned boats/helis. All of this done near Elektro Jasmine, Ackbar, xXphycoCrazy are 3 that I have seen either with spawned items or in spawned vehicles. Cant upload any pics cause my files are too big, but im sure if you looked in the server logs or something you will see. As for time, 4am GMT +12 hours and was still happening when this post was made. Was having such a good time playing this wonderful game as well.
