Why do my barracks drops always suck ass?

Bad luck or server hoppers? Don't get me wrong, I find useful things in the two barracks, just never anything extraordinary like NVGs or an SVD.

My best drop from the barracks so far is an M240.

Yeah, I've pretty much stopped going to the Barracks. It's too much of a pain to get in and out of the NW airfield safely with very little reward. Only thing of value I've looted from the barracks was an MK48 Mod 0, it was cool, but very loud. I get better stuff in the tower at the Balota airfield.

I also have been just running around in the woods up near the NW AF and finding camps.

That place sees more action than a vagas whorehouse. Its over rated,the risk/reward ratio is pathetic and in the end your best bet is to just find chopper wrecks and hit deer stands.

What I've found at NWAF: M4SD,s M240's and M16/M203's.

What I've found at chopper wrecks: enough FAL's I ignore them,enough M14 AIM I ignore them, FAL/NV that are almost useless,Mk48's, 249's, 240's, Barrets, AS50's ,Bisons, MP5SD's, NVG's and rangefinders and tons of medical stuff. Found one chopper with 3 boxes of meds. Blood bags,morphine and bandages like seen in the hospitals.

No luck on the L85's or wookie suits but that day is comming.

Best i got at the barracks was an m4a3 cco ..i really prefer my ak kobra. Same as BlksnshN, i have had better luck finding camps..not that i find many but they do seem more common than crashed helis, for me anyway.

It is the other way buddy, in barracks only and never at a crash site. The ammo spawns in boxes at the crash sites but never the actual gun.

The reason you never find anything good is because the loot doesn't re-spawn until everything inside is picked up or the server is restarted. The first person/group there after a restart/taking the time to clear it out gets the best items or at least all he/they can carry.

Unless you get there right after a server restart, or are moving the loot out and spawn looting it, you won't get much good loot anyway.

Best gear I've gotten from the barracks was an M16A4 ACOG.

An SVD -can- spawn in the barracks. It's just a .11% chance of a drop.

My best loot from barracks so far was 1x range finder and 1x MK48 mod.

Other then that it was just usual stuff you can find on deerstands.

Speaking about heli crashes, found several FN FAL's, 1x M107, about 4x AS50 and few BISON SD's.

Best loot in the barracks = the 'one or two other individuals you outcompeted to get there's pack. My instant respawn is to deerstand and downed heli loot until I have a good weapon like a FAL with a clip or two and head to the barracks on a populated server. Take every step of entry slow and calculated with plenty of scouting and you'll see other players moving in or leaving, it's practically an inevitability. At that point you do whatever you do in a pvp engagement and take out the target. Generally players that are looting even have all the tools and equipment I skipped over. It's cool it teaches pvp and at worse you get an adrenalin high.

Well...if you look at the loot tables. Everything except the AKM and AKS are under a 1% drop rate for the barracks. I generally will run in and out real fast if im in the area and ive scanned it to make sure its safe. Other than that I would rather hunt for crashed helo's than risking the often camped NWAF.
