Hashisx 52 Posted July 13, 2012 I know the effect range is 300m.What I don't understand is why i have to aim at the crotch/stomach to get shots to land.To me it seems the redot is terribly off.help would be appreciated
Jemoeder 51 Posted July 13, 2012 I have made 4-500 meter shots with my m4 cco SD <-- SD Though not sure about the cco only
Whattteva 32 Posted July 13, 2012 I think it's cause your gun is of the female sex.
okano666@hotmail.co.uk 81 Posted July 13, 2012 I once hit a sniper from near the hospital at berezino in the middle of the nite pitch black. He was well over 500m away. I fired 3 shots, the 3rd one dropped him.Id say the rifle is one of the most accurate in game and one of the nicest to have, the only thing better is the silenced version. Tyrog 10 Posted July 13, 2012 Are you using Silenced ammo?
zeroready 8 Posted July 13, 2012 I haven't used that one yet, but I can tell you that the M16 w/ M203 is way off. The round goes much higher than the front sight post. You have to aim at their feet to hit their chest, no matter what range.I think some guns are just bugged.
Baelethal 102 Posted July 13, 2012 Personally, I haven't had any problems with the reddot, however, real ballistics are factors in this game. If you're above/below a target, you need to take that into account as well as the actual bullet travel distance.
Hashisx 52 Posted July 13, 2012 Are you using Silenced ammo?I am using SD rounds. If anything I would think these would decrease range..not increase it

radius 0 Posted July 13, 2012 Can you adjust the sight? Try setting it for the range you're aiming for.

Whattteva 32 Posted July 13, 2012 Using SD mags on a Non-SD gun, What is this madnessNothing wrong with that if that's all the ammo/gun combination you have. It sure beats having a gun with no ammo.
Tyrog 10 Posted July 13, 2012 Is this also a problem even if you are actually using an SD weapon? That, I don't know. I was using SD STANAG mags for my M4A3 CCO and I couldn't hit anything. I've never used the M4A1 Camo SD with SD mags.I guess it's not a problem, I've never seen someone complaining about it :D
Zakificus 10 Posted July 13, 2012 SD rounds in Non-SD gun cause all kinds of issues with accuracy and range. They work perfectly in SD weapons though.

Hashisx 52 Posted July 13, 2012 When a rifle is zeroed at 300metersNo shit sherlock? But seriously I can't really descripe in words what was happening other than using the SD rounds. To those who are wondering why I am using SD rounds. They dont aggro zombies like normal stag rounds.. I guess this is a glitch in the coding, Probably should restrict SD mags to SD guns.
BoomBoom (DayZ) 4 Posted July 13, 2012 I occasionally notice regular STANAG not hitting either. Anything beyond 300m is a crapshoot of luck.
Bludy 324 Posted July 13, 2012 i read that the zeroing for some weapons cannot be affected by pushing the button, it's a king of issue with arma2 engine or so..

Lapua Lupo 0 Posted July 13, 2012 What the guy was trying to describe in the drawing is that if a weapon is Zeroed for 300 meters, bullet strike will be high at any range closer than 300 meters, and low at an range farther than 300 meters, that's just the way it works because a bullet travels in an arc from the muzzle of the weapon, not a straight line. In the OP you said that you had to aim at the crotch to hit your target, so i'm guessing you were firing at a target that was much closer than 300 meters.
