Mays (DayZ) 154 Posted October 4, 2012 Haven't played it in a while. Heard there's a new map but wasn't sure if it was official or not.And do many people play this? Compared to 2 months ago.
jackcrow 129 Posted October 4, 2012 Lingor and Takistan are not official so they are local hives. I have no idea about how many are playing official as I dropped Chernarus for Lingor about a month ago and havent looked back since. But Lingor is awesome, I suggest you check it out. Many bugs in Chernarus have been fixed by the private community and the map is 100% better, imo of course.
Tabris07 159 Posted October 4, 2012 I do still play this, though I'm on private servers a bit more than public now.
Louis13245 29 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Have a look at the Dayz mod homepage. It has a statistics panel on the right. Since the statistics panel has been relatively unchanging for quite a while now, and since active players within 24 hours are around 51000 people, the vast majority of people have stopped playing. There's still a reasonable community, just not that big. Edited October 4, 2012 by Louis13245

Louis13245 29 Posted October 4, 2012 Fair enough, then also use forum activity as a side along indicator of community size. There has been a significant drop off in forum activity since a month ago. While the forum is still active, it is no where near as active as it was a month ago. Thus, there has also been a significant drop in the community size. The community is more then large enough for you to still enjoy the game though. Its not like you're coming across only empty servers.

Derpy_Hooves (DayZ) 4521 Posted October 4, 2012 Lingor is pretty cool, i like the whole dense jungle to it at times, great for sneaking about, Fallujah is just pure PvP on a mass city scale, adrenaline pumping goodness and i aint played Utes yet.
gesundheitk 420 Posted October 4, 2012 Many people do play this, though if they actually want to avoid skiddies, they go onto Private Hives. Try to search around in the private hive section and you'll see it's definitely BUZZING (See what I did there?).
Dr.Lyme 88 Posted October 4, 2012 No, no one plays Day Z... no one... not a single person... at all.
