I must not be conveying myself properly. I'm arguing that in a real life apocalypse sitting outside of Cherno and sniping people isn't realistic. You wouldn't chill outside of a large city wasting all of your ammo on murdering people because they MIGHT one day find you and kill you. That's fucking fucked up and isn't realistic, except for a psychopath.

Killing people because they might kill you wouldn't be realistic? Now that's more than a little naive. In such a "real-life apocalyptic" setting, the worst case scenario isn't that you'll just wake up on a beach if you take your chances. And people will be more critical than ever about which lives are assets and liabilities. You can sure as hell bet that there will be more than beans to fight other humans over. Y'know like continuing your bloodline for one prime example. Much of which applies to the crazy and the rational. And running away from danger will only get you so far until you realise that you threw away control over a very efficient area for replenishing your supplies.

seriously, what i dont understand is why people that play the game to kill new players can't seem to reaslize that maybe, just maybe, they could quench their thirst for blood by playing a conventional shooter with the fast paced bloodshed they desire. but surely, these types of games havent been developed yet, have they?

I didn't want to "derail" this discussion, I was arguing with a person who already had. It isn't naive for me to think that most SANE people woudn't do this in real life. Find a high-powered sniper somewhere up north, travel all the way down to the coast, and spend all of your ammo murdering people you don't know. Murdering people who could be on their way to get supplies for their family they left back at camp. Murdering people with a weapon which if it's anything like The Walking Dead would attract hordes upon hordes of zombies. No, I don't think it's naive to believe this is ridiculous.

I have good news for all of you.

So far I have DESTROYED 14 snipers in Cherno in the past day. Two have come back for their stuff, only to be killed again.

It's almost like I'm one with the grass. And do you know what? I was prone when someone ran past me... I thought "I'm running low on food here..." and instead of getting an EASY kill, I ran into the city to get food/drink. I felt bad for even thinking it... but then my sniping abilities improved after this.

Also, I've saved 3 people from definite death. One guy was only about 30 metres in from of me, zigzagging like hell getting sniped. It only took me 5 seconds to find the sniper on a building, scoped in and killed the fucker.

The guy who I saved stopped... and this might be wishful thinking but he looked at me for a split second laying down on the grass and it was almost like he thanked me.

I've server hopped 8 times in order to find them, and believe me I have.

Snipers, I'm still coming for you. And getting more fucking experience as each day goes by. My hunger for you grows.

Bad decision making on the part of an anything but survivalist reinforcing bad decision making of dozens of others. You are charging taxes or protection money for this hand holding crap right? In a real survival situation you are not entitled to anything,not safety,not food,not women,not booze,not weapons or cool things the dead no longer need. Every day will be a fight to survive and bad decisions will not result in a respawn. Going into a big city to loot "because its there" is an entitlement mentality of someone who will not live long enough to enjoy what spoils he or she has aquired.

I call total bullshit on your 14 snipers claim. Some guy on a roof isnt a sniper,he's another guy who made bad decision,like the ones you are "protecting". I wish you all the luck in the world because you are going to have to share it all with players who make bad choices,over and over and over again.

Snipers counter-sniping snipers in a shitty sniper city. Instead of shooting noobies or douchebag griefers I like a more diabolical approach. Found a duper tent with like 10 satchels in it, spent my day today setting up a perimeter of satchels around Cherno. Blew it at the first sign of human life. What else is there to do but kill? Shooting dumb zombies and looting only lasts for so long. I'm friendly most times but kill missions are tense and fun, nothing gets your heart pumping like hunting a motherfucker down. All you guys in this thread comparing rifle calibers like we're in a middle school locker room comparing dick sizes. At least OP grew some balls and fought back instead of crying like most people.

The best way for someone to learn how this game is played is to just show it to them. Not hold their hand. I had to learn how to play DarkFall the hard way before I actually got better. Holding someone's hand is doing more harm than good. They won't learn how to part with their gear even when they do get good gear.

I applaud OP for actually doing something about what h perceives as a problem. Instead of just coming to the forums and posting "OMGZ DM IN CHERO KOS IS KILLING GAME" he is making an attempt to create a penalty for sniping within the city.
