Needs an endgame. There not much to keep you interested more than a few days, except trolling n00bs.

Playing and enjoying but dealing with dying to hackers at least twice a week which goes without saying is pissing me / us (community) off.

I'm still having fun with DayZ despite all the issues. It's in Alpha, so I can't complain about the hacking, screen tearing, or duping because that's all just part of it.

Sure it's frustrating at times, but I really don't pay it any attention because it's just a genuinely fun mod.

I still love it, it's a lot harder to keep players/clans active after a few months with a lack of end game content.. and with not being able to save vehicles/people not being able to connect at all, many seem to have taken a break. I'm still here though and intend on moving to the standalone when it's released.

I voted, but this vote is irrelevant; and please do not take any offense to my response pooya. It's unfortunate that this has to be beaten into the ground: this mod is in alpha. Those who vote "no" are not contributing to the point of an alpha.

I personally still enjoy it I dont have the time to put into the game the way I assume many do because I have not encountered a lot of what most people complain about. I still find it fun, and I enjoy the fact that there is no end game, I mean is truly a end game in any zombie movie etc? Anyways I am still on .4 have a lot of stuff I havent done and plently to keep me intrested the way I play

Still loving the game but have actively tried to not over-play and end up with burnout. When I first started I was playing constantly every chance I got but now I only play one or two evenings a week and it's much better, I don't get annoyed as much and find it easier to take the rough with the smooth. More than anything though I'm really looking forward to the standalone version.

I still play, but I admit I've been logging in less and less. At this early point in development I'm more excited to see how the game evolves, but lack of content is kinda burning me out currently.

Once you come to the realization that you shouldn't become too attached to your gear, it makes it a little easier when a hacker takes everything from you. I was just on last night when all of a sudden everything on me vanished and I was turned into a zombie. I then proceeded to chew a friend's face off until I was put down by a few other team mates... It was a sad day. I knew I should have stayed away from those bath salts... ><

I've been loving the DayZ experience up until recently. Yes, this is another whinge about hackers.

I'd gone weeks, without being killed by a cheat.

Friday was the day it happened first. Got teleported and then killed instantly.

I wasn't massively Pi**ed. Just thought "Oh, well" and went to the pub.

But since then. I haven't been able to log back on without being hassled by cheats. It's constant insta-death, or random massive fires, or vehicles everywhere, Everyone in Ghille-Suits, players with god mode etc.

I don't know how I managed so long without experiencing this side to the game, but now I can't get away from it.

I don't get the cheating. There's no sense of skill or achievement by using apps to spawn all your gear, vehicles and equipment, and I really don't get the enjoyment in ruining the game for people who want to play properly.

Hope the standalone version has some way of dealing with this. The best thing to happen to gaming in ages is being ruined by idiots.

Still fun, and I play a lot. It's a random situation generator. Some days the sky is ugly and sometimes all those water particles and light come together to blow your mind. Chaos is beautiful, and I don't expect to have a game when it's the alpha of a mod. The core is still solid.

It's a dumb question really. If you are reading the forum, you're still playing.

There are a lot of people, some moderators like griff, who himself has said he has stopped playing because of the bugs etc, and others that have a variety of reasons to still be on the forums. Some people are still interested in the development and others are waiting for improvements because they don't really want to help test.

It just needs more content to keep people interested. Guys like the trading company have a pretty interesting thing going on, to add a little depth to the game so a lot of interest might need to come from player interaction other than just shooting people. I just hope Rocket is a creative guy and can come up with a lot of content other than just... go find food/water/sneak past zombies/kill other players.

As mentioned before, would be nice if players could take over cities and fortify them or create their own outposts. Would give bandits something to do (infiltrate/kill) would give people who like to work cooperatively something to do to collect materials/build/defend. That is the basis of survival.

Character and gear customization would be a plus too, just to help people personalize/immerse themselves. Since this is a permadeath game, it would still be a nice addition even if you did lose everything you worked for.

I feel the "hardcore" players of this game though are only concerned with the FPS aspect of it and just want to kill people and don't care about the side content, in my short experience on the forums anyone who makes comments or dislikes... that is what they fall back on.

Different floats for different boats.

im still enjoyintg it the same way i did upon my initial noob login..

surviving solo, avoiding people and exploring while trying to find enuf ammo/food/water..

sure ive had my runins with asshats/bugs/hackers.. but not enuf to make me stop playing..

i just pick low pop servers and play cautiously..i also dont play for hours on end..

i play long enuf to keep the tension/angst meter pinned.. if i start to feel like ive played long eunf, i find a safe spot and log out..

Let's be honest. The only way you can get away with the whole 'alpha' argument is because this mod is free. Imagine if the standalone game had problems like this. "It's alpha" just won't fly.

They say they're going to follow the Minecraft model. I certainly hope they understand what that means, because throwing out buggy patches that aren't really an improvement isn't what Minecraft did. It was very playable in the early stages of development, and there were few bugs IIRC.

An alpha in a persistent online game that is essentially a living, breathing thing should be treated differently than an alpha of any other type software. I hope they realise this, because they didn't when it came to the mod IMO.
