UPDATED DAILY: I'm Issuing a Warning to Any Snipers

Recommended Posts

For too long, my worry is not zombies within major cities, but snipers who's only joy in the game is killing people. Often they won't go for their loot which demonstrates how they only want to kill humans for the fun of it - despite what many of them lose in gear.

So I'm issuing a warning... wherever I am, in any server the snipers in Cherno will be brought to justice. I will wait, and wait, and wait, and wait in darkness (or a gillie suit) and pursue you. I can't do it alone, but I hope to kill enough so they stop - at least on that server. If there are none, I will move server, and find you.

If I kill you from long distance: again, I will wait. I will wait until you foolishly try to regain your gear and BANG you're dead again. When I reach the top of the roof and skilfully crawl up behind you, make no mistake about it - I WILL say in direct communication "Stick this up your arse you little prick!" before I blow your brains out.

Snipers, I'm coming for you.

UPDATE:

I have good news for all of you.

So far I have DESTROYED 14 snipers in Cherno in the past day. Two have come back for their stuff, only to be killed again.

It's almost like I'm one with the grass. And do you know what? I was prone when someone ran past me... I thought "I'm running low on food here..." and instead of getting an EASY kill, I ran into the city to get food/drink. I felt bad for even thinking it... but then my sniping abilities improved after this.

Also, I've saved 3 people from definite death. One guy was only about 30 metres in from of me, zigzagging like hell getting sniped. It only took me 5 seconds to find the sniper on a building, scoped in and killed the fucker.

The guy who I saved stopped... and this might be wishful thinking but he looked at me for a split second laying down on the grass and it was almost like he thanked me.

I've server hopped 8 times in order to find them, and believe me I have.

Snipers, I'm still coming for you. And getting more fucking experience as each day goes by. My hunger for you grows.

UPDATE:

If you are in Cherno: stay there. This will be good. If you think you are safe in another city killing innocents, it will only be a matter of time until the number of snipers in Cherno on a three hour basis drops below 0.33, to the point where I move city. If you are in the area I move to, count yourself already dead.

UPDATE:

Hmmm, two things that are wrong with this post.

a) To assume that the only reason you kill people with a sniper is because you "know they would've shot me the minute they saw me" is a ridiculous presumption. Not only because a lot of people ARE friendly, but because it's not "kill or be killed" it's you just killing. It's not as if you see someone from afar and think "they will kill me so I should kill them". You will never meet.... you could avoid them. Ridiculous statement.

Number two, I love and hate how you said "would enjoy the challenge of a fair fight" - I don't think you would, because chances are you would die - you're only used to killing people who are innocently running along and who cannot fight back.

I was recently watching a tiger documentary, and ones accused of man-eating were kept in prisons. But a millionaire wanted to free them into the wild, and did. But some tigers got so accustomed to being fed dead meat, they would probably die in the wild because they would have lost most ability to hunt. This is the same situation, you're so used to killing people who a) very likely cannot fight back B) are an easy kill. So tell me, what do you do when you come up against someone who isn't easy to kill and are very capable of fighting back? You become the tiger who starved to death.

UPDATE:

This morning it was sunrise, and as it was I ran into the forrest, leaving Cherno behind for now.

My time in Cherno has been glorious guys. I've killed over 60 snipers in the past week or so. It's been amazing. I hope the people of Cherno can walk the streets without dying, sorry getting killed. The streets on my UK servers are 99% clean, the ratio of snipers/hour is sometimes 400% better than it was when I started. Because I am loyal to my country, I should stay on the UK servers. However I must move to Elekro. Also I have great news, I managed to obtain NVGs the other night so this means that no longer are the streets of Cherno clean on daytime servers, but at night they are clean too. And Elektro will be clean soon too.

So, if so far you have read this thread in complete comfort, knowing that I'm a couple of miles away from you so you are safe, then unfortunately you're MASSIVELY mistaken. Elektro will have it's saviour too. You're sniping days are over, people on the UK server. You're... DayZ... Are... Numbered.

And you could be number 1 on my list.

UPDATE:

It was deliberate. I'll PM you the details if you want. Just send me a private message.

UPDATE:

Right to anyone who wants to join me in my quest to eradicate snipers, I don't want to join you! What I do need you to do is server-hop the hell out of the game (the reasons why you should is on page 11) and kill as many as you can. Then eventually they will be a much smaller minority.

Thanks!

Have fun trying to stop me.

op is right.

this is the only thing to do, the end game of dayz.

try to bring civilisation and safety to the world, or try to bring chaos and banditry.

i would like to see more reason to protect cities. perhaps some time in the future when there are many more items, we can also have town pubs, where people will meet and trade and talk. then there would be more reason to protect cities.

what id really like though is to see an even bigger map, 300 people per server, and some kind of system whereby cities are somewhat dependant on eachother through trade and on the income of resources ie metal, water, grain etc. so then cities are centers where everything needed to survive is produced from the raw materials. so you have a reason to protect the cities with allies as they can be a safe haven. but because youd have more people working for a city, bandits can also work together to try and take the cities and rule them how they want, and loners can do as they do know walking the thin road between civilisation and chaos.

this is the game im hoping comes out of this dayz experiment.

These things would be amazing, but in suggesting stuff we should be realistic. I like the aspect of a town pub etc. that is really realistic, achievable and genuinely interesting but to have a working city in the way you describe is extremely ambitious.

Doesn't like snipers, kills people he assumes are bandits. Maybe someone is doing over watch while their friends get stater gear before heading north, or to get blood. Not all friendlies sit in the north, because cars, and choppers spawn on the coast as well.

Not all bandits are bad, just to let you know. Sometimes friendlies shoot at you as well, they might have just decided to turn bandit, or fresh to the game. I have killed more friendlies trying to kill me than bandits. I have zero bandit kills on this play through. All four of my murders are friendlies shooting at me to steal my backpack, or gun.

So just to sum this up, there is a huge chance you are what you hate. Don't act so righteous, because you cannot confirm all those kills are just murderers.

You are right at the rudimentary level, but let's be honestly if someone is sitting on a vantage point with a sniper then there is a very great chance they are bandits (a bandit in my eyes is someone who goes out of their way to kill survivors - i.e. not in self defence) so if I kill a friendly, it's probably a <1% chance. And it will be worth it I'm afraid.

The same reasons made me want to start a similar crusade. I didn't do it, because I'm not that much into waiting. One day someone sniped me from more than 1000m away with a .50 cal. Come on. I had no chance to see that fucker!

I'm not that much against sniping players, but I hate it when they don't even try to collect the loot of their victim. It just sucks.

Maybe I will pick the idea up again.

I hear ya! However, I don't wait... I server hop like hell. Which I think is justified ONLY in this instance.

seems people forget that snipers are part of the game.. duh!. if u dont like it go play with your PLAY-DOE or SILLY PUDDY! pick another game. why clutter the map with objects like wire and tank traps becuase you suck at moving thru cities and get sniped by a camper. its your fault that you are getting killed in game. you made the mistake and need to learn from it.

While i seriously applaud you, I think your efforts would be more useful if you joined me, and do what I and many other do. Instead of "just being nice" which is good, why not go one step closer and eradicate a problem. I shouldn't have to tell you that zombies aren't the problem... if a player get's killed by a zombie 99% of the time it's their own fault, the snipers need to be killed. All of them.

Cheers. Also, if I seen you on a rooftop, I would kill you. Sorry if I already have, you are most definitely a 'bad' sniper in my eyes without the back story.

Then you are an idiot, and a bandit. By killing everybody you see in chernerus, you are causing more harm than good. GTFO, and leave it to the orginised people who know what they are doing.

"Don't tell people how to play the game. By the way, stop sniping bandits, banditry is part of the game!"

Logic's got a revolver in his mouth. And he's pulling back the hammer.

Hypocrisy, on the other hand, is doing blow off a hooker's collarbone.

Good to see someone has a pair of e-balls, and instead of whinging about PKers is actually going to go out and hunt them.. This is as essential a part of the game as banditry.. They both need each other to make the game more fun for each other.. People need to think about it more objectively and stop crying about it..

Soon there will be whole groups of 'heroes' who will roam around looking for bandits and helping survivors.

I don't know if you think you are ruining the sniper's day, but i don't think that's really the way to look at it. You are both giving each other a better experience..

You have developed your own mission, driven by your own goals and motivations, and have something fun to do. Plus his game time will be much more fun too, because he will have the constant threat of vigilante groups hunting him through the countryside.. This kind of player driven social equilibrium and inter-dependency are, i believe, very much what this game is about

sigh.. I liked the idea so I was going to attempt to do something similar spawned in the woods near Cherno and as soon as I moved out of my bush a ghillied guy with a silenced weapon lit me up. Oh well I guess I just need to get better.

Snipers and Bandits are completley different things. but I still understand your point of view none the less.

Though to point out what I'm stating here:

I see bandits as people who are either grouped or solo and move on to kill players for their loot. Snipers are people who, like you mentioned, people who sit out in a ghillie and most likely an M107 or AS50 as their weapon to basicly kill any player they get in sight of their scopes. now while this is an ability to do so in game.. it's not what I would call being PART OF THE GAME I mean.. if you'd be in a zombie apocalypse. would you seriously be one of those idiots who decides to find themselves a long range weapon and a ghillie suit (which would be pretty muhc impossible in reality.) and sit out in the wilds to kill people that happen to be in range of your weapon? How is that in ANY way part of surviving a zombie apocalypse. these people are basicly making this game something like BF3 or Call of Duty.

I'm sure allot of people won't agree with me.. but hopefully others do agree with me. so yeah, I stand a 100% with this guy. as what he says. 99% of the snipers that find place around Elektro and Cherno are basicly grim reapers, who are just out there to kill any player that moves into town without any proper reason other than making a killcount for themselves and ruining allot of people's days.

I guess OP realized what a hypocrite he was. Or someone thought he was a camper killing new-spawns and killed him.
