So i was looking to counter snipe some one for a AS50 because the game decided to be a dick and remove all my gear. So i head from Electro up to the barn to find a hopefully a CZ550 when i encounter the worst sniper in DayZ he unloaded what i think was 7 rounds from a M107 i could not hear where the shots came from. I ran in behind a building to scan the mounted side and radio tower but i quickly realized he was behind me and not far away. I re logged quickly to lose the zombie horde, got shot at a few more times after i came around the corner but not a scratch on me. Found the awful shot and shot him with my AK-74 he quickly left the server so i made my way to the other side of the mountain. Hopped server to a higher populated server 10 seconds after spawning i heard at least 3 different weapons fire at me one akm or AS50, one M16/M4 and one silenced weapon only one of them could shoot through the tree but none hit me i guess they fought i logged out. Rambo mode activated i start a man hunt for these guys hoping for a 3 vs 1 battle. I hear shots from an Akm i think at this point but the other shooters did not seem to want to fire more i scan the entire area and guessed that they have moved closer to Electro. I move up no signs of life but a cow close to the fire station but i still hear shot from one of the shooters. I take a risk and for the first time on that server i stood up and ran. I went into prone when i herd more gun shot but not at me again i see a man running down the mountain the a M16 on his back and 1911 in his hand (guess he ran out of ammo) i follow him but he ran out of my line of sight. Shots still flying through the air down at people looting Electro. I move up and find the shooters location and he just logs out....

I think I can safely say that all people involved in this story are shitbags.

The number of server hopping and logging in/out is astounding. So glad I don't hang around the coast where I have to deal with that much of it.

Do people really play like this? I guess I am missing something, because I only re log to clear graphics glitches, or maybe if there is massive hacking going on. I stay and fight always...zombies, people, whatever. And I'm not Johnny bad ass or anything, I usually die in firefights.

So you come on the forums to tell everyone you are cheap, if you have a horde chasing you then run through a building, kill them, or suffer the consequences. At the very least do not log off while in the middle of a fight, that is sissy shit. You guys are a cancer to this game, I hope you get AIDS (joking, but come on man at least lie in your retelling of the story so you do not look like a bitch).

Let me preface this by saying I do not do this (well since I was a newb, most of us have done something cheap in our early dayz life), but I do not have a huge problem with people doing this when they are not in combat. It is cheap, but it only ruins the experience for that single player. It is completely unnecessary especially with the tree glitch that allows you to lose agro or the fact that you can run into any building with two doors and lose the agro, but the only persons game play it harms is the person doing the log out.

The only part of that story I don't mind is the logging off right after logging in and taking fire.

Everything else is cowardice, but in that instance and in the case of a hack attack I can understand choosing to logg off immediately. You need a bit of time to gather your surroundings after logging on, trying to do so while taking fire will likely end up killing you.

(IRL if I woke up and heard gunshots I'd still be on the ground and act dead long enough to understand the situation. In DayZ we don't have that option)

I think you suck, bro. Today I logged in near a guy by mistake (it was night when i signed out for the night so I didn't really know where I was). I joined and he was 75m away. I fired and may have hit him but I had a AK 74u so my range was limited. I he didnt log out so I didn't chase him or anything. It is weird that a person that is shot at and doesn't quit is a hero.

Thanks OP, if I had known that this was an acceptable and community supported method of game play, I wouldn't have lost my 45 day old character in a 2v3 gunfight when I stumbled across their ural in the forest. If only I'd logged out when the first shots were fired and my mate was killed ..... wow ... I feel so dumb now. :(
