Inception.

Being unarmed is the only thing stopping you people.

Recommended Posts

So I stroll through Elektro after my last silly jackass encounter.

I see a guy with a double barrel and ask him not to kill me. "I'm unarmed", I say.

So he doesn't.

Thirteen minutes later I find a hatchet.

I pick it up, turn around and what do I see? The same guy. He didn't kill my last time, so I didn't think he would kill me this time.

POP! Goes my head.

Lol. Really?

Oh well.

EDIT: inb4 "hurr butthurt faget!!11!!"

I usually drive around electro/chernagorsk with my motor bike, giving guns and free rides to people in need. 80% of the time a person with a gun will try to shoot me instantly, in which they end up dead. The other times I give guns to starters, who thank be and move on their way.

People need to do less PvP imo. In real life, are you really going to shoot and gut out every person you see?

I've never been killed in electro then again I stay well away from electro and cherno when I'm a new spawn. OP don't goto electro or cherno unarmed you will die.

To be fair when I first started playing seeing someone with a hatchet out usually meant a new player who would appreciate assistance.

Now most players I see with a Hatchet are running at me screaming incoherently down the MIC smashing primary mouse button so I tend to consider them armed and frikkin INSANE =/

In all honesty, i probably would, in a world of anarchy it is every man for himself. You carry only what you need and when it comes to someone else, you need to consider that you always have something they need, thus making it either you or them.

It's a brutal and even a fickle approach to it, but sad fact is, if you desire to survive you need to think about yourself and only yourself.

That being said, if i see an unarmed man and he calls himself out as such, i will lend the hand. But the second they try to turn on me (and they have before) i won't hesitate to brain them.

In real life.....

That's the problem right there.

and...

Since side chat was removed there's no way to communicate with people before they get in pistol head shot range. I'm on day 18 atm and I have a M4 Holo with M203GL, a PDW 'machine pistol' a GPS and a bunch of other shiny stuff. If I get the drop on you your a dead man/woman. There's no chance I'm going to risk a hatchet to the face from a new spawn.

Here's some more cruelty for you...

I looted a crashed heli last night and before leaving I set a bear trap in the long grass right next to the door gunner position. I really hope someone got their neck stuck in it while crawling around the site.

A few months ago I would not of dreamed of hurting another player by this means or any other. I always tried to make friendly contact with other people but I soon learned how cruel people could be. A few encounters with untrustworthy and 'un-trusting' people soon hardened my spirit.

I'll gladly snipe you off your bike, take your supplies, and dump them in cherno store. We don't need handouts, we don't need your charity. Supplies belong to the people, comrade.

My previous character [i don't count these stupid encounters as proper characters], I was a bandit. I just felt like being nice for once, and I guess it doesn't work.

"hardened"? more like "pussified", to be honest you give up too easily, this isn't real life, you can respawn an infinite number of times, why not keep trying being friendly? why must you succumb to the unnecessary murder that at the end of the day won't matter at all?

Yes I'm a complete ass now but like I said, I used to be a nice guy. I was considering becoming a 'Roaming Medic' heh I still might try that. I've only 1 murder and no bandit kills on this char, which is quite typical for my characters. The only reason I 'trapped' the heli site was because a day earlier I go shot while observing another player at a heli site, it was a kind of universal balance type thing. I was lucky to get away with my life that time. Besides the trap should only maim someone, if they have bandages and morphine they'll be fine and have learned a valuable lesson. I did them a favour!!!

The lack of clarity in creating a system that supports a degree of humanity over chaos, causes people to kill at will.

Until such a system is in place the game will continue in its current format and unlikely to change due to the immense amount of bugs they are working to fix.

you had a hatchet. you were NOT unarmed.

i just killed a guy with a hatchet. chopped his face in. he had a dmr, revolver, coyote backpack, and assorted other goodies. really kitted out minus gps/nvg/etc. now i have all that stuff.

he tried to stalk me in a cow pen (one of those long buildings) but he did not realize i had exited and circled around behind him. i sprinted up behind him as he crouch-ran in the building and 2-shot him. he got 1 desperation shot off and missed. i bet he's kicking himself for losing all that stuff to a new spawn who literally had only a hatchet. he could have sniped me easy if he had stayed back a bit and just waited for me to leave the little building cluster. he could have just avoided me easily. nope, he came down into the buildings with his revolver out to kill a fresh spawn and paid for it.

the moral of the story is that a hatchet is a DEADLY WEAPON. i have killed plenty of people with just a hatchet. you know how zombies run sideways and zig-zag as they come at you so they are harder to hit? do the same thing with the hatchet. when you get close keep strafing around between swings. you will be amazed at how bad some people are at hitting a moving target. i DO NOT take a hatchet-wielder lightly. if they stay at a reasonable distance, i might not kill them, but if they try to close the gap at all im gonna unload on them.

the best part about this story is that i had just lost a dmr, coyote, and a bunch of other stuff to a hacker that transported the entire server into some water and then killed us in retaliation for me murdering him and his friends in elektro. (yea i killed him too, he teleported to me but i happened to be backing up at the time, so he showed up with his back to me, i pumped half a clip of dmr into him and he went down but just unconscious. it took 2 full clips of 1911 directly to the head before he finally died. he had the coyote and i got a gps off of him too!) now i have basically the same gear as i did before, minus the gps, because some guy underestimated the hatchet.

So I stroll through Elektro

Why should anyone care about anything that happens to you after that sentence?

Like "I was having unprotected, non-consensual sex with an HIV positive hungry grizzly bear. Things did not go well."

Like, okay? What did you expect?

Stop doing stupid things and bad stuff won't happen to you as often.

The new DayZ code of conduct:

All right, I'm coming out. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife, all his friends, and burn his damn house down.

Stay out of the movie theater, we have the next psychopathic mass shooter here.

This is why I always bury people I kill. Don't want a William Munny coming back and killing every last one of us because I didn't bury his friend right.
