Why is everyone so agressive?

Recommended Posts

Sadly you almost *cant survive* if you watched up by another player(this is kind of retardet)why i go to tree lines....when another player can clearly see because on the distance more than 50meters you cant se grass etc....so lay down is useless....forrest is good because of the textures of trees....but still....if some camping on the hill by electro...player who goes toward electro....CANT be hidden because of the level of detail :/

I just shot 4 people in Elektro because they came into the buildings I was looting. The way I see it my options are:

1) Try and speak with them, alerting them to my presence and then they are much more likely get a shot off at me if they want.

2) I kill them and survive.

3) I log out like a massive coward.

With option 1, there's a chance:

1) They will claim to be friendly and lie

2) Be friendly until they spot the fancy gear on you

3) Be friendly and not shoot

4) Be friendly and run away

5) Be hostile and try to shoot you.

You have no control over which one he picks, so letting people survive is a bit like playing russian roulette.

I remember back in the good old dayz when this mod was first released. PVP was awesome, most people would interact with you before killing you, now that all the kiddies have jumped on the bandwagon PVP consists of find a sniper rifle sit in a bush and shoot everything in sight, armed or not.

I really do hate when people kill unarmed survivors, especially from a distance with a scoped rifle. I can understand if they are looting something and you're in the same building then they can be a threat but to kill an unarmed player from so far away is just being an asshole, no exceptions.

I agree Schrapple. To be honest, I keep telling myself it's an alpha and hopefully there'll be some kind of restructuring to help limit PvP. The new humanity marker might help but I think the people who PvP will get bored soon enough and move on. But the never-ending supply of new players mean we will always have to suffer PvP.

I doubt it will happen for the release of the game but maybe in later upgrades we will get a chance to vote for sherriffs who have high enough humanity and/or gun skills. And arrange bounty hunting teams who can kill killers without losing humanity.

I hereby vote for myself to be Sheriff! I just want the badge to be honest...

Of course, you are missing the other side of it.

I am not a killer, I have some empathy I guess.

The thing is, you don't see when another player sees you and just waits for you to leave or backs away.

There must be hundreds of sightings where I could have killed someone, but didn't. You didn't see me, so I let you be. This happens more than you might think. A lot more.

And there are plenty of co-op players. I was sniped and respawned in electro, some poor new spawn was trying to get to the firestation. I sneaked up on him and shouted out "BOO" in direct chat about 2 feet behind him. After he had changed his trousers, my team came down in the bus, we took him to starey and armed him to the teeth.

So, now and then, someone will come along and make your day... If you get through the sniper fire.

Plus, get off the coast ASAP, hit some deer stands on the way to Starey Sober and hope like hell you get in and out without being seen, at that point you should be good to survive.

Oh well, I am now heading up north trying to avoid the denseley populated coast areas. Im not doing bad, once you get the hang of it its not so bad. But I really do miss there would be more interaction with other players.

Now if I see someone I point him with my gun to try and dissuade him from shooting me. Then if after some time he hasnt shot me i lowe my gun and salute, follow him and try to talk to him. I have tried time and time again to establish conversation in every languague that I know (English german spanish) but no luck yet. That is quite a shame, i wish there was an easier way to communicate,I hate playing in a world where everyone seems to be mute. I mean I found a noob like me and asked him if he wanted help (both on Voice Comm and chat) but to no avail.

I guess ill just have to look for someone to be my buddy here on the forums ....

You pretty much have to be 95% non-confrontational to succeed the slightest bit in this game. Avoid all and any communication. As soon as you spawn make a bee-line to the north-east.

I'm aggressive in DayZ, because i was repeatedly dropped as a child, abused in high school, and am too scared to give in to the endless sea of hatred in any other way than in video games.

My friend has a very small.. pencil.. in his office, and his aggression comes from that. It also happens to fire blanks.

My son in law, xXSnip0r99Xx has no life whatsoever, is still a virgin and reacts the only way he can - killing people in DayZ.

The only explanation, isn't it? Nope.

Some people do not speak English, the ones that do, either do it poorly, have no microphones, don't know how to use microphones or are alt tabbed. Everyone else is just playing to kill other people.

The OTHER only explanation, right? Wrong.

We are aggressive, because some of us just find the game too easy without PvP / lack of endgame is leaving us no other option than to pvp, after you gear up (which can be done in an hour tops, if you've played the game for some time)

Yes? No.

Maybe we're just KOS out of fear and / or previous dealings with people who shot at us on sight, and so the great, endless circle of murder is fueled? Maybe the reasons are Roleplaying ones? Actuall zombie apocalypse would turn many of us into bandits, who would turn on their own friends if need be... Perhaps..

The answer is all of the above, and then some.

Now stop making them long posts, and announce that you're friendly in Cherno, so that i can shoot at you, before somebody eventually downs me, before getting killed himself.

Sounds like you are adapting nicely. I am glad you are sticking with it and trying things differently.

Send me a message on the forum here and we'll try to hook up sometime. I got too much stuff in my pack anyhow. :)

>Be unarmed

>Stalk armed player

>Find hatchet in shed.

>Sneak up on armed player and bash him in the head.

Thats why.

I've taken to killing anyone I see... because frustration finally set in after a month of playing and getting hacked, sniped, hatcheted, shot, stabbed and betrayed.

I also let them know I was driven to do it by circumstance... and that it's simply revenge for all the times I was taken down...

It's oddly good stress relief.
