FoulMouth 26 Posted July 17, 2012 People buy gold/items in MMOs and other games why would this be any different?
MarshallLaw 27 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Would this not be a violation of some sort? Either to the purchaser or the seller?Kind of pathetic if you ask me. Edited July 17, 2012 by MarshallLaw
Jaime (DayZ) 13 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Fun thing about DayZ is that you need to meet the salesman in person. You'll probably have to pay upfront, so most people won't trust the service... Edited July 17, 2012 by Jaime
Deuzerre 64 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Would this not be a violation of some sort? Either to the purchaser or the seller?Kind of pathetic if you ask me.Pathetic AND highly profitable.I can see hwo they would do this: Use a group of 3 or 4 servers running older versions of the mod (so no one goes in those server but their groups), and server hop between each and every one of those in "Hotspots", and store the stuff in tents. When a player "Buys" an item, the seller just goes to an up to date server.Or simply using a hack that's undetected. It's pathetic. But when I see the number of cheaters in multiplayer videogames these days, I think they'll get their money back in no time. Gamers got what tey diserve... vesmo 21 Posted July 17, 2012 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA it's so easy to get the best gear in the game, just wander around the known places looking for heli crash sites....paying for loot which you will lose forever in a heartbeat is the stupidest thing ever. Besides, if some people really do that they will be sorely disappointed as they will realize the game gets quite stale after you have that über loot. And if this will be alive when the game is in ALPHA....ohwow.
snowcrash 82 Posted July 17, 2012 i just like to Find gear and not buying it...the game is all about patience and exploring, so i dont think i will spoil me that..
z-layrex 175 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) What's to stop you robbing them?EDIT: Oh right, money up front, derp. Edited July 17, 2012 by z-layrex
Puka 11 Posted July 17, 2012 Why would you post the actual website? Not smart on your part? Or not so subtle advertising for your site?
heretic (DayZ) 76 Posted July 17, 2012 I got a copy of this mail too. Don't think I'll be requiring their services though.
Ingway 4 Posted July 17, 2012 You know, if somebody is dumb enough to waste money on items from this game, i will make a rule to kill people like that.
longbwai 18 Posted July 17, 2012 I wonder if a virtual can o beans cost more than its RL counterpart? That would be funny.
shmafoozius 0 Posted July 17, 2012 Got this too and reported it instantly. Hope this s*** get's taken down soon. And this guy should get punished.
ElRolle 97 Posted July 17, 2012 Not mentioning that the items can be duped atm, so they only need to find 1 item of a kind and just dupe it 100 times on a hidden server and then sell it.
Flip4Flap 8 Posted July 17, 2012 Same here..Sounds soo legit ... and crazy. We should meet them and trap them.Bandit style, ahah!
Gruelius 16 Posted July 17, 2012 i thought that something like this would come along eventually. would be a fun way to play haha not.. but would bei nteresting if rocket didnt have a problem with it. As there would possibly be merchants in a real life simuation IF there were global communication channels...but the major problem i can see with this is that the items wont be farmed, they will just be hacked in. wolfstriked 143 Posted July 17, 2012 Some one offered 50$ real dollars the other day for a sniper loadout w/ghilie suit.
daddycool 6 Posted July 23, 2012 So no word yet on what Rocket thinks of this? I'd definitely like to see his response.
peliluola@gmail.com 28 Posted July 23, 2012 I was shocked when I read this at first. I think goldminers ruin games like WoW and Runescape (yes, it was a great game before bots). I don't see this going well though, people will just end up killing the guy before paying and looting the salesman's corpse.
ATrickyCarnie 13 Posted July 23, 2012 Who'd buy gear knowing some asshat is going to shoot them and take it, regardless of how they got it.
MrSnaps 4 Posted July 23, 2012 What's to stop you robbing them?EDIT: Oh right, money up front, derp.I think the better question is what's to stop them from robbing the buyer? Nothing at all. (Note robbing can refer to bait and switch, or an in game murder, etc.)

So if the seller does get killed, it doesn't matter because the buyer has already paid.I'll check out their website later and buy the cheapest thing I can. I'll record the whole thing (even meeting up with the sellers) and see if this is a legitimate thing. Whenever that's done I'll post the video either here or in another thread.
