I kinda had a idea about the situation when i saw the website that looks like its 10 years old and the very unprofessional written stance towards Global ban appeals, really not shocking at all. Think you are right regarding the time it takes to get a reply back from the person since he is only one man :P

If it really is a one man operation, he's got way too much going on... He'd have to handle coding up improvements, testing them, handling unbans, managing his site, deal with PR issues, oh my god this guy must be swamped with work... Why doesn't he expand? This is too much for any one person! All of this could have been avoidable... :(

So what i ran into everybodies camp looted all there stuff and teleported every vehicle into the ocean!!

Im not a hacker I wouldnt even have a clue how to hack.

Will this GUID then get banned instead that of the hacker? I read something like that a few pages back, what is up with that? I also read a thread long time ago about people using the GUID of other people and then playing as them.

this is something that really sux with basically all game providers / anti-cheat providers - Your looking at anywhere between 24 hours to 2 weeks before they will get back to you. Unfortunately most seem to be about the 2 week marker more than the 24 hours.

Depends on how bad the marketing / managerial side decide this is worth to their sales, and so far it doesn't have a big enough impact for them to give a flying fuck. . .

I'd expect if 100,000 or so encountered this it would be dealt with and have "community mangers" making twitter / forum / blog statements about it and it's "urgent" fix that is coming.

So far there has been none of that, just a buzz here and there on a couple forums.

If the denizens of the various threads I've read are correct, then yes. Seems there's a script to DL the server.cfg out there. With the server.cfg, you can find the server pass, and with that, see people's GUIDs. From there, all you need to do is spoof the person's GUID.

What are some ways of making sure i don't find myself wrongfully banned? And in regards to the GUID case, could logging into a server easily make me a target for a GUID spoof? Assuming it's real and hackers use it.

Have you don't any item interactions? I mean as in sorting gear between tents and then logging off for a bit or changing server then coming back to the one with tents?

That's essentially what I was doing just before the ban, running back after dying to glitched rock, looted some tents on the way. Then got back to my base and sorted some gear between our tents. Picked up some spare gear my mate and I had farmed, swapped to server I had been on earlier where I had found an atv, emptied it of the gear of value then jumped back on to mine and woopa. Global ban.

Exactly what i did before my global ban...

Still waiting for one single person that I know or trust from the forums here to make this claim.

One thing that all these banned people have in common is low post counts (most under 60) Not saying that means anything but really? Not one respected member of this community has been banned? Im active on the ARMA forums too and I havent seen anyone claim that beta patch 95777 has caused a wrongful ban. ARMA uses the same BE and same beta patch as dayz and not one false positive mentioned.

I wont say your all hackers and something could have happened but the true scripters are going to cling to this excuse like a dingleberry trying to get their ban overturned.

Anyone who denies the possibility of GUID spoofing is simply not very computer savvy. I can't say I have proof a method out there exists for this but there is no way anyone who has any insight into the world of hackers and exploiters would ever say something can't be done.

The common thread seems to be loggin in and out of servers......Someone gave the link of a so called vet Named grunt. He said he had logged out and back in......I posted earlier that I logged out to go to a night server because of the graphical glitches and i got a warning about rapid logging.

So I bet alot of the bans are are people who are loot farming, teleporting, alt F4'ing ect.....losers ;)
