I only get 9999 pings for all servers in SL' date=' only a few (3-5) have actual pings shown.

Six Launcher is the source of severe lags !

It seems that it regularly downloads big amount of info making traffic jams so big that even Skype conversations lags.

In game it was 3-7 second lags every 50-100 seconds.

When I started to close it after I connect to servers it became much better.

And it also big in memory (not an issue if you have plenty of it) and not quick to start (slow game verifying)/

Now I figured out how to launch DayZ without it' date=' but will use it for mod updates.

Can you reproduce it if you enable "Only rely on server list provided by SU Portal" in the options ?

The verification stage is to make sure the mod files are in order, e.g in case of manual fiddling or other external factors etc.

Could you please share a bit more specific details to form a better analysis and able to fix it:

- What is Big in memory? Usual consumption of the application is between 80 and 160 MB.

- How do you experience said lags? Desync, or stuttering/low fps?

- What's your upload and download bandwidth?

- Startup of application should be rather quick. Verifying state only occurs once you perform it. How long does the verify state take for you?

We can disable processing while the game is running, and also introduce auto close on joining servers, and probably some more areas to improve performance.

For next release of the Launcher I've implemented the Options: "Suspend sync while game is running" - enabled by default,

and "Close after Launch" - disabled by default, which will terminate the software upon launching of the game.

Still very much would love to receive the requested details (above).

It isn't nearly so bad as the guy up there makes it sound, but the two features to deal with the game running are both much appreciated. I've never had an issue with it running in the background behind the game, but I've heard others say that closing it does improve lag.

i can't get my DAYZ working as i get stuck on the loading screen when using six launcher (i have steam version of arma2 combined OP installed) and i can get into a server on steam which launch options "-mod=@dayz -nosplash" but i have no character model, where i am invisible with no items spawned.

i am using ARMA2_OA_Build_94444.zip for the bata patch and i am using the updated six launcher. i am on a 64Bit windows 7 computer.

can someone help?

Having weird problems? I get this HUGE Lag burst every 10-20 seconds that last another 5-10 seconds, i was told closing six would help it so i tried it, worked once, now its even worse though >.> When it worked once i thought it was fixed as i never once had a problem but im not sure what to think of it, btw here is my PC Specs just to give a bit, i know its pretty bad but i dont lag at all inbetween the stupid bursts >.>

Running Vista 64 bit, yet i run on 32B because of Graphics Card

Dell Inspiron 530S

ATI Radeon HD 3450 *Trying to upgrade this, pain with 530s*

4G of Ram

Pentium Dual Core ES5200 2.50GHz

Sorry but it's definitely a problem with the Six Launcher.

I've tried disabling 100% my AV' date=' my firewall and my router's firewall and STILL getting the same problem.

Now I've decided to install DayZ manually and it worked.

Apologies if this has already been answered' date=' but I have a question. Is there any way to switch servers without having to exit completely out of the game? Right now if I quit one server and minimize ArmA2, then try to load another server, six launcher just loads a second ArmA2.

[/quote']The startup parameters you're using when launching manually are at least wrong, they lack the beta mod etc, see manual installation instructions for details.

Re issues when launching with Six Launcher, have you tried different servers? Have you excluded expansion\beta\arma2*.exe from the firewall?

Hey I'm curious does the launcher by any chance have a high flow of data? it uses an awful lot of memory and I've seen a huge spike in data usage since I got it..

Retrieving all the gamespy info etc, and of course updating mods costs data.

The new build suspends sync operations by default while the game is running, which should reduce data usage and lag while in game etc.

It seems to want to initialize the mod for the launcher' date=' but it finds it already is initialized.

You can probably workaround the issue by deleting the .rsync subfolder from the @DayZ modfolder and from the expansion\beta modfolder, and then rerun the launcher.

I'll inspect the code paths, but it would be helpful if you could post the application log files in a ticket: http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html

I've found that if the following conditions are met, the experienced issue can occur:

The DayZ or expansion\beta mod contains an .rsync subfolder,

but the .rsync subfolder is either completely empty, or at least the .rsync\.repository.yml file is missing.

Oh, my apologies! I've been trying to get DayZ to work for days (no pun intended) and in a moment of utter frustration, I uninstalled SixLauncher completely so I'm afraid the application log files might very well be gone. But I do recall poking around in the ArmA installation folder a bit to see if there was a way to fix it. I remember deleting the entire "expansion" folder and then trying it again, but SixLauncher simply remade the expansion folder, along with the .rsync folder, only to show the exact same error again. That was actually the point that I flipped out and uninstalled the whole thing :s

Hmm removing the expansion folder killed your game really, need to reinstall and patch it to v1.60, as it contains original game files, or did you mean the beta subfolder? :)

Please double check that there are no arma related files in your VirtualStore folder: C:\users\your_username\appdata\Local\VirtualStore.

In any case if you are still experiencing the issues after said workarounds etc, if you're using the launcher again please attach the log files to a ticket and we'll get right on it :)

I'm talking 120gb of UPLOAD out of all things.. it seems strange the only thing that has changed in my usage is playing DayZ and running the Sixlauncher..

Also memory, its using anywhere from 100-500MB or RAM..

Nah that's definitely not any of the SIX Updater utilities' date=' if anything it downloads.

Perhaps monitor the throughput with the Resource Monitor, available in The Task Manager, Performance tab.

Ah alright just checking, I went from only having used 10gb of data (uploading videos) to 120-150 which struck me as very strange..

I'll try to find any patterns and get back to you, I typically only check task manager when I need to control+alt+delete to get out of a stuck load on OA.

I was trying to check out the new option to close Six on game launch, but when I clicked the box, I saw no check mark. so I was clicking all of the boxes to see if any would 'check', but none did. then when I hit OK, I got a warning about 2 of the options I had enabled. now I don't know what I turned on and I don't see a way to set things back to the defaults

edit: I figued it out. it was something that got shut off by Gamebooster that was keeping the 'checks' from showing

Why wont Six Launcher update to v1.7.1.5?? It said "dayz is updated" But i can't enter any servers.. Just the v.1.7.2 servers :@

1.7.1.5 is old, 1.7.2 is new, the servers are in the process of updating.

If you have abnormal usage on your net it sounds like you might be infected. Scan for viruses. You might be part of a bot net.

While I've been reading other topics, I haven't seen a fix. Although, I have seen the 'Waiting on character to create' topic.

I have passed that, and have proceeded to get to the 'Loading' screen with no sounds and end up have to alt-ctrl-delete.

Any fix to this?

Bought Arma2 on Monday via Steam, downloaded and installed 6Launcher & Updater, but cant get dayz running since then :(

When starting the launcher i see a list of servers with all different versions, i tend to try to connect to .94445 (if im correct) and after that im stuck in this connecting, reconnecting "loop" that ends with a frozen game and the infamous "loading" screen.

I appriciate the effort of the devs but for me its just not working :(
