HOWTO: Use publicvariableval.txt to auto-kick players with hacked weapons

I may need some help here. I have this applied on my server and tested it out by having someone enter with an AS50 Thermal and it did nothing.

OP stated it only checks during Hive saves and disconnects, so simply joining a server with said gear won't get you kicked right away.

In other news, I did find a gear spawning teleporter on my server just now. He didn't disconnect in between dying and suddenly obtaining a full set of gear, including a radio and cans of Mountain Dew. Thanks Venthos!

I know how to do it myself, but it's more useful if the filter in the original post is amended. ;)

Yeah I plan to update the original list with a more comprehensive list. With the weekend shortly upon me, I should be able to get that done.

I simply have a decent amount of DayZ related tasks on my plate among non-DayZ tasks.

If all goes as well, I should have an appealing (hopefully) announcement post over the weekend that's unrelated to this particular thread.

Isn't there a way to crosscheck the items in game with the list periodically? This would be way better that the "after disco" solution. It would also catch players when they take out illegal items/weapons immediatly.

Of course it would be better to place it directly into the mission...

As a start, here's a list of every invalid item actually detected on my server between August 19th, 2012 and now (using my script and its whitelist of valid items), with the number of times they were each detected, with only one count per item per player login:

If you're wondering why M240, M249, m107, and Mk_48 are on the list, it's because the actual items that are in the game are called M240_DZ, M249_DZ, M107_DZ, and Mk_48_DZ.

How ould I go about checking to make sure the server is saving to the hive or not? I have had it on for quite a few hours now and have seen quite a few illegal weapons come and go, yet still no kicks or logs.

How have you seen them come and go without logs? Open up an .RPT file and search for something like "BAF_AS50_TWS".

Can't seem to get this to work. I have a HFB server I copyed and posted it in to the file but 10min on the server with a AS50 TWS and still no kick

I updated my post about using this with the DCBL publicvariable.txt and publicvariableval.txt. I figured it out: I just had to add the "dayzPlayerSave" detection to publicvariable.txt.

I later discovered that this wasn't true. Don't do this. The linked post should be accurate, though.

I'd love any input.

One of the things I should be able to accomplish in the mod is actively break all non-legit weapons from even functioning in game, period. The game wouldn't even be able to understand what the weapon(s) are let alone permit someone to use one for any period of time.

Excellent job so far, though, on moving forward with this stuff with the CBL integration and the like.

It seems to be kicking but not writing to the log.

In the .rpt file, I see everyone that joined last night with an AS 50 TWS disconnected right after connecting though.

Same with the PDW SD entries.

@RS-DolpH: Check out Mr. Magotchi's post on page 1.

If you include his batch-command, it should add the logging of those lines again for the CBL files. ;)

Managed server, can't do batch files and since I added:

this morning, the log file is spammed with every player save and with the truncation, I can't tell who's got what.
