well admin can see basically most of the stuff in the server .

this kinda ruins it really as they can spawn vehicles go straight to them or see where others have stored theres . it kinda makes getting anyithng and keeping it pointless if the person who runs server just checks and can take it.

i know it can be useful against hackers but basically the whole survival thing is basically not going to work in the long term as admins know where everything is anyway,

most servers are run by groups and these have the power to dominate while you play. not sour grapes i just dont get why you would let people have such an advatange over other players.

will this be changed for the standalone ? hopefully it is as most server are exactly as above .

Amins are not capable of spawning vehicles unless they themselves are running a script on their client. And locations MAY be in there, but its not obvious to me and I don't care to find out how and ruin my own fun.

On 1.7.2.4 admins could see players locations, on 1.7.2.5 the location co-ords no longer show I suspect to stop admins using dayz radar.

I dont know where you get the vehicle locations or spawning them from, rent a server and see for yourself how powerless admins really are.

He's completely right in his judgment though. Even with the limited amount of power admins are given they are abusing it as much as they possibly can. (Not all but many, possibly the majority). Everything from reseting the server after they are killed or lose something to locking servers when they first open so they can round up everything they want. Even with severely limited power they are abusing it as much as they possibly can. I can't even fathom the abuse that would occur is many of them were given even more power.

Which is sad cause there are admins out there who genuinely want to test and provide the best experience they can for people on there server. Unfortunately they are overshadowed by people buying servers so they can get any advantage they can, rocket has stated that admins should be no different than anyone else. Yet even now they can horde vehicles and save there own camps like no one else. So yeah, he's got a damn point.

Hrrm I must be out of the loop cause as the admin of a server I can't tell you where fuck all is going to be unless the server just restarted and due to 1.7.2.5 and Hive 0.7.3 I can guarantee the vehicles are going spawn back at their original first load spawn points and thats about it.

I don't know where players are. I don't know where peoples camps are. All I know is where my stuff is and thats about it. I can't spawn vehicles, I can't spawn weapons. I don't know where anything is on the server if its not where its supposed to be at. If someone else finds a vehicle before I do, it could be anywhere at that point and all I can guarantee is it will return to its original spawn point on the next scheduled restart and thats it.

Far as whats being described by the OP, the only server admins that can do this kind of thing are no different than all the "players" of this mod that do the exact same thing via scripts and injection hacks. The admin using this kind of thing has no more power than a hacking player does. The only difference is the admin won't ban themselves for seeing what they're doing in their own logs.

But...BattlEye will ban them eventually, just like it will with all the players that are "hacking just enough to not get caught".

So, all told, the OP is completely irrelevant. Misinformed, and doesn't understand what server admins can actually do....which, if they're not using hack programs...amounts to pretty much nothing more than a normal player can do.

I have this same problem on de 1251, The admin is able to pinpoint the location of the players, We even drove round once while his clan kept marking us on the map, wherever we went we were marked. today we had the admin trapped in the air tower at the barracks with Night vision on him so he cudnt run, funny thing is when his torch came on out the window it was pointed at my exact location everytime i moved. that and the fact he had OUR tractor parked outside (and yes i know it was ours by the loot inside) that was left at a base, no possible way to beat us to the barracks from the location we set out from in the van. So yeh some admins are hacking, and they need to be banned,

Same rules should apply to everyone, Only admin powers shud be a report feature, that adds a day ban from that server, enough reports and that player shud be banned from the hive.

I do get the admins going mad, cause yeh i have met some good ones on some servers and I have met some bad ones, like these #@!#@ or one who banned my mate after some guy stole the truck the admin and my mate were in,

but de 1251 is where we have our stashes, our viehcles and such, and cant be bothered starting over again.

So yeh, sort out the hacking Dayz! and the tents lol, thats all that stops this game from being epiccccc, give normal players the report feature too.

We have video evidence of this guy abusing the game, Hell he even alt f4'd after a dmr to the head, came back in lower down the air tower even tho it still showed him at the top with his rifle aimed and wasted my mate. I got him back tho gunned him down n he went to bed crying i hope lol. Just hoping the stand alone will sort all the issues out

Ya if they are spawning shit that means they using programs to cheat...i think admins need way more detailed logs like who killed who and how, so if people actually screenshot or tape proof of hackers they get banned and shit.

People apparently are confusing private hive and public hive. Public hive admins can't do anything except restart the server, unless they are cheating. Which is a separate issue.
