Has rocket given up on DayZ?

Recommended Posts

He doesn't post anymore and hasn't done for basically the last month.

He just posts to release half assed hot 'fixes' that seem to do more to break the game than fix it.

Anyone got an idea if he's going to hand the project off to someone else if he's going to bow out?

I remember reading the interview where he said he's getting tired of it, it'd be a real shame if he gave up when the game still has this many players.

Perhaps he's already working on a stand alone version and he's learned all he needs from the alpha testing of the mod?

I really hope that's the case.

He's said before when he isn't posting it's because he's working like a nutcase on the project. That kinda should be pretty obvious, I'd rather he be working than shooting the breeze on one of the 5000 forums out there discussing DayZ.

Best troll thread US.

You have to be joking... right?

Just because he doesn't post as many times as you wish on the FORUMS doesn't mean he's given up on DayZ.

What is this noise?

Rocket, Gave up on DayZ?

Update like, three days ago. Talks of 1.7.2.4 soon. Choppers coming back potentially, Vehicles desyncing problems fixed. Beartraps added... talk of underground bunkers, generators. Fixed Duping problem... Fixing Alt-F4 problem in the works.

Has he quit...? Where do you get this idea?

Contrary to popular belief, rocket is not a development machine where he gives you what you want and it will always be perfect.

He is a human being which is making a statement in the gaming industry. He is releasing his UNFINISHED game that he is working on, to help test it, and solve bugs as they come up as he releases major things.

Patience is a virtue. The game has only been in development for about 2 months. If you want it to go faster, learn coding and help out. Otherwise, stop crying that he's lazy when he's busy working on new things.

I heard Rocket accepted a job offer from Blockbuster stocking shelves.

It has not been confirmed yet.

the fact that rocket doesn't post means that he's working on the mod itself. You should be happy

So do you want Rocket to develop the game ? or to chat on the forums? if he isnt posting i see that as a good sign.

Have you not noticed all the recent patches and updates? I'd say they're too busy working on the game.

Have you seen the traffic on this forum alone?

Threads fill faster than anyone could possibly read and reply to, and he still manages to keep us updated. I've even seen him give his beans to a couple of posts today. And that's when he's not giving interviews and presentations, fixing bugs, trying to keep almost 150.000 players a day playing on servers that are working far beyond their capacity, all the while dreaming up where next to go with development and what the big picture for Day Z will be.

Yeah. He's clearly moved on.

In all seriousness, I hope they start kicking out updates again soon.. its been about 1 1/2 months with only a mediocre update.. they were kicking one out a week for a long time there, maybe i'm spoiled now :P
