Is everyone getting banned from DayZ lately, every time i log in there isn't that many player's anymore... What's going on? Do you guys think they should give out a warning before they banned someone forever or ban people temporary for like 30 days...ect... depending on what they did?? What do you guys think? <_<

I would say a permanent ban from the mod. I would be open to the idea of them returning for the standalone. Not sure though.

Hello there

If the ban is legit, then Perma ban them.

But as with BE there has to be a way to stop and solve non legit bans (which on the whole are rare)

You can't choose one or the other. There will always be minor offenses that deserve temp bans and more severe offenses that deserve perma bans.

When it comes to hackers, permaban the bitches. There is no "omg I didn't know I'm soooo0o0o0o sorry" when it comes to cheating.

Forever.

And if you bought Arma 2 on Steam or Sprocket, you should be banned from buying new keys to join again.

The DayZ mod bans should also be ported over to the Standalone.

* This is assuming the OP is taking about hacking. - Server bans should be up to the admins.

However, The DayZ dev team should deal with admin abuse on Hive connected servers.

If Servers are set up to facilitate hacking, Duping or other expolits they should be banned forvever also.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Beans.

Didn't vote though, due to the lack of the 'correct' option. (Forever for hacking/severe, temp for minor)

Problem is, you can just make a new STEAM account and buy it with no fuss. As for duping and such.. those are flaws with the engine at the core. As stated by the dev team ..nothing can be done about it, period. Server bans are up to the server admins now. Issue is figuring out who is doing it with total certainty.

Banning them from buying a new key on Steam or Sprocket doesn't prevent them from creating a new account but it does make hacking that much more trouble.

If you get a VAC ban it applies to all games that use the same engine....

You can't ban them completly but you can make it hurt a little bit.

A good deal of the hacking and duping is being facilitated by the admins themselves.

Taking a hard line on it is good for the health and future of the game.

Spanking the hackers and bad admins just makes good business sense.

Forever. They don't learn if they get a slap on the wrist. EA tried it with BF3 and it just doesn't work

Ya, well EA promoted several hackers to moderator status on Battlelog.....

EA hands out slaps on the wrist because they are happy with hackers buying new keys

the only time the serious ban hammer comes down is when you say naughty things about their games on the forums

that will get your account locked along with all your games.

They did that to several people who were invited by EA to their studios in California to view Bad Company 2 Beta before it was released

they said it was a bad, dumbed down console game not worthy of the Battlefield name and lost their accounts and games for it.

Where is the "depends" option. What exactly were you/they doing. If you exploiting a glitch then a 30 day ban would be fine. Along with losing you're stuff. Hacking should be a one mouth first time. One year second time. FOREVER THIRD TIME. And after the first time they put you on watch.
