horrgakx 11 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) For me, ArmA2 is not playable without TrackIR. Who else is using it?I started on TrackIR3 and bought the Pro expansion but now I use v5 it's just awesome. You can see the TrackIR camera on the top of the central monitor below. Although I sometimes run 3x monitors for games (such as Battlefield 3), the TrackIR allows me to drop to a single monitor with ArmA2 which means my frame rate is kept high whilst maintaining situational awareness.... and it's awesome in driving games :) Edited July 18, 2012 by Horrgakx

xwhitemousex 67 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) I used TrackIR before, though mostly in flight sims. It was usually short lived though cause I never got quite used to the glancing... plus you needed to have a cap on to mount the tri-pod thingie with the reflectors. And I really don't like playing with a cap on :P It's enough that I have the headset on already. But I haven't scoped out TrackIR lately so I dunno... if they fixed it so you don't need the cap-mount or improved the IR reflector things then I might give it another try.It was quite useful in the flight sims for looking around, especially in helicopters where you need to clearly see where you are in relation to the landing pad under you.*edit*Well, I just googled the new TrackIR 5 and it seems it comes with a clip-on for the headset, which means I just ordered it :)I really enjoyed the TrackIR in flight sims (mostly FSX) but that stupid tri-point thing you needed was the killer for me. Seems now it will be just perfect!A nice video here: Also, if you follow the links from that video you get a 20$ discount on the TrackIR 5 and clip-on, as well as 5$ discount on shipping (at least I got that just now). dallas 5195 Posted July 18, 2012 Of all of your whole setup Horrgakx, I love your penholder the most. :)I have a TR4 somewhere in the basement, but I never got used to it and having freelook on my thumb button, seems to work as good for me.

ZlobaRUS54 441 Posted July 19, 2012 I've been using it for two days (and yes I knew of l-alt ;) ). It made me love first person, the immersion, smootheness and presision of control given by trackir is incredible.
