DAYZ an honest and Truthful Opinion - Respect to Rocket

Hi All,

I am still a noob when it comes to DAYZ so dont be a hater for what I am posting. As a gamer I have been playing for longer than I can remember and I want to use this post to recognize the work of Rocket. No I dont have a bromance but how good is this game. People don't realize how successfull this game is. 900,000 people in half a year. What MOD (not game) has generated so much interest. I have been looking through these forums and I have heard a lot of complaints but very few of praise.

This is what I say to all those haters out there. This is Amazing for an alpha release. Battlefield 3 had more hackers and bugs in its beta releases. Keep in mind that this is a multi million dollar company with departments of devs who can devote there time to fix this stuff. Correct me if I am wrong but Rockets team is only small 5 or so devs? What they have managed to achieve is tremendous. This game has some bugs but for what its worth its definately playable. Yes there is going to be hackers and exploiters its just going to happen. Every game suffers from it so its not isolated.

I am also currently playing Ghost Recon Future Soldier which I paid $50 for. I could not play the game for 2 weeks because I could not use the keyboard and mouse. Now this is ubisoft who are supposed to be the best in the business and they can not even release a PC game with keyboard and mouse support. Currently you can only play 10 minutes of a MP game and then get kicked. How long can you jump on a DAYZ server for without getting kicked. My personal experiences say "For as long as I want to play".

I was never a looter when it comes to games Diablo and WOW just bore me. But what Rocket and the team have developed is an amazing concept. What games people talk about the team has been able to create. The options in this game are so vast that its amazing to cram into one game.

I have no affiliation with BI or Rocket.. Just a grateful forum member and player showing respect where its due.

agreed. i think the point new players dont recognise is, this MOD was not created for the casual gamer and by that i mean, the game is based on ARMA2, a military simulator and an established niche community.

using that source engine, the MOD was created with a specific vision of gameplay and experience, which in its essence is brutal and tough. you are dropped without gear, without assistance or instruction and the solepurpose of surviving.

nothing is given to you except resources that you might explore, scavange, fight to find... this is why the game is so unique..... because the rest is up to you.

I play a bit of BF3 and the hackers on there can knife you from 1km away. Headshots through walls and this game has been in production for over a year and punkbuster is still not able to stop them.

I agree with OP and tip my hat to Rocket and crew, they are true artists doing this, and are really doing something special.

Been gaming forever too, this is one of the best alpha release mods of all time.

Its amazing how ungrateful, SOME NOT ALL, people are these days. You offer a hand and they want an arm. The people who are complaining about this game being a PVP game have not stepped foot out of cherno and elektro. I find it quite enjoying to be able to go on a 4 hour long adventure going through remote towns with just a compass and a map.

I ask anyone who is reading this post to name a MOD, actually even a game that has this much potential? I think this post will go quiet as there trully is no other game with this diversity.

I give one final challenge. Dont play the game for a week. Do you miss it? Yes you do, you little DAYZ hoar... You miss it bad haha... Thats because the game is good. You keep playing because its fun.

I play in Aussie if you want to join me and my mates. Once server requirements are a little cheaper I will definately hire a server out. After all money doesnt grow on trees :D

Actually it is, mostly up north, Dupers and server hoppers currently rule the servers. For an alpha mod I find it interesting but its got a long way to go fixing dupers, infinite ammo, etc and adding some more simulation elements.

DayZ is actualy quite good, far less cheaters than the other game which shall not be named! Only bad thing i can come up with is that i heard Rocket took the made up description "Foundation Release" to him. Hope thats not true, should not continue to use something Sergey Titov made up to cover up their mistakes and lies.
