Be careful what program you use to launch DayZ

The amount of people who don't run programs that enable firewalls, scans, virus defense...bloody hell.

Zone Alarm + Advanced System Care =...something, but nothing can get through to your computer.

this problem has almost nothing to do anti virus software.

DayZCommander requieres Administrator Privs on startup, so any AV is fucked anyways (if done right).

But think about what it did:

- read a registry-key (no anti-virus will say anything against that)

- send it to a waiting source (can be done by mail, or HTTP-Post, or, or or... your firewall will not notice because you do not open a socket!)

Brain is more important than anti-virus software!

@OP:

did your anti-virus scans FIND something? if not, you SHOULD be worried. never trust an infected system!

if it is coded properly, it will steal your next key right away!

and it does not matter when your key is sold. why on earth should it? it does not decay :)

Well, it does matter if his key is sold since only 1 and only 1 entity can play at a time and also the guy who stole it or buys it most likely will hack on his key. Best thing to do is keep your key ingame as long as possible. Maybe create a lobby for 2 players online in arma 2 OA and keep machine on for next 2 weeks?

When someone wants to use your key then he will get "key in use" error all the time and he will probably abandon the key after a while.
