Notification of item dropped from your hands
gesundheitk replied to gesundheitk's topic in Suggestions
Whoops, xD haha. I remember one of those being .380. -
Let's face it, sometimes all of your pockets are full. However, you can still hold it in your hands... the only problem is if you're not paying too much attention, you will inevitably drop it. Unfortunately, while we're scouting out for other players or sorting through loot/supplies quickly, it happens that an item is suddenly lost from your fingers you swore was there a second ago! A notification such as "You have dropped (item name) from your hands" in your sidebar would be a really neat addition since a lot of time, I find my pockets to be full and a slight bit of inattention leaves to the loss of a brass knuckle or a sewing kit; a piece of invaluable equipment that would be overlooked otherwise. Let me know what you think. Here is my absolutely amazing totally not photoshopped picture of what I'm talking about.

Has anyone found a machete yet? If so, can they show some pictures? -

What do you think of fresh spawns being able to punch?
gesundheitk replied to Chungmugong's topic in General Discussion
I read the poll wrong, and accidentally chose 'Yes'... oops. I think that punching is good. I mean, what stops someone in real life from punching you out and taking your gun if you get close enough. Maybe an option to block, like with the current melee weapons, but with the M4/rifles? -
I would have been offended too if I holstered my weapon and the guy thought he would try to turn the tables by pulling out his own weapon.

Why does everyone I run into kill me?
gesundheitk replied to capt. beefsteak's topic in New Player Discussion
I found the best way to approach someone is by catching them off-guard. Do not EVER approach a group unless you are in a group yourself and outnumber them, along with easy shots if necessary. Humans are known to be much more stupid in packs; maybe it's an evolutionary adaptation, I don't know. If you are ever caught in a situation where you are told to freeze and put your hands up, do not talk over the voice and comply with what they say. I found it easiest to not speak so they don't try to manipulate and empower you. If they make an attempt to feed you something, do not accept it. Try to see if they want blood, and use that to your advantage. At the moment, you can't take blood from a dead body. -
Those are some pretty big numbers... I don't necessarily believe you... That is, unless you are in your late 50's, then I could believe you.

Tips on Surviving in Standalone?
gesundheitk replied to The Aquatic Land Walrus's topic in New Player Discussion
- Do not go into houses with open doors. It generally means the place is already looted (this doesn't count for large buildings i.e. school buildings) - Drink at the well until you're no longer thirsty, then 6 times more. That's usually what I do. - Try to avoid GI Joes (men in camouflage and gas masks) as odds are they've reached "end-alpher" and are just looking to kill people. - Always survey a large town before heading in. Smaller towns, you can generally get away with, but I've met people there too. - DO NOT RUN INTO MILITARY BUILDINGS. Take your time checking the corners. I don't remember how many times I've ran into Green MTN and got a face full of lead from some clan on TS. - Do not sprint the entire time. Jogging may get you there slower, but your hunger, thirst, and tired bar will thank you later. - Be sure to take the time to sit (yes, sit. F3.) and eat/drink to make sure you don't die of dehydration or starvation. - If you have no bandages, you can always tear your shirt apart and use that. It has saved me countless times before. - Don't let anyone force drink/feed you anything. It could be something toxic such as Alcohol or disinfectant spray I have more, but too many will make for a bad read. Good luck, my friend. Hope to see you in Cherno. -
You seem to have a really good framerate; what's your specs? I found it to be the generic DayZ shootout haha

What's the current situation with blood?
gesundheitk replied to DannyFilming's topic in New Player Discussion
To get rid of the blurry screen, disable postprocessing effects. At least that's how it worked in the mod. Blood generally regenerates when you see the "healthy" indicator in your inventory. If you don't see it, then odds are it is not regenerating or at a very slow rate. To do a blood transfusion you need: 1. Another player 2. A full blood bag (with your type of blood) 3. an IV Start Kit You will need to take the IV kit and the blood bag and craft them together to make the Bloodbag IV. Your friend then sticks a tube in you and puts the blood in there. The wrong type of transfused blood would cause it to clump in your blood stream, blocking capillaries and leading to death. Hope I helped. E - you can find out your blood type by taking a Blood Testing Kit and using it on yourself and your donator. Be very wary. -
MY HOMEH!! Why don't you ever show voice? :( Do you use musty? We better play some time.
