This seems to be a bit of a "arcadey" feature if you ask me. DayZ is going for more of a realism style. In good time you and your friends will learn the map like the back of your hand.

I would always advice not using Party chat.. One because its currently broken when switching between game and part chat and 2 as @wh1skey_ said its unrealistic.. Get a few radios between you and your buddies and get yourselves on a private channel and just prey no one finds out which one you are on. I hope they disable party chat for DayZ...

Hi @James Sherlock Make sure you are connecting to your nearest server. I cant remember off the top of my head where the servers are located without looking at the list but this will help. Make sure things are not being downloaded whilst laying this will swallow up your bandwidth cause issues. AJ

Hey @Mystery Rash Try clearing your MAC address in network settings on your console. This has resolved a few connection issues previously not sure it will work for this. Let me know how you get on. AJ

Hey @HRDFX The codes are no longer valid.. The codes that were given out were for the Closed Game preview. The game has now released to the public on Game Preview and can be purchased on the Xbox Store AJ

Hey @BossBullet I can imagine how frustrating this is.. What console are you playing on.. Also give clearing you system cache and MAC address ago and let me know how you get on. Clearing Cache Unlike Xbox 360, the Xbox One does not have a menu option to clear cache on the console. Instead, follow these steps to clear cache on an Xbox One: Turn off your Xbox One. Once the indicator lights on the front of the Xbox One and the console's power brick are off, unplug the power brick from the back of your console. Wait at least 30 seconds. Plug the power brick back into your Xbox One and turn it on. Clear MAC address Goto Settings Network > Network Settings Advanced Settings Alternet MAC Address Clear Restart Console AJ

When i was first learning the map i found the best way to do it was to look at roads and jumctions then look for something similar on the map.. Map navigation can be difficult if you havnt done it before but easily learnt.. The blue road signs in game are in Russian correct.. I cant remember what the IZurvive map provides haven't used it in a while always seemed the most outdated, but if you go on to http://www.dayztv.com/standalone/dayz-chernarus-plus-map/ you get the English version and the Russian version to you can actually match them up... Hey @Nano Ninja Unfortunately at the moment this feature isn't in the game at the moment... However there are plenty of wells around to keep you alive i cant say i've had an issue with dying of hydration in a long time.. Part of learning the map and game i guess I would recommend searching for a interactive map online which will help you.... PS. I'm not trying to be blunt, just trying to help :) AJ

The dehydration and starvation rates are questionable i guess.. However the way i look at it is.. the Devs don't want you to just run straight to NWAF or Tisy get fully geared in 10-15 minutes.. i mean how boring would that be.. I personally like the struggle to survive sometimes.. If you really want to get off the coast the fastest way possible i would recommend either learning where the wells are or checking a map.. I'm guessing you haven't played 0.63 Experimental/Stress Test on PC? There are currently 2 version of DayZ on PC.. 0.62 (Stable) and 0.63 (Experimental/Stress Test) 0.63 is the same build as xbox but with less items.. It is a different team working on the xbox version. the difference is that the Xbox team have managed to get things in the game before PC.. thats all.. 0.62 has all these things, ghillie suits, cars, tents etc.. 0.63 is Beta.. They were not happy with how they worked so they are reworking them for beta/release.. Hopefully that makes a bit more sense.. AJ

Persistence is when you can drop an item on the floor and it will stay there, even after a server restart it will still be there.. On PC with persistence turned on when the server restarts the only loot that re-spawns is something that has been taken. Currently on Xbox there is no persistence if you drop an item it has a life span and then it de-spawns or when the server restarts it will de-spawn and new loot appears.
