It won't do a thing, except delay the high tier loot by a day or two while hackers bring in new loot cans and farmers start duping NVG, RF, AS50, Coyote packs and other high tier loot. By the end of the week, it would be like the wipe never happened. Then what, people start petitioning for weekly wipes and our 'persistent' game is no longer persistent. In any event, the mod is 'dead', I'm waiting for the standalone.

As I've continued to maintain I do not disagree, yes, hackers will spawn new ammo boxes and gear up right out of the gate.

And a few small changes on the hive side, could very easily track those hackers doing it, and submit their GUID's to BattlEye for the next ban sweep.

And it would be much easier to do on a Hive that isn't currently cluttered with an inordinately large amount of unintentionally duped weaponry that was placed into the object tables by a long standing bug.

Course if they simply assigned a unique hash for each weapon legitimately spawned weapon, then purged the Hive daily of any duplicated hashes and invalid hashes, well then we wouldn't even have a duping problem, much less a "hacking" problem in regards to hackers spawning boxes....as nothing out of an ammo crate would generate a valid hash.

But thats stuff to think about for the stand alone, I'm sure.

Not even a good solution. It is just a temperory solution. The long term solution is to deal with duping bugs and hackers.

It's a shame you feel that way, but you're playing an alpha, not a finished product. All you've done and achieved is vapor. None of it matters. I can see that you feel strongly about your streak, but your feelings about your character cannot be allowed to get in the way of the game's development. If Rocket's got to think about everyone's feelings all the time, he'll never be able to realize his vision for the game.

54 days, 87 zombies, no player kills. What have you been doing all this time? Living in the woods eating boars and drinking pond water? Sticking to servers with population under 5? Sitting afk in bushes waiting for your friend/alt to deliver supplies? Your playstyle is valid, of course, but there's no way development should be impeded by a guy who's enjoying about 3% of the content. Your participation in the game has almost no value, since nobody can see your score outside of that screenshot and you're not likely to spot bugs or corroborate reports from your lean-to. In fact, I'd say the best thing for all involved would be for you to ragequit after a hive wipe. You can retire, confident in the knowledge that your system is flawless and your streak could not be broken except by a game reset, and everyone else can get on with playing the game free of scripted-in gear and admin tent cities.

Agreed 100% wipe everything. Others game done it to during Alpha (such as World Of Tanks) and in that game, losing progress is a much bigger problem than in this game.

Also, you can basically get back everything achieved in two to three days, even high end stuff

i cant remember one time i left my cherno->elektro->Rog->Berezino tour without finding a ghillie suit, nvgs can be loote off player or deer stands most of the time, and high end weapons are EVERYWHERE

camps arent that good anyway, i'd say the tents should be deleted completely until duping is fixed

There will allways be hacked in guns, the wipe is to lower the amount of duped weapons includeing scriped in weapons accuired by normal players.

I'm pretty sure as 50s cost a lot. Nothing is "cheap" every thing is fair aslong as its not duped or spawned in (unless the spawned in weapon is accuired though legit ways like killing a hacker who forgot godmode). Why not an m16 or m4 it takes me 30-45 min to get a nato rifle or a 7.62 battle rifle or at least an AKM which after the weapon nerf is much better then the 74.

Umm no, it's quite blatantly clear you were off on holidays or you have an alt on which you play.

Either that or you just sit in the wilderness, hunt animals and do nothing else.

What are you trying to do? build a farm and till some crops for the upcoming winter? Build a castle to defend aganst zombie mobs? Spawn, loot, kill some people, get killed.. thats it. maybe fix a truck now and then. and that only take a evening. Stop hording all the stuff.

i found my first m249 and m14 aim yesterday and was happy as f*ck but when i looked at the "traders" telling players they are selling 10 (!) m4 silenced (i had one ONCE, how could someone possibly get 10 of them and "sell" them ??? some even offer "survival packages") i just lost all the joy i felt when i found "my" first real nice stuff. cause it lost all that made it special. so yes, wipe the shit and put some sort of "watermarks" on the items so everytime a pair of one mark shows up BOTH players just get a nice "sorry you are banned"-message. thats not just for maybe a hand full of people BUT everyone who made it to get such stuff ON HIS OWN can do that again !

and no "second chance" and no "warning shots". because their refusal to play fair ruins a game for a huge community.

sure there will be people duping again but MANY will be too afraid of losing their bucks they spent on the key .. so you hit the cheating f*ckers where it hurts, at their clients who will no longer "buy" stuff !

Has nothing to do worth the fact that you don't kill people. This game needs more people who don't KOS. What I think they are saying is that your gear and qty of zed kills could be rivaled in half and hour.

For the players who voted no you are not being realistic. This mod is in development and needs a reset in order to continue to gather non-biased data and it seems most are extremely attached to their characters. This is a good thing as it shows the potential staying power of this game even in its current state, but for the sake of its development it is a no brainer to wipe the hive.

I don't agree that attrition rates will in anyway remove the current explosion of objects in the Hive that has occurred due to the 1.7.2.5 Hive 0.7.3 bug problems.

And for anyone saying "just remove tents" you might as well add "just remove vehicles, corpses of various NPCs and animals and backpacks" too cause its not like tents are the only place where duping can occur.

Tents are just an unintentional partner in the current object replication flood the Hive is storing. Because they keep refilling themselves....like vending machines, and thats not their fault, and its not our fault either.

I for one welcome derezzing the hive . In its current state it does nothign but aid hackers dupers and clans, and does nothing but hurt those new or running solo.

BTW, on a side note, speaking of feces. Would be cool if there had to be bathroom breaks, and if you could throw it at the zombies or wizz off high buildings onto them >.>
