new maps.

I think having new maps would be cool, let me be clear tho I am talking about maps of chern not new environments to play in..

I was thinking they could show different things in varied detail.

Starter Map :: the survivor spawns with a starter map, looks like a pencil drawn effor on the back of some dirty old paper, would show rough location of cities and towns and the main large roads.

Normal Map :: the one we have now.

Loot Map :: a map showing where loot spawns, like a static dayzdb with colored dots for residential and industrial loot spawn points, would show car or vehicle sighting locations where cars might spawn..

Military Map :: map that shows all mill spawn points, along with helicopter sightings, which would mark the possible locations of heli crash sites.

Master Map : shows it all.

I agree in a way.

The majority of maps found could be touristy maps, showing the main areas of Chernarus - castles, cities etc

A guide map(?) which is pretty much what we have showing all areas as well as topographic highs and lows, mainly used by hikers and the like. These should be quite rare.

Not too keen on loot spawn maps or military maps (wouldnt these just show bases and such).

Hopefully when Chernarus Plus hits us most buildings will be enterable anyway so there should be a chance of finding loot anywhere.

Someone else mentioned a tourist map that shows cities and streets but nothing detailed for the wilderness.

A military map would show the wilderness well but would be less detailed in the cities.

The same person mentioned adding Street names (in Russian) which would help navigate.

I like the starter map idea, sorta. It would have to be experimented with. As for loot maps... no.

Interesting idea. I was about ready to strongly inform to use the search bar based on your title, but this is considerably more original. I applaud you on that.

Anyways, I agree with colekern, loot maps in the style you suggested should not exist. However, you could have "loot" maps that are more similar to the style of the tourist map Vindicator brought up; it could show residential, industrial, and agricultural locations in more detail - i.e., details on place that would have high value loot. For example, a bar currently is a high value residential building. On the tourist map, that bar would probably be named and have some info on it; cluing you in on a good place to look for some loot.

I also thought about the idea that the master map would be created from combining the military, normal, and "tourist" map, which would likely create a valuable item - based on the rarity of the maps, of course.
