Pending Update: Build 1.7.2.5

Two things that really need to be fixed are the fact tents don't save and the graphical glitches. If you don't fix the graphical glitches, I can't even really play.

For the love of God, can we just do a HIVE server reset after this update? Wipe all character data plz. Would be nice to have everyone start from zero plz.

I literally JUST got the helicopter, it was JUST released. Why the hell would he do that wipe when I went through all that effort?

you're probably right. but I can only imagine the shit-storm that would ensue when people lose all their duped... er I mean hard earned stuff

Is it impossible to assign a unique serial for every weapon that is spawned/generated and disallow duplicates of that serial?

Here are the commands available in ArmA 2 and setVariable is the one you'd want to assign an ID to something with. If you take a look at what you can run it on, you'll find weapons aren't included (they're not objects - you take weapons out of weapon holders, even if you see them on the ground).

The issue has to be adressed in the engine.

The ACRE mod solved this by creating a bunch of classes for every type of radio that existed (they wanted to store settings like volume and frequency for each radio in the mission). This was workable, since they only needed them to be unique in the context of a single mission on a single server. In terms of dayz, rocket would have to create an incredible amount of classes per base class of item, and these would have to be patched into the mod in advance (you can't modify classes at runtime).

With the weapon nerv by Arma 1.62, Zeds are really annoying to deal with.

I think that's the whole point. It's not MEANT to be EASY.

Too many people say "zombies are way too easy to deal with" and now that they are getting harder due to nerfs and altered behaviour they are "too hard". *shrugs*

It happens all the time in other games (mod for the pedantic) that are in alpha/beta stage.

Isn't it the 1st rule of Dayz? Not to get attached to your items.

Derp, wiping the servers wouldn't fix the duping glitches. Learn to play and find downed heli's and get NVG's on your own. My group only takes one night of loot cycling to find good stuff, we don't dupe.

Rocket is looking at a way to roll back the nerv by adjusting the health system - the nerf had nothing to do with DayZ or Rocket btw in other words the nerf was not intended for Dayz.

They are too hard if you just spawned and/or new to the game, and they are too easy if you have decent firearms and/or played quite a time.

I'm still able to kill with 1 shot when using the m1911 & Revolver.

no not headshots, bodyshots.

yes i have 1.62.0.93593 beta update installed and i was using 1.7.1.4 patch.

and no i don't realy want a fix :D

that doesn't change the fact there's groups out there sitting on tons of duped items. obviously the duping issues need to fixed as well

yeah, but you put yourself in a position where you shouldn't be complaining about anything, since you're not using the correct versions

Thank the lord! In previous patches, I'd get the barbed wire screen seizure once in a blue moon, reloading Arma usually helped with that. But the last patch...my lord...bridges, bodies, played deployed and static tank traps/barbed wire and much more were making ME have seizures, nevermind my screen. Please let this launch on Wed, the graphical bugs are making the game ALMOST non playable at the moment.

A small part of me is sad to endless ammo be gone, but the bigger part is quite happy. That and the fact that dupeing has almost fully been vanquished, people can actually start being gear consious (for as long as you can keep your gear that is :P). It will bring that survival feel back into the game and make people actually think about shots, rather than just going full auto with a DMR, 1911, M10 and the other guns that benefited from the 'mag cycling' bug.

1.7.2 so far I feel has made leaps and bounds in controlling/eliminating widely used and abused bugs/exploits. Not to mention new features and game balancing, keep it up dev team!

I have no really big complaints.

Only thing i think that should be changed is the damage of guns.

Since the new update from Arma II the gun damage is severely reduced, some guns with almost half the damage.

In update 1.7.2.4 zombies also got alot harder to kill and they got more deadly because they can see further.

This in combination with the less damage makes is almost impossible to survive a day at the airports.

It should be one of the two, but not both..

Maybe take a look at this?

I would like to know something. Today I had my second real undeniable hacker encounter. First there were two helicopter crashes next to each other (maybe 50m apart). And there was a lonely heli. When I try to go to the heli, my bones break and I die. What the hell was that? I couldn't hear anything. Does that happen if someone shoots at you from 1000m away with a .50 cal? What made me wonder about this is, that me and my friend were at the area the whole last hour and after we scouted the nearest area, we didn't care about safety and were out in the open. All the time we were some pretty nice targets, but nothing happened. Why was there no bullet sound at all??? Was that a legit kill or a hack? I really don't know!

Well anyway. I respawn and after 10 or 5 minutes we all get teleported next to Ballota. Even the vehicles. Someone starts shooting and the slaughter began. Thankfully my friend was able to log out fast enough. I had nothing to loose and tried to figure out more. Of course someone shot me.

As weapon nerf was adeed in version 1.62.0.XXXXX and i am using beta update 1.62.0.xxxxxx then it IS the correct update, of course dayz version has no effect (yet) but nerf would be working with any version especially 1.7.2.3 onward, i was using 1.7.2.4.

Even though i wrote 1.7.14 it was a typo but never the less the dayz version would not matter as nerf was in the arma2 engine nothing to do with dayz.

edit: and I don't know what version you're using. you say 93593, but as far as I know even the 1.61 betas were 94xxx

Great work Rocket, even though you should just tell people to turn off anti aliasing and then work on other stuff :L but seriously great work, I know loads of people were being negative about the last patch but I played earlier and there's nothing wrong with it, good job :beans:
