Assault Run Speed

At the moment we have two speeds, walk and run possibly 3 if you count sprint.

I would like to suggest a new speed, if your equipping an assault rifle and have it aimed then you should be able to move a lot faster than a simple walk, watching some tactical spec ops stuff on youtube those seals and sas guys really shift while still holding focus and keeping aim so why are we forced to be so slow when we aim in DayZ.

Part of the reason so many people use As50's in the game is because the close combat game sucks and is far to clunky, if you could make the combat at close range, guns 300 meters and bellow a lot more like something in CS or COD then a far larger portion of the players would play with those guns rather than hoarding As50's.

if I aim down my gun, let me run at a speed thats half way between walking and running, at least that way the combat can be sped up a bit while still allowing for a difference in speed from running with the gun down and running with the gun up.

I'm glad that aiming in Arma/DayZ is not as easy as it is in CS and COD, and it's still too easy to be realistic IMO. As a survivor without spec ops training, you would rather hit your own foot when you try to shoot while running.

nono....they do snipe because they don't have the balls to fight up close. There is no problem with combat up to 300m. If they would use the SMK animations mod for DayZ it wouldn't make much of a difference because you would still have a hard time to hit a target because you still have weapon sway unlike CoD or CS which calculates dispersion and not the actual bullet leaving the muzzle.

They should never go to "something like in cod" stuff, it makes shit RnG game..

ADS speed could be little faster but you can do fine with present speed... Everyone can "speedwalk" in rl, sway would be bad tho if not trained.

Just play the cod if you want brainless speed combat, I think there is another topic of this "same" thing where you propose that cod thing?

The range of combat is better at range, to simply put it, its more realistic. You want even the smallest of advantage in any firefight, and even when in one it never lasts longer then a few seconds at most.

As for Close range combat, i just switch to first person, The thing is unlike COD or BF3 if you go around a corner and some one shoots you, you can run back around the corner after getting hit 2-3 times and let health regen, where as in this if you get hit first you eithe rget knocked out or you go round a corner get patched up only for th eguy to run round and finish you off.

SO although the gunplay isnt as fast paced as COD/CS/BF3 its more realistic, you need to rely on working with people to make sure you have eyes in the towns, You have to go slow and you have to be paranoid as fuck.

Its unwise to compare it to COD or CS, maybe you could make a comparrison with BF3 (In the Armoured kill expansion the range of combat has increased) But unlike in all this FPS games you die you respawn, there is no cost to death other than a tally count on your K/D ratio, where as in Dayz death means loss, means you now have to start again which gives you a slower paced to combat. Basically they are two totaly differnt games.

I think that's the reason you (as a normal survivor) shouldn't be able to "run and gun" like an elite soldier. Shooting weapons needs practice and I see the normal people/survivors of Chernaurus more like untrained civilians than highly trained soldiers. If there were a skilling system in DayZ maybe you could be able to perfect your assault rifle skill and keep aiming while walking fast. But for the time being I prefer the "I use weapons but it's difficult" approach.

Maybe they should make sniping way harder. Because sniping does need training as well.

I wouldnt mind seeing a advanced bullet physicsin the game, much like sniper elite done, Would make sniping a bit harder when you have to judge cross winds distances drop ect.

is as50 the big barret looking peice of hardware ? if it is i hate that gun it looks stupid and to big compared to the char model..
